Hi All, Oscar is still with me but there is plenty of interest in him its just making sure he gets the best fit possible.
He is a gas little man ….and finally he is the best of pals with big boy Rossi they are firm forever friends now…..Oscar is so cheeky and when they are playing and Rossi is lying down he bounces off Rossi’s back and pulls his ears…then when Rossi has had enough he stands up and towers over him. He is improving on recall but typical terrier when he sees someone or something that takes his interest you have to have your runners on to keep up. Likes helping with the laundry especially deciding that he knows the best place for putting the socks to dry….But the best is when its the "Wacky Races"….my apartment becomes a comedic race track….the start line is ususally in the yard with a little jump in through the back door through the livingroom and careful not to over shoot the doorway into the hallway down to the end…through the bedroom and the door out to the yard again usually on the second lap someone is brave enough to run over the bed and then of course there is the lap barging each other out of the way…..Treats given for 1st 2nd & Third places…..You would want to be made of hard stuff for this little man not to make you smileJune 7, 2010 at 12:39 pm #93112IndiannaMemberAnother great up-date from ‘Oscar world’. What a difference you have all made to this little chap’s life. As for wacky races, nice to know he has the energy. I can currently hear soft snoring from someone’s crate (we are both at work just now and Nells bells is sleeping happily, hope the telephone doesn’t ring and wake her up!) Take care Oscar and stay in touch.

June 21, 2010 at 12:02 am #98355LuvMyFurKidsMemberMy little gent is just getting more loving each day …..he comes looking for his cuddles and bounces around getting all excited especially when he is getting a pigs ear treat. I love the bones of him and he is going to make a very lucky person so happy as I can just watch him play with my dogs for hours he is hilarious….he loves all the fur females he meets and is just a gentle little man….he made even more fur friends today. Everyone just loves this teddy bear!
June 23, 2010 at 5:22 pm #87640LuvMyFurKidsMemberWell as D.I.D has done so much for Oscar he had a little chat with me the other day and wanted to do his bit for D.I.D in return……so he decided to come along with me and do some home visits ….so far he has been to wicklow and met a lovely lady who had chickens and he didn’t even get distracted with them he prefered lounging under the Parasol as he had enough sun the day before on the beach……he met the lovely Jasper in Bray and there was polite sniffs and tail wags…then he met a fab family in Lucan who had the best boys ever …he liked them alot especially how gentle they were with him….and all the treats he got. And last night he met a great couple …he like their home and their garden but especially their pond where he slipped in for a quick dip and emerged like a big green monster with algae dripping off of every hair…..they didn’t mind in the slightest however Im sure their fish would beg to differ…..he was dried off and made a fuss of and given treats…he is considering trying to qualify for the next Irish Olympic Swimmnig Team but he thinks he will swin faster with out the algae when he competes!…More updates to follow over the next few visits!

July 3, 2010 at 1:42 pm #98690LuvMyFurKidsMemberWell the deed I dreaded has just happened ….I had to hand my gentle little man over to his new forever family….he was happy to go out with them on the lead but then when I picked him up for his and my last cuddle tears streaming down my face he definately sussed that something was up….Not only does he get a fantastic new forever family but he gets boucy brother Max included in the deal….nearly two hours later and a huge bar of chocolate consumed and the tears still keep coming….Rossi and Tess are so sad to …they wouldn’t even eat for me and they keep walking over to the door tilting their heads with every sound just waiting for Oscar to trot back in….Everyone who reads this please keep fingers and paws crossed that my little gent settles very quickly….Oscar I may no longer be your foster mum but you’ll always be my foster fur kid!
July 3, 2010 at 7:00 pm #98744Angela1MemberOscar is with us since lunch time and it’s been an action packed few hours!
He slept on the front seat beside me on the way home. Our dog Max joined us for a long walk before we let them loose in the back garden – what a pantomine! Oscar ‘invited’ Max to play and it lasted for over 2 hours. They have already worn a perfect running track in the grass from chasing each other. Max eventually came in to rest but Oscar spent a while sitting under the tree at the end of the garden barking at the fat pidgeon that lives there.
We’ve had one or two growls from Max over a tennis ball and a chair but Oscar got the message and nothing came of it.
Audrey is just amazing, she has healed Oscar’s body and soul. He has been wonderful today and has taken it all in his stride – I know that’s down to the fact that Audrey nurtured him and prepared him to take on the world. Thank you.
July 3, 2010 at 8:11 pm #98745LuvMyFurKidsMemberSounds like he is having the best time ….I couldn’t have wished for more……As for your such kind words on me helping Oscar I can’t take all the credit as the super thing about Dogs in Distress they don’t only help the dogs but the work as a team…..so on Oscar’s behalf he would like to thank Marie(Twist) who without starting D.I.D he would never have had a chance to a better life….thanks to Kathy(kaydoyle) who without he would never have got out of the pound and into foster….thanks to Marese(Buzzsmom) who took him till his first foster Mum Sarah(Curly) & first foster sister Jess could collect him he would like to thank them both for giving him a new start…..thanks to Kim(animalhelper) for being so gentle giving him his vacinations and to Mark(Terenure Vet.Hos.) for making him better…..but most of all I know he would like to thank Rossi and Tess for making him become a dog again who now knows how to eat without agression, run without being scared and play for hours and never tire of the same games….We will never forget you Oscar our little gent! xoxox Looking forward to reading the updates and seeing your photogenic little self.
