..can we take it that your name has reverted to Cassie? Do you know what, I’m very happy for your new human. Your human, Indianna, has been posting to your thread A LOT…and that’s not unusual for her but she wasn’t even doing so in response to your posts…I think the song "I knew I loved you before I met you" is about the both of you. I wish you many many happy years together. x

Hi angjo, my DID dog, Brandon has had some issues with other dogs right back from when I fostered him in 2010. I took him to a trained behaviourist and he too has fear-based reactions. Charlie is brilliant as he is offering a warning and telling you he is not comfortable. All dogs are different but the advise I received was to reward my dog for IGNORING what he doesn’t like. Train him while away from distractions, to give you eye contact. I was told to have a tasty treat supply and use a command like "look" or "watch me" to mark anytime my dog would give even the briefest of eye contact to me. I found with my guy that if he isn’t being put in situations he is uncomfortable with he will relax and trust me. Over time I can be near to other dogs but I did need to not try and be to sociable myself, no chatting with other dog walkers while my dog was getting worked up and worried that he’d have to get cross. I would give my dog the attention and walk away from anything he was upset about before he got over his stress threshold. Rewards for "live and let live" became my motto. He’s now great with 2 dogs he knows in my neighbourhood which doesn’t sound like much but he is so much better. There are no outbursts at the sight of other dogs whatsoever. Of course there are a number of dogs he simply can’t deal with but he knows he doesn’t have to. Therefore now he doesn’t react but he’ll never send them out-of-favour dogs any love letters – ever – and that’s fine. He knows that some dogs are nice, including his best buddy Dabs, his adoptive brother.

Brandon "enjoying?" the paddling pool with Dabs :D. Looks great huh? There are plenty of other pics of me standing there in the pool on my lonesome! In all the photos on the vendor’s website there are dogs from all over Europe living in the pool, I don’t think I’ll be posting on that website…it wouldn’t boost business!!

You are right Indianna, we don’t have the "heat" genes at all! I got a paddling pool for the two dogs and … they won’t use it … way too out of the ordinary – must be viewed with great suspicion!! We love your photos Sorcha, we want more please!

Ah, fair play Zeus… sausages, Dentastix and the sofa…are you sure you aren’t a collie? If you think you are a collie then you will hold out for boiled chicken and will ensure that you have a sleep on a "people" bed and have a bit of telly, possibly a good drama program…that’s if you don’t refuse to come inside after the evening walk. I can see you train your people in nicely ;)

So sorry to hear this news, having met Jones on Grafton Street back late last year. I couldn’t resist kissing him on the head. Jones was so full of life & beautiful, instantly a friend…I’m so sad…

The best thing you can do for Mollie is be with her through it all so she isn’t scared. Can you get some kind of body scan done as well as the x-ray? If you can get all the information together from the tests and know what’s going on and discuss it all with your vet. Take it a step at a time is the best advice I’ve heard and don’t stress by looking too far ahead. I will say a prayer to St Anthony for her.
