    Great updates :D

I have to say it is very annoying and disrespectful of Volunteers time to submit an adoption form and then go and get a dog elsewhere.
If you were fixed on this dog then how do you just go and get a different one.
It is very annoying but if it’s all that fickle then maybe Flynn is better off waiting for the people that can wait to meet him before he is passed up yet again.
People need to realise these dogs have already been either dumped, strayed or not wanted already and DID have promised each dog an upgrade in life not more of the same

Ah Yvonne what a bitter sweet time…….but do take credit that without all your care and nursing these little people would not be here to enjoy a new life and bring all the fun and friendship to another household ;)
You will have to keep a diary of all your foster children :P
It should be called the Little People Club.

Cute little man catching the rays with a female on your paw. ;)
Delighted to hear from you and that you are settling in so well and showing off all your good manners :)
Your new Mum is delighted with you and says you are such a good boy.
Good boy Ricky you have to keep the side up as you were the poster boy for Russell’s everywhere, give a good impression and get some home for your cousins who are waiting in the wings. :P

I met Oscar on his journey from the pound. Such a gentle and lovely boy who so deserves the loving home he has now found. Best of luck Oscar :)

Ben is feeling very sorry for himself today after his visit to the vet. He is so unsettled and out of sorts but I’m sure by tomorrow he will be a lot brighter. He is such a beautiful and gentle boy and we hate seeing him upset. On the plus side we have found a new use for our plant pot

Ben is living with us now for almost a week. It is very clear that the poor boy has had very little stimulation in his life so far. He was pacing the floor a lot which I assume had been a habit for him in his past life. He is easily distracted from this though with his new toys so the pacing has been reducing as the days go by and when he settles again he is very calm. He is such a gentle and loving boy and is very affectionate.

His lack of stimulation in his past life again is very obvious when we are out for a walk. He had his first trip to the beach yesterday. He was very excited to see everything. He barked at the other dogs but with a wagging tail and was thrilled when they came up to him to say hello. He has never been aggressive with any dog. He probably envied his furry friend Sparky who was allowed to run around as much as she wanted to. His day will come, but not for a while I expect as he does not listen well to any command when there is so much going on around him. He walks very well on lead in the dark though because there is not so much happening around him. Last night and this morning Ben had an upset tummy probably because of all the excitement yesterday  Nothing that boiled chicken, rice and plenty of TLC can’t sort out today.

As you can see he is recuperating :)

Looks like Ben has mastered his toilet training. No accidents in the house last night or so far today :)

    Now called Ben :)

Ben is a lovely sweet boy. He arrived in our house yesterday afternoon and settled in quite quickly. It is clear that he has very little experience of lead walks but is very bright and willing to learn. Everything is an adventure for him. He is not fully house trained but we are working on that. He is eager to greet to every dog he meets and shows no signs of any aggression.

I’ll update with more info soon

Yes Parvo Virus can live in your house and garden.
Sunlight will kill it outside but areas where to dog went to the toilet should be sprayed with bleach or a disinfectant that kills parvo.

Inside the house the area the dog was in needs to be washed with a strong solution of bleach or other disinfectant ( not supermarket ones).
All bedding and toys should also be treated.

Very sorry to hear what happened.

Ideally he should not be washed until the stitches come out but if it becomes vital you can cover the area including the stitches with Vaseline and that will waterproof the stitches.
I know it awful when they smell but another short term option is to wipe him down all over with Baby Wipes, this will help.

You can also sponge bath the main parts with warm to hot water a tiny amount of shampoo and squeeze sponge tight and wipe all over.

There are also dry shampoos for dogs but I don’t know how good they are.

If he is nervous it would be best for you to start this cleaning, washing procedure at home where he feels safe.
Going to a strange place and all the noisy equipment would not help his disposition at the moment.
    Good Luck.

Well Congratulations Marley and Thank you so much for the card we really appreciate hearing from past pupils.
You are looking great and very good to help with fostering the next kids on the block. They will be grateful for your guiding paw and confident calm approach which helps them settle and move forward.
You look very cute with your little sister….another blonde doglet.
    See you around.
