I think that is a good reason not to go to the fun day. Whish you all the best, marv weather and loads of usefull presents.
For us, Snoop and I will try to make it. Although I am not sure how to get there yet. My SatNav is a little bit on the old side … At the end I will try and follow the barking
RikaMemberWe will go on the Shannon next Saturday, dog allowed. One week on the boat with the fury friend.
But the live-vest for the dog has to be brought by yourself and the company we rented the boat might not be too happy to accomodate big dogs but there are a good few out there where you can bring even a bigish dog.Happy Holidays
RikaMemberooh, saw it too late, you are all having fun now without Snoop.
Enjoy!!RikaMemberI did a HV yesterday with a family who would love to addopt Oscar. Just hope it would work out as there is already a young lady living with the family and we all know how picky the girls can be
All the best Oscar, you already have loads of hearts on your side. Sure now you will find the perfect place to stay.
RikaMemberClever Girl!
But I would also not recommend the radio fence. Dogluver mentioned one of the reasons and by the way are banned in a good few countries in Europe as cruel to animals. Goes along with bark/training-colars.
The only advice is really to keep her busy and leave the 30ft lead on her when she is in the garden. That way you can catch her easier by just stepping on the lead.
Train with her on the long lead more, call her every now and then and give her a treat when she comes. If she does that you can dropp the lead so she drags it behind and then keep calling her. This takes time and does not solve the problem with escaping but she will come back eventually.
Good luck you 2, it seems you have a lovely bundel of energy.
RikaMemberThe dog class sounds like a good plan.
If there is none around I would make sure that she first of all settles in nicely with you, that will take a few weeks/month.
For walkies you could use a 15 or 10 Meter lead she can drag behind her, instead of having her on the leash you can at any time step on the end of the lead to get her back if she does not listen.
What that has to do with the barking and so on? Dogs on a lead behave different then off lead. The drag-lead will giver her freedom to sniff around without the lead feeling.
This usualy helps with agression towards other dogs.On the lead, I have to say my little terrier is the same as yours, barking at everything, from snowman to great dane. But he is absolut different without it. He wags his tail and sees if there is a play in it.
Good luck!!
RikaMemberI have the very same from an "everything-but-usefull-shop" that is how I call them pound world and euro shops
I find the material very thin, if your dog would have a go on it, esp. a bigger dog, I assume it would rip easy. Also the stuffing gets lumpy, but a shake here and then and it is OK again.
If it does the job for a year, I am happy. Well Mr. spoiled has 4 beds But don’t be shocked by my review, it is a good bed just wanted to point at the weak areas too.
Happy beding
RikaMemberoh this gourgeous little man.
He could be Snoops brother also from his behavoir. Full of fear but attack is the best defence.
Sure he will come around soon if he is not only the younger look alike version of Snoop the new Family will have the most loyal, lively and also quiet dog.All the best Rusty!
