Hello! Meet Lulu!
She is very affectionate, snuggly and eager to please. Bar a little accident this morning, she seems more or less house trained. We are working on walking on the lead, which has been made a lot easier with the use of a harness. So far she has shown no reaction other than friendly curiosity to both dogs and cats. She is quiet as a little mouse, and has the cutest little underbite and floppy ears. She is TEENY TINY (maybe 3.5 kg) and accepts any and all handling with kisses and nuzzles. She is extremely timid and hand shy, but ever so gentle. Full of kisses and snuffles! She loves being held like a baby, and will give gentle little ear nibbles and happy little snuffly grunts to show her appreciation. She is very lively and alert, and will run for Ireland on the long lead.
We’re working on building her confidence, as I suspect she may have been badly handled in the past. Sunny and sweet as she is, she would do best in a home with no young children, as she is very easily spooked by loud noises and sudden movements. She could live with another friendly, easy-going dog, although she would be just as happy (if not happier!) being your one and only!

Good morning Lulu, "guess what", or should I say "guess who" is following you – its ME ![]()
Lulu is such a lil puppy! Full of beans! She wants to meet everyone she passes, although if they move towards her too quickly or reach down to pet her she cowers and hides behind me. She’s young enough and sweet-tempered enough that she’ll be able to overcome her fear with patience and socialisation. We’ve been walking on busy roads and quiet paths, through crowded train stations and past construction sites…she gets better with every walk. The Fat Westie tries *really* hard to play with her, but as soon as he gets vocal or starts moving around too much, she panics. Hopefully with time she’ll get more accustomed to dog play…she clearly never learned how to read dog language during her short little life. She loves to play with her human friends, and is a big fan of catching feet under the blanket! She’s displayed some separation anxiety, which we are working on (although she may never be the kind of dog who is happy spending large periods of time alone). She’s absolutely *desperate* for attention and affection.
All told, she is a stellar little dog. Sweet. Clever. House trained. Energetic. Cute as all get out! All she needs is a lap of her very own to curl up on!

Just as nature intended you fabby little thing that you are ![]()
Well, how is this twinkly little soul getting along? ![]()
Lulu has come on in leaps and bounds since she landed with us. She’s like a different dog! SO playful! SO joyful! Such a little rascal! She’s taken to thieving little bits and bobs and hiding them in her crate….socks….iphone leads….bits of carrot robbed from the bin. She’s a right little sneak!
She’s also playing with the Fat Westie now, although as soon as the play gets too boisterous she ditches the game and comes running for snuggles. She’s still super nervous of loud noises and sudden movements, but she’s gotten much better about not cringing if someone reaches down to pet her or pick her up. Today she made friends with some Italian tourists in the Phoenix Park, and would have happily trotted off after them had she not been on the lead!
She’s blossoming into the happy, healthy little dog we always knew she would be with a little kindness and love. It will be a wrench to give her up (we would keep her forever if we could!), but I will be so happy to see her settled in her very own home, loved, safe and secure for the rest of her little life! <3
It’s lovely to read about Lulu’s progress.
I’m falling in love with her. So wish I could home her.
No doubt there’ll be a queue soon. What a pixie

Happy Easter. ![]()
Lulu goes for her spay tomorrow, so today we have treats, snuggles and naps in the sunshine. ![]()

Lulu had her spay done today, and she’s feeling a bit sorry for herself! However, true to form, she’s been as sweet and docile a patient as anyone could wish for. As she’s so biddable, we’ve let her sleep off the effects of the anesthesia without the awful Cone of Shame (closely watched, of course!), and she has left her sutures alone. No doubt she’ll be back to her cheeky, sunny self by tomorrow!
Many thanks to Claire Ann for picking her up and dropping her back home today. Like they say, it takes a village to spay a puppy! ![]()
