This boy is in danger of being PTS. Dogs in Distress would love to help him, he is a 2 year old male bernese mountain dog x collie (he is a large dog!). He has not been treated well in the past, here is what we know about him so far –
He has damaged right eye..not much vision in it id say.. bit head shy around it if he dosn’t see you coming!!..He loves rolling in grass and is excellent around other dogs..reluntant to go into car but travels fine.
Can anyone foster this boy until we can get him neutered, vaxed and chipped and find a new home for him?

February 15, 2009 at 10:50 pm #83443scoo_muMemberHi. This beautiful dog is with me at the moment. He is in need of a foster home. Sadly i can no longer mind him. I sadly lost my job the day after taking him on. This boy who i call bear bear, is really great. He gets on fine with females and neutered males. My boy scooby is not tolerating him, Bear ignores him but scooby keeps being mean to him. He is great with his blind eye. He just loves cuddles and attention. He has had a bad start, but has made so much progress so far. He is no longer scared of everything. He is anxious around children. So a foster without small children is a must. He met my niece and was wary. If anyone could foster bear Bear/ Jerry, i would be grateful as my life was turned upside last tuesday and i am probably going to have to move to get a new job if i get one at all… So if anyone has room for a big dog, who takes up so little space, and is so quiet, and loves a walk, and is great on the lead, he is a little house trained but is marking a little out of anxiety. He is a wonderful natured dog. He just needs a little more socialisation until he is ready for his forever home.. I will post some pics of him later.

We have no dogs, cats, or kids, so he’ll be absolutely swimming in love and attention until he can find a nice forever home! Please email me at alimbail@gmail.com if we can help out!

ThanksFebruary 26, 2009 at 4:22 pm #83715scoo_muMemberi made the decision last friday to have Bear put to sleep. It was a very hard decision. I felt that Bear would not have been adoptable. He growled at my niece. It wasn’t so much the growl, it was the situation. Isabelle was only standing there not talking or anything, and Bear walked over to her and growled. I could not live with myself if he bit Isabelle, or another Child.
In saying all this, Bear was still a lovely dog, He had been through hell before coming to me, He had been abused, I couldn’t rub him down his back. It took two weeks for me to be able to do that. I still miss him, and i love him a lot. He touched my heart so deeply. I hope now he is at peace. I hate his previous owner for doing the damage that destroyed him, He was such a lovable dog, and with the correct socialisation, Bear would have made a beautiful, loving, caring, lovely family pet. I miss him so much, he was great with me, he put so much trust in me, and i feel i betrayed him. Bear couldn’t even handle any loud noises, he would hide away. He was a beautiful dog destroyed by a pathetic owner.I love you Bear, i wanted to help you so much, i am sorry i couldn’t help you. Your owner ruined you. I hope you have full sight now again in heaven, and you are having fun, i really love you and miss you Bear..
