This little man was given to a child and as his mother wouldn’t allow him to keep him, the family were going to ""throw"" him out

Picture 304.jpgApril 30, 2011 at 8:17 pm #103885ColganFamilyMemberWell I took possession of this little man today and he is just like a triplet to the Munchie / Minnie Twins!! He is so like Minnie in looks and voice – they both have the same little cute bark. He has settled in well with us even though he is being kept FIRMLY in his place by the minx and the munchkin!! He has started to fight his corner this evening and he is snoring away on my lap as I type. He is a real cuddle monster with a bad dose of lap fever – any available lap will do when he wants a rest. All in all a real sweetheart. Munchie is heading off tomorrow and Minnie will be very glad of Pepper’s company – we were really afraid she would miss Munchie terribly. Just getting to know the wee man. Will update again soon.

CAM_0483.JPGMay 6, 2011 at 11:06 am #104942ColganFamilyMemberThis little man is a CHARACTER!!! He is the funniest, quickest, most agile, most alert little guy imaginable. He can climb like a mountain goat, balance on his hind legs like a ballerina, jump like an Olympian and dance like Michael Flatley! He is chocfull of attitude and personality and he has taken the house here by storm – in the nicest possible way. He seems to know to sit when asked but I don’t think he was ever taught. He is really in tune with tones of voice and loves to be spoken to by any of the humans in the house. He adores laps and will find any available lap for a snooze when he is tired – but I must say he doesn’t tire easily!!! He has boundless energy!!! A real intelligent little man, a very unique individual and a pure joy to foster!
CAM_0498.JPGMay 13, 2011 at 6:49 pm #105050ColganFamilyMemberPoor little Peps has been down in Terenure vets since Sunday and we are missing him like crazy here. He has succumbed to some sort of tummy bug and he has been really sick. I have been visiting him and today he appears to be on the mend – he is a little brighter and has started to eat and drink. Can’t wait to get him home so all fingers crossed please.

May 13, 2011 at 8:40 pm #105052IndiannaMemberEverything on me that can be crossed is crossed. I hope he REALLY is on the mend. Sounds like a little fire-cracker and so very cute into the bargain
May 14, 2011 at 11:56 am #105063kaydoyleMemberThis special little man has hopefully turned the corner and is on the mend and will be home soon with Susan and her fantastic family who visited him twice every day
Picture 334.jpgMay 17, 2011 at 10:56 am #105092ColganFamilyMemberWell we are still visiting this poor little guy in the vets But the good news is he is DEFINITELY on the mend. He has really brightened up in the last few days, he is off the drip, eating and drinking and dying for a play when I bring him out to the run at the back of the vet premises. He has had residual vomiting up to yesterday though and that is why he is still there. I can’t WAIT to get him home. I am really hoping for tomorrow cos it breaks my heart to leave him crying after me when I go to visit him Thanks to everyone who said a little prayer and sent a positive thought to Pepper – it really helped. Will let you know the minute he is home
Picture 337.jpgMay 21, 2011 at 8:58 am #105140ColganFamilyMemberMy poor little Peps is home at last. We are thrilled to have him home but the severity of his sickness and his prolonged spell in the vets have really taken their toll on him. He has lost a lot of weight which is especially noticeable cos he has grown taller and he seems to have really long legs holding up a very thin body! However the "Colgan Convalescent Home" is prepared to do whatever it takes to restore this special little guy to full health and wellness. No new photos as yet – just waiting for him to gain a little flab!!! Thanks to everyone for their good wishes while he was laid up.

you really are true animal loversMay 21, 2011 at 3:31 pm #105148laineyMemberHow lucky is Pepper?????? I think the Colgans may need more sofas though…………………….
May 21, 2011 at 7:34 pm #105143ColganFamilyMemberWe have just levelled up the human – canine ratio with the adoption of Pepper. It would just be too hard to let him go after all he has been through. My son, Adam, is the official adopter – he has wanted to adopt him from the minute he came through the door so he will make CANINE COLGAN number 5!!! Never saw that coming but some things are meant to be. . . Looking forward to getting him back to full fitness.
