I just had a look at pics of Nikkita aka Coco and Oh my god her and Rusty are the image of each other! I can’t believe how much they look like each other! He is very gentle, affectionate, loves to play and is very smart! I have new pics of him so I have to put them up. He’s not loving the cold weather at the moment but he’s enjoying being snuggled up on the couch with the heating on and the fire lighting, I like his thinking!

Thank God you agree so i’m not going mad I forgot to mention looking at that picture of Rusty walking around the yard I noticed that he has a wrinkly forehead coco is the very same. Its one of my favourite things about her . The good looks obviously run in the family . Ok well best of luck finding a home for him. I will be keeping an eye out for how he gets on.

November 25, 2010 at 11:51 pm #102926ptahaneyMemberI thought Rusty had been adopted. Thought he was reserved ages ago. Or was I mistaken?
November 26, 2010 at 9:32 am #102928kaydoyleMemberRusty did go to his new home, unfortunately his new owner decided she couldnt keep him because of his mixed breed This was through no fault of his own, his new owner spoke to a passerby in the park who said he had "bull breed" in him and his owner contacted us to say she was giving him back as she couldnt have that type of breed in her home
November 26, 2010 at 8:38 pm #102936dogsruleMemberRusty, thankfully, can’t change who or what he is; a loyal friend to a lucky someone. It’s a shame that the last person to "borrow" him listened to some random in a park who did not produce a CV but felt in a position to provide expert advice on the breed of a dog they didn’t know. Did they carry a DNA kit on them ? People out and about ALWAYS have something to say, mostly good sometimes not, some folks plain just dislike dogs (sad as that sounds).
My non-DiD dog is a collie cross terrier, a wolfhound mix, has the hind quarters of a bulldog, a fox terrier, a deer hound and all of this depends on the day of the week it is and the eye of the beholder (including vets who don’t agree it either )!
I can tell you, a good dog is a good dog regardless of breed. The Dog Whisperer’s dogs Daddy and son Junior…American Pit Bulls
Rusty, you’re a beauty, hugs and kisses from Dabs, Brandon and me! You’ll find
November 27, 2010 at 7:48 pm #102972TrinityMemberI honestly don`t know where that passerby got idea fromthat Rusty has "bull breed" in him My Trinity (labrador) sometimes looks more "bullish" whan she pull weird face than Rusty.Disgusted with some humans stupidity
November 27, 2010 at 11:02 pm #102974jenbearMemberThis really pushes my buttons. You can’t always tell the breed mix in a cross breed by just looking. And even if there were some bull breed in Rusty his is still a stunning dog and in fact his mix is irrelevant.
From my experience of staffies and bull mastifs, the ‘bull’ in them only means they are strongly built. They are the biggest softies and known as nanny dogs. Blame the owner not the breed. It’s irresponsible owners that give these breeds a (totally undeserved) bad name.
Anyway, it sounds like Rusty’s prefect family are still out there and he’s better off with a family who will love him for who he is.
November 27, 2010 at 11:14 pm #102975Joan KirwanMemberI have been fostering dog quite some time now and there is no Bull breed in this dog
Check out the post for one of my babies Nikkia … he looks like her ,,, and she a Lab cross, Dogs act as there taught no matter what breed they are.
November 28, 2010 at 12:52 pm #102984martinacareyMemberThe two boys that were in the home really loved Rusty and he loved them too and they were worried that him being handed back would affect his chances of getting another home even though it was nothing to do with him just what someone thought he might be. So even though he was given back and people are annoyed as to the reason I as his foster Mammy understand that. But there are two boys that may be reading these posts to see how Rusty is getting on so they’re upset enough to have lost a dog they loved without being upset even more with what people think about him being handed back. So lets just concentrate on finding Rusty a good home thats the important thing.
November 28, 2010 at 10:51 pm #102859alisonMemberWow, fair play to you martina, it can’t be easy to put all the frustration aside and think of those poor boys as well as little rusty. Hope he gets the fantastic home he deserves.
December 3, 2010 at 1:08 am #103128ptahaneyMemberI did the homevisit for this family & they were very nice. The boys really liked Rusty, even though at that stage they had just seen him on the forums…such a shame for all involved!
Hope Rusty finds a new home soon!
December 6, 2010 at 11:17 pm #103228martinacareyMemberWell Rusty has been having a ball in the snow! Most of the pictures we took of him his head was down as he was very busy eating it, it was like an all you can eat buffet!
He also made some new friends that he enjoyed playing with in the snow
He normally hates the cold but he was happy to potter around the back garden investigating the snow
He also enjoyed playing with Kas in the snow, they had a lot of fun rolling around in it!
He’s such a cute little man and full of love, hugs and kisses!
December 9, 2010 at 10:57 am #103288TrinityMemberHe is such a stunner hope he will get new home soon
December 15, 2010 at 8:15 pm #103447martinacareyMemberWell we got the decorations up in the house and we weren’t sure how Rusty would be with them, especially the tree with all it’s bobbles but he has completely ignored it all which is great! I thought he’d see the tree as a giant chew toy but I underestimated how well behaved our young man is! I’ve noticed how more mature he is now than the crazy pup that first came to us. We took him and Kas to St Annes park the other day for a big off lead walk with tons of other dogs and he was in Doggy heaven! He had sensory overload and didn’t now where to run or who to play with first He made some new buddies and spotted a big chocolate lab from across the park with the same personality as himself and ran straight over to him to play so they had a good chase! He really enjoyed his walk and had a nice long sleep when he came home!
January 4, 2011 at 11:10 pm #101595LuvMyFurKidsMemberWell Rusty is off to his new home tomorrow afternoon and I know he is a long awaited addition to his forever home.
New bed, lead, collar, bowls, treats, food everything waiting for his arrival.
And his new dad promises lots of updates on this special and stunning boy. -
