Russell’s new home :) (of two years!)

This is Russel who we adopted almost two years ago from Marie in Dunshaughlin. Since he has joined our family he’s given us a ton of joy and happiness! He’s the perfect dog We spoil him rotten! He sleeps in any bed he wants, usually Aislings!

He’s extremely well mannered and has really come out of his shell! He takes his treats really gently and never tries to take food from anyone, including the really young cousins! He comes to our grandads every saturday and loves seeing his female cocker spaniel named Sandy, they’re inseperable! We walk him every day and he’s even able to run around off lead in the enclosed fields around the castle. He always greets other dogs and is extremely social! He LOVES swimming in the river and even tries to when its freezing out!

He sits at the back door after being out in the garden and gives us his paws to dry with his red towel


We’d like to thank Dogs in Distress for giving us Russell, who we love to bits and is truly a member of the family. We could not imagine life without him! Thank you again and keep up the great work!

Awww, what a cutie! Absolutely delighted that Russell has found such a wonderful home where he is truly loved. Its so heart warming to read all these lovely success stories on the boards, when there is so much heart ache out there. I bet your Russell probably didnt look like that when you rescued him……. Big thank you for doing your bit for D.I.D. He’s a beautiful dog and may you all have many more happy years together

Awh thank you so much No he was extremely reserved and shy and didnt even know what to do with toys! :O It didnt take him long to figure it out and now he has tons I love reading these stories also, it’s refreshing to see so many like-minded people when there’s so much cruelty out there!
