Oh my god they remind me of Tiny, Tess & Tyson that we fostered over a year ago. They were only 5 weeks old when they came to me and the spit of your little puppies.

Roxy is in a foster home at the moment with her pups so will only be looking for a forever home. If you are interested in adopting Roxy you will have to submit an adoption application.
Thanks

May 17, 2009 at 1:11 pm #85022MauraMemberThanks Kay for minding the babies for me. Its been great to have them from day one as I never had the real puppy experience before. Roxy is missing them but she,s not too bad. thanks again. Maura.
May 18, 2009 at 7:46 pm #85053MauraMemberWell all my babies are gone to their new homes and we are all missing them terribly. Poor Roxy is beside herself with grief. We,ve had a terrible time with her as she is looking for her babies everywhere. She is so upset and she is crying all the time right up into all our faces and its horrible to see. So i,ve been to the vets and have come back armed with diffuser, and calm aid so hopefully this will improve things for her. I had to resort to giving her Bachs flower remedy last night as it was all I had. She came to bed with me and spent the night in and out of the bed pacing the house. I took her for a big long walk twice in the night and she has been walked again today. The poor little thing. She has been a fantastic mammy and is not an ounce of trouble so it is heartbreaking to see her like this. The babies are all gone to brilliant homes from Kaydoyles house and I,m looking forward to the updates. Have great lives my little ones. Lots of hugs and cuddles. Your foster mammy Maura and your real mammy Roxy. xxxx

May 24, 2009 at 12:18 am #85176DID RescueKeymasterWell done Maura for taking this little girl on in her hour of need.
You did a fantastic job with her and more importantly with her babies even though this was a first for you…………you coped very well. You have now been upgraded to maternity nurseAll these babies have had the best start in life anyone could ask for well fed, well loved and most importantly well cuddled.
I do hope we get updates and the new familys realise how lucky they are to get such good pups, in such good condition and well adjusted. The reason I am stressing the care our foster homes give is as follows……… I was shocked by this today, I shoud not be but I still am.
A lady bought a three month old Scotttish Terrier pure bred 4 weeks ago in Wexford and paid 350.00 euros.
For that she got no papers, no vaccinations .
She took the pup home and had to go to a vet immediatley as the pup couldnt eat as it was worm infested and full of fleas.
Since then the pup is terrified of everything, wees in her bed, has not been weaned properly, has difficulty eating, scared of toys and is really having a difficult time. The vet told her the pup will probably always be like this as in generally shy and never be a confidant little person. The owner phoned the breeder to find out where the pup had lived and was told in a she on straw.
Now tell me how this is allowed, acceptable or humane.
Yet all our pups for a minimum donation of 150.00 euros are properly wormed, vaccinated, microchipped, socialized, loved, fed the best food, have treats, toys, dont fear humans and have lived in a home environment. This makes me sick that these people are making money out of dogs misery and not putting one ounce of effort in and better still in a recession people paying for the privelage of buying a disfunctional puppy.
What is wrong with people if they were buying a car they would get it checked out but they are buying a little person who will be with them for the next 10 to 15 years possibly and they do nothing………not even a vaccination card.
I REALLY DESPAIR.Sorry for the rant and I dont want to take away for Mauras pups but to point out how lucky people are getting a pup from Dogs In Distress.
May 24, 2009 at 1:40 am #85181MauraMemberHi all. Well the good news is Little Miss Roxy is just beginning to settle after the ordeal of losing her babies to wonderful new homes. She is starting to relax and is not crying so much.Just the odd little whimper when something reminds her of her babies. She is having two walks a day in the park and has become a bit of a celebrity for her antics. She loves to play with the biggest dogs she can find and she makes them all chase her as she is alot more nifty on the paws than they are and it is hilarious to watch. She loves all dogs and hasn,t got an ounce of fear in her. She is so friendly with everyone and is great with kids. She is a beautiful little dog. Very striking. She does the sit, give the paw and roll over I discovered. She adores company and as I,m working it,s not the ideal situation for her since the babies went. She is improving on the lead and is fine walking back from the park, going there is another story, she is always in such a rush, She only weighs about 5lbs so she is easy enough to manage. She is a sweet little thing. Will keep you posted. Dying to kow how the babies are, Maura.

May 28, 2009 at 10:05 am #85333sonyandjimmyMemberHi all,
Just to give you an update, we have Rosie and she is just adorable. We also have Alex who is 6 times the size of her but that doesnt stop her ruling the roost!! We love the two of them and they are working out well. They snuggle into each other and play for hours. She likes to winge but its usually to tell you she wants to be picked up…she is just so cute. They are both now sleeping through the night and are eating well. I have taken lots of photos of them and I will post them very soon as well as keep you up to date. Thanks
Son
