Baxter continues to be a lovely dog. He is getting on very well with our cat, older dog and young dog, as well as the family of course. He loves to swim and has jumped into the pond at the park several time. When he is walked along the coast path he spends a lot of his time looking at the water and checking out the rocks. Baxter was very excitable when he first arrived and he has calmed down quite a bit – no longer barking at everything he sees while in the car. He adjusted very quickly to our household and I think he is very clever.DSC01510.JPG

Baxter gets better every day. He is so calm around food – never any worries at feeding times. Baxter jumped around in the sea the other night on our walk and always makes a bee line for the creek in the park so he would love a home where he can have some fun in the water. I didnt have much to say but wanted to keep this fellow out there and to stress again what a nice dog he is.DSC01513.JPG

Here’s a shot of Baxter and his buddy Ribery. Poor Ribery has to eat on the counter or Baxter will grab his dish but otherwise the cat doesnt seem too put out and Baxter ignores him pretty much. Baxter’s expression is somewhat sad but he isnt a sad dog. He’s a pretty happy chap and loves to be part of whatever is going on.DSC01516.JPG
Wow Liv……im amazed at how Ripley is allowing Baxter so near he must me a very calming dog for a cat to be that comfortable with a dog in its space…..Good on you Baxter its another box ticked for your forever family when they come find you!
He really is a good dog. He is a big strong puppyish fella. But he does have an inner calm! I also have a dog who is almost 14 who has a tumour on his side and he is slowing down and I have to be careful that I dont stress him too much with the fostering and all but Baxter is very careful and gives Adam a wide berth and is very considerate. He knows that he can play with my younger fella (former DID dog)
Max and give the cat the odd half hearted chase but he knows when to stop too. Baxter is lovely when he is running. Someone in his previous life must have taken a knife to one of his ears – its shorter and a different shape than the other and also cut his tail – perhaps in an attempt to make him look like a different type of dog – perhaps to make him seem fierce – its hard to know why. So he’s not that symmetrical but I think he has a really cute look. It goes without saying – but I’ll say it – he’s neutered, microchipped, vaxed and wormed and ready to go to his new home wherever that may be… please dont over look this guy – he’s a wiggly bundle of fun.
Baxter has been a good boy. We have taken lots of walks and he is very good at ignoring people now and is not pulling the lead so much. He’s a good pupil.
He had a major food binge today – all healthy food for people but not sure if it was all that suitable for dogs. He robbed a punnet of cherries, a red pepper, a yellow pepper and a whole raw turnip off the counter. I dont know what got into him. My husband says we need a cctv camera in the kitchen. There’s never a dull moment with Baxter!DSC01517.JPG
Some photos of Baxter from today:

And of course, Baxter thinking about eating the camera:

He’s hard to photograph, he never wants to sit still long enough…
Baxter is delighted to be dog of the month – in celebration here are some photos of him hanging out around the house!
Asleep on the sofa beside me:

He’s confused and intrigued by the hoover, and wants to make friends with it, though he’s not sure how:

And a video of Bax being very polite and obedient, giving me the paw, lying down, and rolling over (all on cue I promise, no idea why the sound isn’t working!)
hope you had great day baxter was nice to meet you today ![]()
as you can see baxter was happy to meet and greet ![]()

I met Bax today and all I can say is wow! he is a fab dog extremely intelligent and quick to learn, he loves his grub so I think he’ll learn to walk to heel in no time as after a few treats he clicked as to what he needed to do very quickly
He is fab with other dogs, we brought our two labs to meet him and they had lots of fun playing together off the lead and even when we walked them on the lead they all walked side by side like they had been friends forever.
This beautiful boy will be a fantastic addition to any family he is extremely friendly and I must admit he stole my heart in the two hours we spent with him, I think myself and my other half are in love!!!
I hope this great guy finds his forever home soon, god knows whoever gets him will be counting their lucky stars as he is one in a million, I really mean that ![]()
As soon as he stops running in circles with our two lunatics I will get some pics of this fab dog
I can’t believe this beautiful boy is still looking for his forever home I really cant, Baxter needs to be taught to walk to heel and a few basic bits of obedience training but these things are easily sorted he is extremely smart and I am sure he will pick these things up in no time ![]()
All Baxter needs is lots of love and he will give it back ten fold if not more
pics soon I promise.
A big thanks to Kay, Sarah and Liv for everything today, its appreciated more then you could know ![]()
As promised

He is so funny he has had us in stitches already, he was so respectful of our two lunatics when he came in the door and within half an hour they were playing chase around the back garden ![]()
He is lying at my feet right now shattered after his busy evening playing chase. I am going to give him a day or two to settle in and then we’ll start training him to walk to heel and a few other bits.
He truly is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. He is already met some of the neighbour’s here and they were all blown away at his lovely nature they couldn’t believe he didn’t have a forever home! Everywhere I look around the sitting room there are doggies asleep and content…..life’s good! ![]()
Hi everyone, sorry I haven’t posted in the last few days I’ve had a crazy few days in work
Baxter has settled in here brilliantly its like he has always been here
I just want to keep Baxter in everyone’s minds, this fab guy really needs to find his forever home so he can have stability in his life, I really cant understand why he doesn’t have people begging to get their hands on him. He is an extremely loyal companion, an absolute pleasure to have around other dogs and gentle with children….what more could anyone be looking for.
I will get some more pics of this sweet boy and post them so everyone can see how handsome he is
will post again 2mor…… ![]()
e had Baxter for awhile before we went away he is such a great dog, hope he is very happy with his new foster home. I know how excited he will be having two pals to play with.
I have never before met an dog with such personality he really is entertaining, very curious between the tv, fish tank or the washing machine he has to inspect everything. He’s a very well natured dog and will really make some one happy all it takes is a minute with him to see how lovable he is. Hope he finds a forever family soon.
Here is just a few pics of him we have that we hadn’t posted yet.
