IMG_00001234.jpgJuly 4, 2013 at 9:16 am #116293KeavesMemberHi Everyone!
Rath came to us on Tuesday and his name was swiftly changed to Solomon/Sol for short! So we have a queen Sheeba and a King Solomon in the house! He doesn’t know it yet but I think he’ll take to it over time, we tried all the syllables and sounds to see if he responded to something but we got no response from our alphabet and sound singing on Tuesday
As Kathy said he is only 24kg at the moment its shocking to rub him, his fur is disguising the extent of how skinny he is, hes skin and bone, so much so his temples/area around the eyes and skull are sunk in his head His coat is so dry that when you rub and cuddle him your covered in a powder of skin gross I know but it will all be sorted soon and in the time being we have the hoover set up beside his den His hair came out in chunks yesterday during a groom, also had to get the scissors to a few matts and then a bath! Soooo he is now a fluff ball He didn’t like/know how to use the stairs and had to be coaxed up and down poor pet!
Hes a bit over enthusiastic when it comes to food understandably and will grab it from you as quick as he can but were working on the que "Gentle" but in turn we’ve learned his teeth are in great shape
Him and Sheebs are getting along grand she likes to lay near his baby gate and just stare at him! He isn’t bothered by her at all his only interest is food at the mo; so much so he when he walks by the GIANT bag (how did you lift that Kathy???) he pops his head in for a quick bite before walks They’ve had their walks together and wanders around the house and garden but were keeping them mostly separate until Sheebs relaxes and stops shoving her nose in his ear for an oddly long amount of time
Ill try get some better pics of him up soon!
Had our first proper tail wag this morning too

Do you think Sheeba is whispering to him that he is now safe and will be cared for? Will be following your new foster dog and have everything crossed that he gets to full health and well-being in the next few weeks. Poor boy.
July 4, 2013 at 10:21 am #116295LuvMyFurKidsMemberSol what a lucky boy you are now ….. you are safe, you’ll be fed regularly, you’ll get to go on walks, you have a playmate, you have a foster family and most importantly you will experience LOVE.
You have your own band of followers now in D.I.D who will wait patiently for your every instalment!
July 11, 2013 at 6:30 pm #116394KeavesMemberSol has been with us a week and a half now and he is a character!! Acts much younger than 6/7 and more like a cat than a dog at the moment
He LOVES any attention and will push his head under your hand for cuddles or crawl under or around your legs (like a cat) and push up against us for reassurance and rubs! He really is just a big baby! and mouths at us like a puppy!
He is a bit unsure of Sheebs attempts to play and just any attention from her really but hopefully after a few more weeks he wont come hiding behind us when shes sniffing him (tail wags the whole time so fingers crossed).
He is still skin and bone but a lot less flaky! He loves his grub so its just a time thing until hes a puddin’er and he is getting much better with our "gentle" que and will sit and wait for food now until told to "go eat" – he drools like a running tap for the whole sit/stay 5 seconds that he has to wait!
My minds gone blank so I will report back soon with more!

August 20, 2013 at 1:23 pm #116856KeavesMemberSolly has been with us just over 7 weeks now I think and he is doing brill!
He has all the basics down! He answers to his new name now, Sol or Solly which sometimes gets his attention better!
He is a star on the lead, he is so good and just trots beside us when hes on and off lead too. He really doesn’t venture far at all when off lead and swiftly comes back no hesitation with a quick whistle ( he could SERIOUSLY teach sheebs a few things )
Hes grand in the car whimpers a bit out of excitement when the car slows down or is just taking off but once we pick up speed he relaxes!
Still gets excited about food but once you tell him to sit and stay he’ll wait patiently however will drool like a tap out of protest at being made wait And he now takes food nice a gently from our hands!
He does not like water at all likes to drink it and spread it all around the kitchen floor but is not so keen on swimming, He will paddle his toes alright but if a wave or a splash comes his way hes outa there! He sometimes avoids walking through puddles too poor pet nearly knock himself out after he slipped on a rock on the beach which was covered in sea weed while avoiding stepping over a 4 inch stream!
He loves a good cuddle much like a cat he will wind himself around you rubbing and arching his back its very funny! Wont jump on the furniture either and prefers to lie on the floor stretched out nice and in the way of usually!
He has an amazing temperament and is so gently when using his mouth and will drop what ever he has if you ask or when playing with toys. He knows how to play fetch too and will drop the ball near enough to your feet
His weight is slowly coming on him, he had an upset tummy a few weeks back which set him back a bit but id say he is around 29 30 kilos now. Other people say they can see a difference in him which is good and in fairness there is definitely a little tiny layer off fat over his ribs but he sort of still looks the same to me!

2013-08-19 16.04.16.jpgSeptember 6, 2013 at 5:12 pm #117046KeavesMemberToday was the first day that I gave Sol his morning cuddle and thought "oh your getting big" There is a nice thin layer of fat all over but he still needs to fill out around his back legs/thighs and his chest and head!
He really is like a cat when it comes to rubs and cuddles and just tries to wrap himself around you! This morning he wanted his bum scratched while I stood in the kitchen, so he wound himself between my legs so we were both facing opposite directions, I couldn’t refuse his request
He LOVES to play flight with us and is sooo so so gentle about it! He opens his mouth and just dives onto the floor or your legs or arms for cuddle/fight! Him and sheebs are still trying their best to figure out how to play with each other tho ; Sol doesn’t understand that Sheebs likes to be vocal about play time and backs off once she grumbles so in turn she is trying to be really quite about it its all so confusing but were hopeful they’ll get their act together
