This is the breathtakingly tiny and beautiful Poppy. We were told she might be a Yorkie cross, but I don’t think so, and a woman in the park with a little Yorkie confirmed my assessment. She could be some kind of mix, but she also looks like a full miniature Pinscher puppy. If so, they’re wonderful little animals, but there are some things one might want to consider before adoption: they are delicate dogs, getting no bigger than 3.5 to 5 kilos so probably wouldn’t be best for a family with very active young children, unless they were taught to not be too rough with her. She would also need daily walks, some training, and socializing with other puppies if she would be the only dog.

But she is utterly adorable. So, so tiny, and playful and attentive – a big dog in a little dog’s body.

    What a tasty pillow

    What a tasty toy

    Yummy fingers!

    All this chewing is exhausting

Oh, and Mini Pinschers are not related to Doberman Pinschers, but are terriers, so have the energy level and tenacity of a terrier.

She looks really happy and contented. She was with me for one night and I agree she has a wonderful personality. Whatever suitable home rehomes her, will be very lucky. Such a sweetheart. Thanks Mimi for all the info and kindness and gorgeous photos.

:? The more I look at Poppy the more like a Border Terrier she looks, or a bit of Border in there somewhere I think. Super sweet.

I take it all back – I now agree that the sparkling little Poppy probably is Yorkie or Yorkie mix. She is a little cracker whatever she is. Hope she finds her way to her very own family soon, although I am sure she is perfectly happy with her foster family.
