Thanks a million ![]()
collected pepper from the pound yesterday and had the pleasure of his company til about 8.30 or so and my what a pleasure he was. He is the sweetest most gentle guy ever and just wants to be close to you and would not let me out of his sight at all. I even had him on my lap while I drove from ashton!! luckily i dont live too far away. he is so quiet and has the saddest eyes. We had a lovely walk around the estate and he met some other dogs who he was brilliant with. He did not pee at all in my apartment so may be house trained and he went to his bed no problem but whenever I sat down on the couch he was up beside me snuggling into me..so so cute!. His dewclaws are badly in need of clipping and one is def infected so he needs some tlc there. I love this guy..no trouble what so ever but just a loyal cuddly friend. I miss him when he left with Justine. Best of luck in your new foster home. Here are some pics I took while he was with me. Hugs to you pepper…xx

Little Pepper settled in quickly, very quickly. He is relaxed, he seems really happy. He is very very quiet, calm and respectful.
We have been feeding him chicken & pellets. He seems to love these and spent much of last night investigating his new territory.
Hs greeting in the morning is very cheerful, wagging and welcoming.
He’s obviously very well trained, he must have come from a good home. Waiting at the back door to go out; sitting before being petted, calm when receiving his dinner.
He enjoys walks, he’s good on roads & the park. He loves making friends with other dogs and is not at all shy with them.
Overall he’s super calm & quiet and really easy to live with. He will make someone a wonderful companion.
I love his little pink nose and his personality sounds perfect. He sounds like he would make a great little pet for someone. Any idea how he is with cats?
I’ve no idea yet if he likes cats, but i’ll let you know soon. He’s very calm & friendly with others dogs. Today he let a big puppy chew on his ear!
He loves dogs so much that i think he’d like a home with another pet, so i’ll introduce him to the neighbour’s cat soon – my guess is they’ll be friends.
He’s at our feet now sleeping zzzzzzzzz cutie

Any idea on how old he is?
What he is like with children?
Thanks
He’s great with children. Pepper is a very chilled out, calm, mild dog and he’s definitely getting chirpier these days.
He is about 3 years of age (maybe a little younger). As he’s grown comfortable he snuggles up to us for a pet, and if we drop our hand he nuzzles his nose under our arm to get us back in action. He also ‘hugs’ us, which in his world means he presses his head into us – very cute!
Today he encountered a cat – he just sat and watched in awe for a while and eventually gave one bark – the cat ignored him – so he barked again. I think he could be happy around cats, though I’d like to test him more. He is extremely inquisitive when he encounters other dogs, and was well behaved on Christmas day which we spent with a Labrador.
He’s quiet in new houses, but pleasant.
We’re walking him off the lead these days – he’s been very obedient allowing us put him back on the lead. He LOVES to be let off the lead for him to investigate, he especially loved the harbour today, he runs around at full speed.
So far the only toy I’ve found him to like is a sweaky teddy, I’m trying to teach him fetch. He’s currently pushing my hand up to pet him – I must record it! He has lots of admirers, my family & friends all really like him.
As it’s Christmas holidays I’ve been sleeping in late, i get a gentle sound at my door at 10.30 every morning – then I get up and walk him.
Photos to follow…
Here is a video of the little fellow.
I posted it on youtube so that you can see him in action.
Pepper TV! It’s great to see Pepper in the flesh. He really is such a lovely dog – I was so impressed with him when I met him. I’m glad to hear he’s relaxing and coming out of himself a little. Even dogs who seem to be well adjusted in the pound are still under psychological pressure – getting them out and into a foster home does them so much good.
