Ref 389. Mondo is a brown and white male Jack Russell that was found straying in Batterstown Ballivor. This. Guy doesn.t miss a trick. He is bright-eyed and alert, a lovely little personality. 3-4 years.

If you can help this boy directly, contact Meath County Council’s Dog Sanctuary – Blackhall Boarding Kennels, Summerhill Road, Blackhall, Dunboyne, Co Meath. Tel: 01 802 6676.

Please, if you have any spare time could you print off half a dozen posters and put them up in the area he was found. Please, this may help to reunite him with his family. We just cannot cope with the amount of dogs and it would be great to see some of these dogs going home.

This poor little man took very ill overnight and had to be put to sleep this morning. Run free little pet……it is so sad that this poor little soul spent nearly 4 weeks in the pound :(

RIP poor Mondo. What a way to spend your final weeks, locked up 24/7
alone and unwell. No one to give you tlc or take you to the vet.
    Run free…………..

I too fear for all the others as the pound must be full as there are so many.

Please consider rehoming/fostering precious lives are at stake.
They will give you back the love and time 10 fold.

I have 5 myself including 1 from DID,1 from Ashton pound and 1 from Dunboyne pound so sadly not in a position to adopt another at the moment.

Such very sad news, poor little mite abandoned and with no one to love him. I do the Lotto every week hoping one day I will win enough money to take care of all the poor little friendless animals.

Heartbreaking…the poor little mite. In that horrible cell all alone. At least he is at peace now

There are times to be silent and times to speak out. There are times to be proud and times to be ashamed. There are times to be happy and times to be sad. Now is such a time. The recent death of Mondo in the Pound is a time for sadness and shame. Sadness, because he deserved better. Shame, because we didn’t do enough. How must that poor little mite have felt left abandoned, un-cared for, unloved, cold, lonely and sick for over four weeks in the Pound. Mondo’s death is unacceptable. It means we have failed. And we cannot fail, we must not fail and we will not fail because there are so many of these beautiful creatures relying on us, depending on us, hoping on us – and we owe it to them. How many of us saw his sad little face on the website and said to ourselves “someone will take him out.” We always think someone else will do it – well there isn’t always someone else to do it. If we can learn anything from this profoundly sad death let it be this – we must try harder. Otherwise poor Mondo will have died in vain. So, can we please, please look once again at those poor little mites in the Pound and see how many we can get out, if even just to foster homes for the time being. Because if we don’t it’s not just ourselves we are letting down, it’s every single dog out there. We’re so sorry we didn’t do enough for you, Mondo. God’s speed little darling. Enjoy your time in Rainbow Bridge. You may be gone from our lives but you will never be absent from our hearts. We will never forget you – XXXXX

It is also important to remember Mondo did not come in sick.
He got sick in the pound
The part I find so unacceptable is the fact that when healthy dogs are collected from the streets as strays to keep them safe etc and are locked up in a Council paid for facility where the likleyhood is they will get sick and as in Mondo’s case be pts.

He had a better chance left out on the streets.

    Shame on his owners.
Shame on this disposable society we live in.
    Shame on the unfeeling/uncaring world.
No life carry’s any value anymore not even human so what chance have animals in the greater scheme of things.
