Marco was a little apprehensive when he first arrived. He was a little fearful and nervous. He is coming out of his shell every day and is cute as a button. He is super in the garden chases around and loves it.
He is integrating real well with other dogs and they are all great friends. We are really spoiling him at the monent .He is typical Yorkshire and has us all wrapped around his little paw, will follow up real soon

I wanted to let you know the progress of Marco already. He has already come on in leaps and bounds in the last two days. He wags his tail alot and has fallen into a routine. Today he sniffed alot the grass and trees when I took him to St.. Stephen’s green park. On the way I was stopped by no less than four couples and a single guy who all owned a yorkie also. Two other people stopped me who had yorkie’s in the park, why all to say hello to Marco. He was nervous at first shaking alo meeting them and their dogs, but then two minutes later wagging his tail and happy. So many others came to me and stopped me to inquire about Marco. He is a film star and has all the qualities I hoped he would.
I cannot thank all the hard work you did before he was handed to me, and the work Marie the foster mum had done also.

I hope you can see the little man is flourishing and loving his walks. He is still nervous of other dogs a little, but he is so cute and intelligent that hes got his routine already and is loving his new life and will adapt to other dogs soon. Thanks again to all at DiD for my little buddy and trusting me and my partner to give him a good life. As the McDonalds ad´s say… he´s loving it!

Since marco has been with us it has been a complete transformation in lifestyle for us all. Me and my partner has had to adjust having a third member of the family, and equally Marco has had to adjust in his new surroundings. There has only been one incident when I had to take him to the vets, as he passed blood. But the vet assured me this was because he was overwhelmed with all the changes happening to him, and the stress manifested in this sort of action. I assure you he is settled down now.
Hes such a protective dog, and in the beginning he was barking at anyone that would approach me in his company. Over the last few months he has become accustomed to many people saying, wow what a handsome dog, or boy he´s a beauty where did he come from. So obviously Marco had to get use to this constant attention from strangers. I have explained his background and over time he got into a routine seeing the same faces, so he learnt to trust again, and realise that noone was going to cause him harm.
When I had visits to my home from friends, Marco would love this and get excited, the only problem that were still getting from Marco is when they leave the house. He goes mad and nips them at their feet. But this is only to tell them I dont want you to go. He has quitened down in this aspect alot. Nowadays, its 50-50 weather he does this, depending on his mood. But in time this too will stop when he realises people do come and go, and accepts this as a normal thing.
I recently gave him a booster injection, and a kennel cough. He is now at Mutugly in Ranlaeigh once every two weeks to socialise with other dogs, and its worked wonders already, yes, he barks at other dogs, only to show hey…im here look at me. But before he was frightened of most dogs. Mutugly has given him confidence and the soical aspect he misses from interacting with other dogs, especially when he came from interacting with other dogs at his foster home.
Next year I will sort out his passport, so when he is fully integrated in all aspects of life, and accepting of everything, he will then learn to travel to spain, and come on holidays too with me and my partner.. He has his routine and is such a clean animal. He uses the paper put down to do his business, and never does it anywhere else in our home. He was instinctive in this, I never trained him…how lucky was I!
His Aunties spoil him with toys, my friends say he has become like my left arm, always at my side. He´s amazing on the lead, and will walk until he drops…simply loves walking. He has in a short time whilst with us, settled down well, become like my shadow, and knows when my partner finishes work. Marco on a daily basis waits patiently at the door for their return, and goes mad on their arrival. Ha ha he knows when its mimo time..
These are more pictures of our little buddy in his home, and if you compare them to the origional website pictures, he´s totally changed. Physically he is strong, his back legs now have muscles! Facially he´s blossomed into a more handsome dog than before…how lucky is he! Socially he´s stettled emotionally, and has a life second to none. I have never forgotten the trust you placed in us adopting him, and in return we promised you that Marco would want for nothing. Marco its fair to say has a life other dogs only dream of, why. Because in return he thanks us, makes us laugh alot, is loyal and obidient, and has become our baby, our buddy, our best friend. Thanks DID, and I hope that others are inspired by this story to realise, the effort you put in to any animal you adopt, is rewarded time and time again by these dogs, through their love and compassion for giving them a second chance..

It seems like its been forever but Im finally here to update you all on whats happening. Marco is doing fine and he celebrated his first birthday with me and my partner recently. I´m so proud of this little man that I can not tell you how much he means to us each day just by having him here. Hes turned out to be a funny little thing always knowing when he wants to be fed, walked, and sleep, and play. He has developed a passion for snorting and when he does not have his own way you hear a little snort, like a piglet. Its funny but true!
