Oh my heart bleeds for all the poor loves in this section, special thoughts for this poor boy as dals are so sensitive and highly strung and really dont do well in a kennel / pound situation. Would love to give this lad a home but we’ve already three rescues, including two dallys already. Would have even fostered out of desperation but I’m due my baby on Monday so unfortunately cant. BUT I will do my bit to see if I can get him a home – one of my midwives mentioned that she wanted to get a dal for her brother, who is a serving guard, and very energetic. I have told her all about the needs of this breed and urged her to consider a rescue. Last time I saw her, she was still looking so I’ll get my hubby to try track her down on Monday when Im in hospital. Will get him to post immediately if we have any luck. Fingers crossed for all these babies! (That damned disney film is responsble btw for a lot of these dogs being abandoned – people dont realise just how high energy these dogs are)……….
This boy is gone on the next leg of his journey to find his forever home ![]()
This boy travelled to Scotland on Saturday to his new home but became unwell on Monday…this is from Anne who had adopted him
On monday he was lethargic, by tuesday he was throwing up all the time and severe diarohhea with live worms in it. Wednesday I took him to the vets and they did blood tests, xrays etc and then had to operate as he had twisted intestines and was vomiting live worms. His whole body was infested and he got blood poisoning due to his gut ruptured by worms.
Run free little man…

RIP little Dobby – how sad, when your new life was about to begin. At least you weren’t in the pound but were with your new family when you became ill. Run free you beautiful little boy….
So sorry to hear of Dobby’s tragic passing.
Devastating for all concerned and especially his new family.
Thanks for letting Dobbie experience love and family life, short as it was.Thoughts and prayers are with you Anne.
No more pain,run free Dobbie.
Yet another example of ignorance and cruelty.
How can someone afford to buy a dog and then cannot buy 4 worm tablets a year.
This really makes me angry. There is no excuse in this day and age for ignorance, so much information is available at the touch of a button or ask someone, people are always very willing to give advise.
This poor boy who finally had a chance to be looked after properly never got a chance to enjoy it.
