Picked up this little fella from the vets on Saturday, after his little op, he was a timid and shy little fella, but walked out to the car on the lead and travelled well in the car.
He was very shy when he arrived home and I think Dexter and Bonnie sensed his nervous disposition and gave him a wide berth as he settled in. We just left him to his own devices as he did not like you approaching him, no aggression or anything just shying away from you. After awhile he came over and sat at my feet I just ignored him to let him gain a little confidence, eventually he jumped up beside me on the couch and let me give him a little cuddle.
Yesterday morning when I came down stairs he was like a different dog I got a great welcome and he was jumping up to greet me I could not believe the difference, he has such a happy little face even though he is sporting his cone of shame at the moment.
He seems to be totally house trained as we have had no accidents in the house, shows no food aggression what so ever, even though I don’t think he has lived with another dog, and is getting on great with Dexter and Bonnie, I had my neices and nephews down at the weekend and there was no problem with the kids at all actually he was very gentle with them all, and seemed to come to them quicker than the adults.
Its seems once again I have been very lucky with fostering this little fella and I know he will be snapped up because he will definitely make someone a wonderful pet, whether he is the only dog or with other dogs.
Well this little fella is coming on really well, he is gaining confidence by the day is very nervous of men but this is definitely improving daily and will sit on my husbands knee now which is a great improvement.
He has the most wonderful temperment really placid and I still do not think I have heard him bark, going to bring him for a little walk this evening as he was not able to go walking following his little op.
He really is adorable and we do not even realise we have a 3rd dog in the house which is unusual. I am posting a picture of him sporting his cone of shame!!! can’t wait for him to have his stitches out on Saturday and I will give him a nice bath and a freshen up.

Chester is delighted to have his cone off and has great fun with Bonnie all weekend, he is so well behaved and everyday is gaining confidence with us, he has gone from not going near my husband to sitting on his knee and snuggling up to him, he is a really great dog, it would be great if he could get a forever home so that he can put down his roots permanently.
Hi just a little update on Chester, well he is coming on a treat and coming more out of his shell daily, we have a park at the end of our road, so I don’t put him on the lead at all and he runs along with my other two and then they take off in the park playing chasing and tiring one another out, when its time to go I just give them a shout and they all toddle back up the road again, he has fitted into our routine and comes in a sits in the kitchen waiting for his treat for being a good boy on his walk and coming in when told.
He now jumps up to greet my husband when he comes in which is a huge change from last week when he used to run into the garden if he came in the door. You get so much satisfaction when you see you are changing a dogs attitude to things. Here are some pictures of me and him having a snuggle after this bath.

Chester sounds like the perfect house guest! Fingers crossed he’ll soon find his perfect forever family.
I am off on holidays tomorrow so Chester in going into foster care with Fiona while I am away as I could not ask my sister to mind three dogs as she has two of her own. I am going to miss him now while he is gone and hope that he will settle in well while I am away. Selfishly I hope he is still here when I get back and not found his forever home but unselfishly I hope is finds a wonderful new forever home while I am away.
We are minding Chester for 2 weeks while his foster mammy and daddy go on holidays. Chester is a little dote, and settling in really well into our mad house! His foster daddy dropped him off yesterday and he was so nervous for the first few hours, if I put my hand out to pet him he backed off, so scared and frightened. Thankfully that didnt last. But what surprised me was how easily he went to our children who are aged 7 and 8. He immediately allowed them to rub him and play with them and was like a completely different dog with them compared to with me or Steve. Anyway, as the evening wore on he became a little more brave and eventually hopped up and joined us on the couch, he cuddled in and enjoyed lots of ear and belly rubs. He is definitely more cautious around Steve than with me, he must have been very badly treated in the past, but already there is great improvement with Steve who refuses to give up trying to play with him!
Chester is getting on really well with our puppy Daisy, they run around in circles together for hours in the garden and at the doggy park where we brought them this morning … our bischon Rocky is no more interested in Chester than he is in Daisy!
So, thankfully, all is going really well and what we have learnt is that Chester gets on great with kids, we have managed to gain his trust in less than 24 hrs and he likes other dogs!!!!! Roll up, roll up … fab dog available for adoption!!!

Day 3 with Chester and I can in all honestly describe him as a little treasure!
He just loves the kids, in particular my 7 yr old daughter, gets on great with Daisy (the dog!) and is now completely relaxed with myself and Steve; he gets so excited when we come down in the mornings, loves his cuddles on the couch and either sleeps or plays with Daisy for the rest of the time!
We went out in the car this morning to the park, this is no bother to him, he just hopped in to the back and sat on the floor, not a peep out of him and he walks really well on the lead after the initial excitement of setting off on our walk.
Chester is a great dog who I think would settle into any family home.
Chester has been with us for over a week now and he’s well a truly settled in. He’s a sweet natured little fella and yet he has lots of cheeky chappy charm about him too!
He’s got lots going for him; he’s toilet trained, he knows all the basic commands (sit, wait etc), he loves the kids (in particular my daughter), he’s nervous around men but he’s easily won over and it doesnt take long till he drops his defences, he’s a real little cuddler and loves his human friends, and the rest of the time he plays with our dog Daisy.
This is a dog that I KNOW will settle easily into a family environment, he’s easily pleased and really good natured, I hope this happens for him soon.

Chester left us on Monday for his new home. We only had him for 10 days but he’s left a big gap in our home, we just loved him. Daisy was particularly sad to see him go, she went to her bed and spent most of the day on her own (which NEVER happens), thankfully she seems to be back to her normal self now. Best wishes to Chester and his new family, I know they will be very happy together. x
Just a quick update on Chester – he’s getting along great with our dog, Kelda, in fact, they’re playing chasing in the garden as I type this
He’s certainly a very lovely little boy, and he’s settling in very well. He loves his cuddles and walkies, and we all can’t wait until he has completely settled in. In the meantime, here are some photos of him snoozing on his favourite spot on the couch!
