I saw this girl on Sunday with Ricardo. Honestly she is in a horrendous state. So sad to see, she just stood there and let the pound staff examine her. God love her, all of us milling around with the other doggies. Not a peep out of her. She looks exhausted and broken… poor pet
would gladly take this poor lady into foster. i honestly dont know what goes on in peoples heads when they do such horrible horrible things to these beautifal animals
Unfortunately photographs can’t show the terrible condition poor Cassie is in but for all that she remained quiet and good natured while we did what we could for her. She appears to have such a bad flea infestation that she had drawn blood from scratching. Her eyes are badly infected – she has many cuts and grazes and she is full of milk having recently had puppies which no doubt will be sold for a small fortune.
She actually looks pretty bad to me in the photos. You can see how infected her eyes are and she looks very very red from her milk teat. Poor girl, she is probably really missing her babies as well. I hope there is an extra happy ending for this girl. Fingers crossed someone can help her.
My boyfriend was out for a run by the canal on Sunday morning and saw a dog matching the description of this girl, as I had seen her up at the pound getting seen to. Sure to be it’s the same dog. He’s delighted to see she’s getting help as he was very concerned about her, she had a straggly rope around her neck and sprinted off as soon as he approached her…..he continued his run and found another dog in need in the Phoenix park which we have in foster with us now, she’s snoring on the couch as I write this
I hope Cassie makes a speedy recovery our hearts go out to her, she’s a beautiful girl.
Poor, poor Cassie. Thank God she made her way to Ashton – wherever she was previously must have been horrendous. If there is any way I can help this poor girl, please let me know. It’s heartbreaking. ![]()
Poor Cassie, It’s so heartbreaking to see a dog in such a horrible condition. We still have Kuma, another akita that was in bad condition with us but we’ll gladly take her when Jimmys off in two weeks and nurse her back to health.
Many thanks Martina, she was so good when we tried to help her on Sunday last – she deserves so much better.
Any news as to how Cassie is doing? I have all my fingers and toes crossed for her.
We went to see Cassie on Thursday and it was so sad, the poor girl is in such a bad way I just wanted to take her home there and then. I hope she stays strong while she’s in there til we can get her out.
Cassie looks so much better than she did last week. Her eyes are clearing up, her skin looks to be a bit better and her cuts are healing. She is in much better form and was wagging the tail today. She looked so much happier. It just shows how trusting dogs are…. it’s amazing to see. She’s a trooper.
She’s in great form Martina – waiting patietly for her chance at a new life. Many thanks to you and Jimmy.
I met Cassie close up today, lovely dog with a very gentle temperament. She seems to get on well with other dogs.
We were supposed to be collecting Cassie tomorrow but something has come up so it’ll be Sunday when we can take her out so give her hugs and kisses from us til we see her Sunday.
Cassie has gone into foster with Martina and Jimmy – many thanks.
