Am delighted she has settled in with you Sive – hope she and Gizmo do make it up. I know what you mean about the nice spot on your lap!! Give her a big kiss and cuddle from me – I’m sending good wishes for her op tomorrow.
August 24, 2010 at 7:57 pm #100358SiveGMemberWell! Major peace truce called!! Belle and Gizmo are getting on grand now. Brought them out for a massive walk so think they’re too tired to bother getting annoyed by each other. Even napping beside each other, so that’s great progress! Am pretty sure Belle is toilet trained, no accidents to date. Loves a good chewy bone to concentrate on. Playing tug-of-war with Gizmo with the toys, so all good. Great on the leash, no hassle at all, just walks along with Gizmo by your side no problem. Was sizing up a cat along the way so not sure how she’d fair with felines…but getting on great. Will send on pics asap!

August 25, 2010 at 9:20 am #100405TobysMumMemberFantastic Sive – great to hear Belle has settled in with you and Gizmo. I forgot to say that during the few days she spend with me she was absolutely a dream, toilet wise. She waited till she got out to the garden or on her walk to do her business. She loved the rope I sent with her – especially if you threw it for her. You’ll probably find she is hiding (burying) all her bits a pieces around your garden too. Sending her kisses and cuddles. x
August 25, 2010 at 3:53 pm #100424SiveGMemberWell, Belle’s op went grand , she’s a bit shook, but well. Yeah, she loves the rope, she was having a good tug of war with Gizmo last night with it! She’s gettin on grand, sleeping her head off now after the op, so hopefully she’ll start coming around again over the next couple of days.
August 25, 2010 at 4:33 pm #100427AnonymousInactiveHi can someone please tell me how old Belle is? I am looking to adopt a female pup but still have to to the home inspection etc and I will not be able to take a dog until approx 18th Sept. Thanks!
August 25, 2010 at 5:51 pm #100428SiveGMemberHi, she’s about year 1 old according to the details I have from her vacc. card. She’s pretty energetic so certainly not an old maid quite yet!
August 25, 2010 at 9:14 pm #100442IndiannaMemberHas the little "swell" Belle been spayed? She sounds like a real pocket rocket.
August 26, 2010 at 3:01 pm #100460SiveGMemberYup yup! ‘Swell’ Belle went in yesterday for the op. She was a bit zonked afterwards but is back in action today. Tasty bit of sausage seemed to perk her up no end!! Ah, the simplicity of dogs’ needs!!
She’s gettin on no problem at all with Gizmo now, my brother dropped his dog over for a few days, he’s a big british bulldog, Sidney, and she’s gettin on great with him too. He is massive though, but a total softie. She’s chewin away on a rawhide bone beside me now, so all in all, happy out!August 26, 2010 at 3:19 pm #100461TobysMumMemberThat’s great Sive, am delighted that she is now socialisig with other dogs – well done and thanks for helping her. It will make her life much easier.
August 26, 2010 at 3:20 pm #100462IndiannaMemberThank you for the up-date. So happy she has been spayed and is now on the road to recovery. A sausage made all the difference, how sweet. Even better news that she is getting along with other dogs now. Lovely little dog, very smart. I will be following her.
August 29, 2010 at 8:36 pm #100566SiveGMemberBelle is recovering well after her op. Went in for a check-up and all was well, stitches due out on Saturday! She had a lovely bath today, got a bit stinky out in a walk, so all three dogs were ‘refreshed’ and smelling beauuutiful! Bit of a brush down and they were all set, smart as you like! Think she could be in a multi-dog house, she would just need a bit of time at first. After some initial hassle with our dog, she’s calmed right down and is happy chillin out with them and playing around with the squeaky toys especially!!
August 29, 2010 at 9:08 pm #100565SiveGMemberHi all!
Having trouble uploading photos, think my internet connection is too slow!! So, have uploaded them to dropbox account so you can all catch a glimpse of Bell!

My Border Terrier is exactly the same, all "mouth and trousers". I have been assured by other BT owners that they are like that, regardless of how well socialised they are as puppies. I know we have spoilt our dog and I thought it was totally our fault, but apparently not. We just took our time introducing him to Cassie and Nellabi, they are all great buddies now but you would never think that at the initial meeting. I hope Belle will get better and better with new dogs because its nice for dogs to have dog company. She is a lovely little thing.
August 30, 2010 at 9:27 am #100613TobysMumMemberAh, she’s is absolutely adorable. I love the photos Sive, thanks a mill for looking after this little girl so well. She looks really happy and content now. Give her a cuddle from me.
