Happy Xmas from Barney & his foster sister Polly ![]()
photo (7).JPG
We took Barney from the pound last Sunday. He got into the car no problem and was a joy in the car driving home . At one stage he even fell asleep. The first thing he did when he came into the house wax jump up into the couch. He now knows where his bed is, it only took a few times to show him. He was a bit smelly so we put him in the shower which he had no problem with and sat and let me brush him for ages. The first night he seemed vey tired and just lay on his bed watching what my own dog polly wAs doing . Over the last few days he has settled in very well. He will wait at door & let me wipe his paws when he comes in from that horrible weather. He is grand on the lead. He has a problem when polly jumps up on couch he comes over and growls at her, I haven’t yet figured out if he is protective over me or he thinks the couch is his. Other than that the two of them are fine with each other. He is much much calmer then polly and he is a bit of a fatso so hopefully getting fed properly will sort that out …. We are meeting with other dogs 2 Moro for a long walk so will update then. ![]()

Barney has been with us just over a week now & he has had a busy week. He went in next door & met the 3 kiddies aged from 5 to 8 and he loved them he was smothered with hugs & kisses & loved it. My brother came down with his two dogs and there was no problem with them all going for a walk together , they also had a great run around on the green. Barney would be fine in a house with no other dog as he is not fussed if Polly is in the house with him or not. He would much rather play with humans in the house a bit like my own dog Polly. He would need a house where there is someone there all day as he loves human company and doesn’t like being left outside. He would make someone a great companion.

I have no problems walking the two dogs at the same time . He loves loves loves being inside and if ur in the kitchen he will be with u. Such a great companion. Him and polly still have not played yet, polly tried to make him play but he just ignored her, he will play with us no problem .

Hi There, just wondering what the update is on the lovely Barney? Is he still looking for a forever home as I think he’d make a great companion for my ex DID springer Cara?!

This boy is doing great and is still available for homing….please give me a call on 086 3696413…thanks ..Kathy..
Myself and my extended gang have been walking with this boy the last few days and I can only find great things to say about him….he was fantastic on blending in with the other seven dogs and galloped around with them no problem even when they were all a little excited with the newbie….. he even runs with a smile on his face and even though goes off and investigates something (in an enclosed field)he comes back when beckoned. His new foster family love him as he settled in so well and loves everybody.
Barney is now living next door to us .. What a great ending , he got a lovely new home & I get to see him all the time
here he is getting loads of snuggles off his new family ![]()
