These 8 little pups – 6 girls, 2 boys came to us from Co. Galway from a kind rescue who saved them from a desperate situation. They are approximately 7-8 weeks old and are tiny. They will be medium sized when fully grown and we believe they are collie cross pups possibly with a little bit of spaniel and a toy breed in the mix. These poor babies are in a terrible condition, they are very underweight and little more than skin and bone. They were absolutely filthy and very very smelly when we collected them. They travelled well in the care and there was not a sound made out of them. They were covered in fleas and had ear mites and are full of worms which are all being treated for. After arriving in their new foster homes they were fed and were starving. We believe that in their previous home it was survival of the fittest and these little babies never stood a chance. We have actually filmed them eating as it was so upsetting to see such young pups scrambling to get food. These pups need a lot of TLC which they are getting already as they settle in to their kind foster homes. These pups have had little or no human contact and have never been in a home so are very very nervous and scared of people. They haven’t quite realise that we are the good guys! It will probably take at least another week before they being to really trust people again but they are young enough so their bad start in life will not affect them long term. They have never had toys or a proper bed so they are discovering everything for the first time. It ill be nice to see them playing like normal pups in a day or two as we find out what their personalities are like. The photos below are before they had their baths, so we will follow with more asap and names also. These beautiful little pups won over all of our hearts and we hope that they will soon learn that now they are safe. They will all be vaccinated, wormed, micro-chipped and in the best of health before going to their new homes. I am sure their foster homes will post up news asap!
