Well we got a new house guest here today and he is the most adorable creature on the planet!  Jackson is 13 weeks old and is a fat little ball of fur. He has been really well cared for in his previous home (unfortunately they couldn’t keep him because of an allergy), he has started his vaccinations and his toilet training and will be microchipped in the next few days. Jackson is just GORGEOUS and his tail hasn’t stopped wagging since he came through the door. All my mob took to him really quickly and he isn’t fazed by their comparative size – he just does that lovely collie thing of lying down as they approach – with the tail wagging the whole time!!  He is exploring madly here and, just like our last foster, Diva, has a mad brush and mop fetish!!! Jackson will be a medium sized dog when fully grown and will require an active lifestyle with loads of stimulation in order to reach his full potential. Delighted to have him, albeit temporarily. :D :D :D

Jackson had a great first night. :D :D He settled down in his bed in the kitchen with the others and there wasn’t a peep out of him all night! :D A few messages left for us this morning but he is only a baby still.

He is extremely affectionate and loves being picked up and cuddled. He has that endearing quality of wrapping his paws around you – around your neck or your arm or your foot – SO CUTE!!!! He has a great appetite and loves to play. He is not especially chewy ( though maybe my standards have changed since Diva    ).

He is good in the car – gone off with the hubby to be shown off to his family this morning ( a rite of passage with all our fosters!!!). We haven’t heard a sound out of Jackson so far but give it time, I am sure!!!  A great little man. :D :D Here he is getting to know two of his foster bros, Casper and Thor.

Day 3 with this little treasure and all is going brilliantly! :D Jackson continues to be a true joy – there is "killings" among the 5 of us here (humans that is!!!) to get to play with him and cuddle him!   He is a real man’s man, much to the delight of the hubby and 2 adult!!!! sons.  He is starting to go outside to do his business but this is still very hit and miss (with more misses than hits). Jackson has one funny ear – you can see this in the photo below – which falls in the wrong direction. His left ear falls inwards which makes him look even cuter if that is possible. :D :D A real cracker! I hope his forever family come along really soon because I will already have a job persuading the family to part with him. :D :D

Delighted (I think!!  ) to report that Jackson left us today for his own special "happy ever after". :D :D

He has gone to a lovely family in Kildare with lots of land around their house for him to run around in and THREE children to play with. As always, it was tough to let him go – he is a really special little man – but thrilled that he has found his own forever family.

Miss you lots, pet!!!! Be SO SO happy, my little man. :D :D

    From Jacksons lovely family:
(The lovely Colgan family will be fighting over the computer to get a look at this update and where this baby lives now,it just looks amazing!)

I just wanted to give you an update on Jackson. He is doing great. He has been running and playing in the fields every day when the boys come home from school. I take him for a walk in the morning after breakfast, about an hour. The first day he was very nervous about passing houses that had other dogs they would do quite a bit of barking. It’s funny, once he realised we had his back (I carry a big stick with me) he started to taunt the other dogs! He acts now like he is five times the size he actually is. Its so funny.

He sleeps great at night in his crate and starts to look to go in it around 10pm. I think we are wearing him out. I can see that there is a change in him from about yesterday, he has become much more confident with us now and I can see his real personality shining through. He has such a lovely temperament and loves the boys. He chases them around the kitchen when they get up in the morning, also he greets each person individually as they come into the kitchen first thing in the morning. He loves chasing the brush, so much so, we have to put him in his crate to sweep the floor.

The only thing we need to overcome is the toilet training, and am sure that will come in time.
