April 20, 2010 at 3:59 pm #97111kaydoyleMemberThanks so much to Amy Byrne for flying down to collect this baby and to Belinda for minding her until we get her sorted Thanks ladies :
April 20, 2010 at 6:33 pm #97116jdogs2010MemberWe’re gonna take this little baby tomorrow. Can’t wait to meet her and will post pics asap!
April 21, 2010 at 11:22 am #97172jdogs2010MemberI picked this little cutie up from Belinda this morning. She’s absolutely stunning. She has cried since I put her in the car and we’re home over an hour and she’s still crying poor baby
She is very friendly and met the rest of our gang really eagerly. She seems to love the company of other dogs. She has ignored the kids completely
Brought her to be weighed so I know how much to feed her and she’s 4.4kg which is actually heavier than she looks! I bought her a smaller collar too as I was afraid she was about to slide outa the one she had on (I’ll send it back to you Belinda ) and I’d die if I lost her!!! So she’s got a cute pink collar and matching lead – it’s all about the accessories
We’re currently trying to think of a name for her as when my two year old says Frizzel it sounds like Piddle!!!!!
I’ve taken some photos but she’s a flyer so I’ll try get some better ones in the afternoon and post them up thenApril 21, 2010 at 8:24 pm #97195jdogs2010MemberWe’ve decided to call this girl Lottie for the time being. She finally gave up crying a few hours ago and slept for about an hour and a half straight through. Poor baby .. She’s had a play with the kids and she’s chilling in the kitchen right now Still think there’s a long night ahead for us though
Here are some of the photos we took today.April 22, 2010 at 9:04 am #97211jdogs2010MemberLottie slept all night last night which really surprised me! She got into her crate at about 9 and there wasn’t a peep out of her until she heard me up and about at 7.30 this morning She’s eating grand and drinking plenty too but she’s yet to do a wee or poo this morning so i’m watching her like a hawk for any signs
She’s such a cute dog. She hasn’t got much interest in the kids which surprises me as she’s such a young pup but maybe it’s just because she’s still a little unsure.
Any sign of an open door and she’s gone like a shot! She’s so quick I’d say she’d have to be carefully watched to be honest cos I reckon she’d just run and run and run!
She’s in such good condition. Her coat is shiny and soft and she’s got such a lovely temperament too. She just loves cuddles and wants to play. She cries if we leave her in the room on her own thoughApril 22, 2010 at 9:11 pm #97232jdogs2010MemberWe should have called this little lady Diva
She’s been crying all day again In grand form this evening though and had a really good play with myself and my daughter. She loved it.
I couldn’t believe my eyes when she ran up the stairs and when i got her back downstairs she jumped up on the sofa! From the size of her you’d never think she’d be able
She’s doing well with her toilet training. Only one accident today but it was my own fault as i had to run out before i got to bring her out poor baby.
I started her worming today too and she took it no bother.
She loves meal times Devours the food!
I think if she could go for a nice little walk she’d be grand but because of age and vaccinations etc she can’t. She needs to be tired out and then the tears might stop
Overall though she’s a lovely little puppy. She’s very easy to have around and is getting more interested in the kids as time goes on.
Fingers crossed we have another good night with her tonight. I reckon she’s tired herself out with crying yesterday!
Although will be surprised if she sleeps tonight as she’s crying now which she wasn’t doing last night
Will post more tomorrow ..April 23, 2010 at 10:24 am #97245jdogs2010MemberVery sleepless night last night this baby is still crying .. slept for a few hours but started crying around 1 and at 4 my husband got up and brought her outside to see if she needed to go to the toilet and then ended up sleeping on the couch with her. He got up at 7 for work and she started crying again! she’s actually howling now!!!! she goes mental if she can’t see us. she’s in the kitchen with the 3 other dogs and it’s still not good enough for her
Am at a loss!! Any suggestions???
She doesn’t cry ALL the time – she does have happy times too but when she cries boy does she cry!
As i said before, she can’t go out for walkies just yet ..April 23, 2010 at 10:22 pm #97285LuvMyFurKidsMemberShe is suffering anixety when she cant see you but if she can smell you she might relax…where ever she sleeps put an item of your clothing (that you don’t mind giving up) wear it and hold her while you wear it then let her sleep on it …..other old trick is a warm hot water bottle(heat of her mum) and a ticking clock(heartbeat of her mum)……best of luck with it …..she is just a little beauty.
April 24, 2010 at 9:12 am #97288jdogs2010Memberhi audrey, thanks a million for those tips. we tried the hot water bottle last night and she slept through the night Am like a proud (but very tired ) mummy this morning. We woke at 8.30 This morning something seems to have clicked in Lottie and I’m finally seeing the true pup coming out in her. She’s jumping around in the kitchen with our other 3. There’s a lot of bouncing off doors and toys being thrown around. It’s lovely to see Just hope it can continue like this as she’s truly a fab dog. There’s also the odd warning bark/growl from our beagle and the 13 year old dog we have here but that’s just them putting manners on her! Our beagle does it with every dog that comes in and it does them no harm whatsoever
and scratch what I said about having no toilet accidents when she’s out of the crate it’s a wee & poo free for all! we bring her out to go to the toilet and stay out for aaaaaaages but she has no interest. although in fairness to her, it’s getting closer to the back door all the time
she is an amazing little puppy. full of love and is beginning to trust us. like i said before she’s a perfect age to go live with a forever family and build up a fab relationship with them. if anyone is interested in this beautiful baby please contact someone from Admin
and seriously .. still can’t get over how she can jump up onto the couch!! she’s tinyApril 24, 2010 at 1:56 pm #97307LuvMyFurKidsMemberAh delighted Lottie slept through the night for you…..I had success as well last night with June(but we call her Bella) there was no puddles or parcels for me this morning when I came in to let her and my own two dogs out ….lets hope this new step forward is a firm foot to both our fosters becoming perfect fur kids….
April 26, 2010 at 7:45 pm #97419jdogs2010MemberLottie is doing really well. Has settled finally! Cries a little during the day but is now happy to play with the other dogs or her toys instead of it having to be one of us all the time. She’s a cute little thing. Her face is gorgeous and she’s funny to watch when she’s trying to take on the other, bigger dogs!
April 28, 2010 at 9:33 am #97444jdogs2010MemberThis little girl is doing great. She’s still having the odd accident in the house but a lot of it is down to excitement i think.
She’s opening her crate too I thought i wasn’t closing it properly but i watched her for ages this morning and she stuck one paw out when she thought nobody was looking and she kept at it the catch until she got it! it took her a good while to do it but she was relentless She’s a bit too clever lol
She’s in good form. She’s been wormed and can be vaccinated in a few more days.
She still cries a little but nothing during the night. I can cope with anything during the day
She’s getting a little bigger too. Heavier for sure! She loves her grubApril 30, 2010 at 8:51 am #95969jdogs2010MemberHi again .. this little girl is loving the attention of our other dogs. They are 3 and 5 and they adore puppies in the house. Lottie could do with losing some of the energy she has but i expect once she gets out for walks she’ll calm down. She plays with our two and is wiped in no time Still sleeping great during the night and only starts calling in the morning once our mooching around has woken her up. Can’t ask for more than that. She’s a runner though! Even in the kitchen it’s hard to get a hold of her. I’d say when she’s older and off lead she’s gonna be great to watch. She’s all about the sniffs and smells around the house at the moment and she’s definitely growing into those ears. Everything about her reminds me of our beagle as a small puppy, hence the reason i think she’s a beagle cross. She’s adorable anyway. Gonna make some family very happy. She loves the kids. She’s gone from ignoring them completely to wanting to be around them all the time, which is so sweet
May 3, 2010 at 7:38 pm #97748jdogs2010MemberLottie’s getting on brilliant. She’s gotten a little bigger too. She loves her grub She’s playing really well with our two dogs and is still showing a great interest in the kids. She jumps a little but she’s so small that it doesnt even bother our 2 year old. She’s got so much energy to burn & as she’s still not able to get out and about for walkies it’s kinda hard but she’s still sleeping great and loves her day time naps too
