Odin is a 6 year old male Spitz. Poor Odin is completely and irreversibly blind. He is the sweetest dog you could hope to meet. He is fully house trained and has basic obedience training. He gets on fantastically well with other dogs and people of all ages. He adores children and anyone who has a kind word for him really. He travels very well and once in the car just sits quietly until the end of the journey. Odin needs a home where there is no possibility of the family moving for the foreseeable future. This will allow him to get used to his new surroundings and be able to move around without fear of walking into things once he is settled. Another dog would also be ideal for him but not essential. He has quite a few years left so please don’t be put off by his age or his disability, he is still a very lively little guy and his lack of sight does not hinder him as much as you might expect.

I have had a blind rescue dog for the last 6 years and he is now quite old. I would be delighted to talk to anyone about adopting Odin and what to expect in terms of his disability – I actually forget that my dog is blind!! He is a pleasure to live with and I am sure Odin will be the same. Feel free to PM me for a few tips, tricks, games etc!

Unfortunately Odin is back looking for a new forever home. Due to a change in circumstances his current home can no longer keep him. They are very upset at having to let him go. He is such a lovely little guy and as said above his blindness doesn’t hinder him in the slightest. If you are interested in adopting him please contact me muireann@dogsindistress.org

Well this beautiful bundle of fluff left me today for his new life. He is just such a super dog, no words can describe how great he is. His new family are besotted with him and he had already taken up residence on the couch when I was leaving! I think this is a match made in heaven and they will have many happy years together :)
