Yay!
RichardMemberI’m sure he’s doing super with Amy. He was a little down with the apartment living – looking out from the balcony and then coming in and seeing if I was going to head out with him. He saw another dog across the street one evening and he came in and yapped, tail wagging, running for the door, glancing back and beckoning. I thought he wanted his potty, even though we’d been out half the day. So shoes on, down the stairs. But he only wanted to make a doggy friend! I was gonna try and set up play dates. But Amy’s got a busier house, with a garden etc and the lovely Indie too who he can pal around with.
RichardMemberFantastic little guy! Great to see he’s doing so well, A.
And he didn’t really answer to Hobo with me either!
I miss the little guy, all the little things he did!
He has a lovely way of wiping his paws in the dirt or the sand after he’s been sniffing around an area, and then springing out of the dirt onto the grass, like he’s saying "I’m finished exploring this patch! Where’s the next one?"
Agreed that he’s very affectionate too.
Anyone I’ve talked to about him, and shown the pics has gone "Awwww."
RichardMemberThanks for the food tip. I’ve actually been putting it back in the fridge and putting it out again when we get home, but I will in fact do it in the morning and the evening as you suggest.

RichardMemberWe were both wrecked this morning – he had a full day yesterday. Last night was the first time he didn’t watch me avidly as I ate, and it was a midnight snack, but he was like a log. He woke up before me but then he went back to sleep. I asked him if he wanted to go out and he didn’t show any interest in that until I started doing the washing up. Then I had to leave the dishes steeping because he was yapping at me to get out of the apartment. In fairness, I had already shown him his lead, so I think he thought it was a done deal.
Out for a walk in the park – I think I take him out for too long, and he’s a bit whacked now again after a 90 minute walk. Absolutely full of life to begin with, chasing his ball in the park. But he refused to mount flights of steps and he had to be carried over a flyover bridge, and he was very slow towards the end of the walk. Just fed now, and washed, and he hasn’t insisted on going out again – he’s resting up watching the box.

Whatsgoingon.jpgRichardMemberUp at 7 am for a walk up to the beach. At the beach, he was accosted by a curly Jack Russell, who lay down and exposed his underside to Hobo. They sniffed each other and the Jack’s owner called him back. Hobo got a kick out of exploring the dunes. He’s not quite a ball chaser, but he had a good go. On his walks, he tends to stop for a breather, and he looks up at me for encouragement. Quick head-pat or a tickle and then he’s up again.
He played a little ball at the beach, but the beach I took him to is a good walk away, and he was more interested in exploring the dunes off the lead. No one around at 8 am other than our Jack Russell friend, so he had free reign of the place.
Later, after lunch, we went to Ringsend Park over to the southside. His mind was blown with ANOTHER BEACH!
Yesterday, he leapt out of the bath, but he got back into it without too much effort. He’s beside me here now, and he likes being beside me (unless he’s too hot, in which case he likes being just outside the door).
He can look a little forlorn and low, but he perks up and his little tail wags when he’s shown the slightest bit of attention.
