Hi Mitchell, I can’t believe you’re still waiting for your forever home, don’t worry little friend good things come to those who wait. You are such a handsome young man with more than a passing resemblance to my good self in my youth if I may say so myself
You are such an amazing little dog with a winning personality, we had great fun together in your foster mums. My human children loved you and you were so good with them. Be patient my friend soon you will be with your very own forever family. Love Raffi xxxx
raffisfamilyMemberHi Izzy – you stole our hearts when we met you in your foster home. How are you getting on in your new home? love Raffisfamily
raffisfamilyMemberHi raffi
You look like you are having a wonderful time with Marie, Jamie, Lovley lulu and the rest of the gang.
BUT
We are missing you so so much
We met a lovely dog here in Italy called Lucy and you would be very smitten with her. She is also a rescue dog and was abandoned in a box in the park with the rest of her litter. Apparantley there are lots of dogs abandoned here especially in the Summer months. Lucy has landed on her four paws though and has a lovely owner now……happy days
Enjoy the rest of your holidays Raffster…..big huge hugs from us all xxxxx
raffisfamilyMemberJust an update on how Raffi is getting on. As I type he’s fast asleep here at my feet – he loves his sleep!! He is still as wonderful as ever – even more so to be honest. We just had a Confirmation party complete with bouncy castle and a ton of kids and Raffi enjoyed every bit of it and was so so good. He was going around trying to Hoover up every little morsel that was dropped on the ground I cannot find the words to describe what a wonderful dog Raffi is – he has the sweetest, kindest nature of any dog I have met. And have I mentioned how handsome he is……sometimes I am admiring him so much that dh reminds me I didn’t actually give birth to him myself!!
He has been to Sligo on holidays with us twice now to see his human nanan and grandad and he adores the going down there. We are able to let him off the lead on the beach there as we can be confident he cant run off on us – all bets are off though when he sees another dog, he takes off like a racehorse to play with them. He took his first swim last weekend and as with everything Raffi does he was a natural at it! Poor thing gets a surprise every time he tries to drink the sea water though
He’s great in the car once we let him travel on an empty stomach (thanks to his foster mum marie for that tip) – we just strap him into his harness and he snuggles down in the back seat with the kids until we get there. His Nanan and grandad are very impressed with what a good dog he is and they love having him to visit.
We and everyone who meets him cannot for the life of us understand how Raffi ended up with DID but we are delighted that he did because we now have the pleasure of his company and for that we are so so grateful.
Thank you all at DID so much for Raffi and keep up all the fantastic work that you do. For anybody who, like me, was looking at the site for ages before making the first move – go ahead fill in those adoption forms, and contact DID, it will be one of the best things you will ever do.
photo-2.jpegraffisfamilyMemberRaffi is getting on great – he’s really showing us who’s boss now – you just have to touch a coat or pick up the keys and he’s ready and waiting for a walk – we’re all enjoying being getting out and about much more! The barking when he meets other dogs is happening much less now and he is starting to understand that not all other dogs are as friendly as he is. I met a man the other day who has a springer spaniel that he rescued and the spaniel is always afraid of other dogs – guess what, he loved our Raffi He’s very much part of the family now and we all are completely mad about him. He’s such a good dog, loves to play, adores people and is the perfect pet. What a little star he is. Here are some photos of him dressed up in his shamrock cravat for St Patricks day – if I can upload them
322.JPGraffisfamilyMemberJust a quick update on how the lovely Raffi is doing! He is an amazing little dog and has settled in completely – he has won the hearts of everybody in the house and everybody he meets. Raffi is the most friendly dog I have ever come accross – he smiles up at everybody he meets when he is out for his walks and most people can’t resist him and stop to give him a rub. He also loves every other dog he meets and can’t understand why they don’t always love him back… He likes to have a play with other dogs but not all dogs or owners are up for the game and this confuses Raffi, so he barks quite a bit at them as they walk away from him. We’re working on this, and I think he is starting to understand that not all dogs are as sociable as he is – and the barking is def not happening as much as it was. However, any tips on dealing with this would be much appreciated! At home Raffi is so so good. No accidents and he always goes outside to do his business. He loves to hide his chewy treats in the garden and then find them a few days later and enjoy them then! He is the most perfect dog ever – he loves to get kisses and cuddles, loves playing and is so so gentle with the kids. We call him Raffi the Wonder Dog! At night he sleeps in his lovely comfy bed and he greets us every morning with a big huge sleepy head and a waggy tail all ready for another fun day. Thanks DID for all you did for Raffi before he came to us. I will post some photos soon.
raffisfamilyMemberWe collected our beautiful little Raffi this morning from his fantastic Foster family. It was sad for him to say goodbye to someone who he obviously loved very much, never mind saying goodbye to his foster sibling doggies as well. Such an amazing little doggie – he is fabulous and has already settled in like he always lived here. He spent some time this morning playing with the kids in the back garden and having a good old sniff around – he had his lunch, then another play and then a lovely big walk around the neighbourhood. I can tell you he turned a head or two with his cheeky good looks and his friendly disposition. He loves other dogs and had to say hello to EVERY dog we met. He has made friends already with the glamorous Tibetian Terrier Roxy around the corner and had a great sniff with Alfie the Golden Retriever. Raffie loves other dogs almost as much as he loves people. He licked the face off some young guy who was loitering around our local shop trying to look cool – even he couldn’t resist Raffis charms!! He has been so so good – going out to go to the toilet since he arrived. We were waiting in anticipation for the first Doo doo as the kids were fighting over who got to do the first poop scoop (wonder how long that will last ) – lets just say Raffi produced while he was out for the walk so our brand new poop scoop got used.
As I type now he is fast asleep at my feet. We feel like we are the luckiest family in the world to have Raffi and are so grateful to all in Dogs in Distress for taking care of him until we met him.
