Toto came back all sad I think he really enjoyed being around a family with kids to play with (clearly he was a little unsettled too). He perked up when I took him to his favourite walking spot by the canal.
I got the tent set up today which he got very excited about and has been playing around with me all day. He is such a wonderful, affectionate little doggy.
On other animals: when he sees BIRDS he does try and go after them (generally no barking, just pulling on the lead)-not sure whether he’s just interested or it’s aggression.
When he sees CATS out on a walk he seems oblivious, when they walk along our garden wall he barks until they leave.
Other DOGS out walking, he is generally fine with. Just sniffs and signs of interest. If they bark or show signs of aggression he barks too.RachelAMemberToto (or Milo) has a new family! He goes tomorrow (Monday).
Thank you everyone for their help and interest. He will have a lovely new home near the sea where he can chase seagulls around to his heart’s content
IMG_0109.jpgRachelAMemberI’m sure he’ll find a family soon as he is very cute and fantastic with people. I’m in England this week so not sure what the two of them are up to. When I left they were both happily snoozing.
I shall get some photos on here at the weekend when I’m back.

RachelAMemberToto (or Teetor as we’ve been calling him) is great,
he is full of energy and much better with other dogs now. He’s met quite a few friendly big ‘uns which has made him a little less scared.
He found a salmon head down by the river and decided to roll in it quite disgustingly, I’ve bathed him twice since and he still smells of fish! He absolutely hates being wet, he must have had a traumatic experience with water. He just sits there all subdued and looks at me with terror in his eyes. It makes me feel quite guilty!
He will make an awesome pet for a family, a toddler grabbed his face as she was pushed past in her buggy and he didn’t even flinch. Was totally unfazed. I was very proud (and relieved!).
RachelAMemberToto is getting much better with other dogs now he’s met some more friendly big guys. I’ve been giving him lots of praise when he has a positive encounter and it seems to be working.
He’s also learning to sit before he gets food/treats/goes on the leash for a walk. Although the last one gets a little hard for him as he gets so excited when he sees the lead
I will update again soon.
*rachel*RachelAMemberToto has been making friends with the local puppy population. He’s great with little doggys. Big dogs seem to scare him a bit: on first meeting the usual sniffing hello but then he can get growly after retreating to a very safe distance !
I feel a little socialisation with some friendly big dogs will stop this defensive bravado.
He had his stitches taken out at the vet today and was exceptionally well-behaved. He is very friendly and trusting of people. I haven’t seen him bark at anyone. He must have been well socialised.
We’re getting quite attached to the little guy. He will certainly be missed when he finds a forever home.RachelAMemberSo friendly: here’s Toto with my husband Billy. He jumped on up to say hello.
Toto is enjoying his new toys . He made such an impression walking home with his new squeaky hamburger that tourists stopped me to take photos
Toto and Billy.jpgRachelAMemberI second that, although for me it would be confined to Dublin city centre as we have transport.
Any ideas anyone?
RachelAMemberToto is settling nicely even though he only got here yesterday after a stressful week for the little guy. He is full of beans and exceptionally friendly with people.
Dogs interest him. He is not a fan of cats! He is a playful and energetic dog during the day and sleeps soundly through the night. No accidents so far. He is a very happy, sociable dog. He’ll make a lovely little dog for a family.
