One week one and what can we say, Simba is the most loving and adorable dog ever.
He is just a big ball of fluff that follows me everywhere and really just wants cuddles and hugs all day.
He is very gentle with my 3 little boys and seems to be aware of his size and is careful with them. When his tail was accidently rolled over by a little scooter, he did not even flinch, which is a brilliant sign of a tolerant, gentle dog.
Simba wants to be number 1 in our house, not in an aggressive way, more like a toddler who demands your constant love and affection. He gets on well with our other 3 dogs and loves our tiny cat and has settled in well with them. As long as he knows food is always coming, he is happy. Indeed, he loves his grub though is not greedy.
When out for a walk, he loves to meet other dogs, although they sometimes seem intimidated by his size and bark at him, whilst he looks on in amusement.
He is a clean dog who is completely toilet trained. Indeed, we thought he had no basic training but we were wrong. After 3 days, he sat and gave us the paw, which means he is either a really fast learner or he needed just a few days to trust us. He also never jumps up on us which is good, considering his size.
Simba would be as asset to any family and is always admired when he is out and about, although he is still a bit scared of traffic and loud noises, this is understandable having come from a farm down the country.
I would highly recommend Simba and when the tail fur grows back, he will be the most handsome guy in the street!

The beautiful Simba arrived to us yesterday! We are thrilled to have him, he really looks like half lion, half grizzly. He went straight into the bath for an hour and loved it, especially my expensive detangling conditioner!!
He was an angel in the bath and didn’t move once, which was great as he needed a serious groom. I cut out the matted pieces and gave him a head massage and then my husband had to lift him out as he wouldn’t leave. I would say he is about 50kg so it wasn’t easy!
Then, out with the hairdryer and not a peep out of him, he defo fancies himself and loves the pampering!
He must have been a completely outside dog as he is very reluctant to cross the doorway into the kitchen from the garden, I had to push him from behind eventually and he was afraid of the washing machine and the kettle boiling, all must be unfamiliar sounds for him.
He is currently wary of my other dogs but couldnt care less about the cat. He is friendly toward my 3 little boys.

The main issue with Simba at the moment could be loneliness, his owner passed away and he defo appears to be sad, maybe also overwhelmed from leaving a farm and coming to a Dublin suburb in the flight path of Dublin Airport!…

Simba needs lots and lots of reassurance and love, like us all if we were to find ourselves in his unfortunate situation :((

More updates in the coming weeks x
