Hello, just a quick update on Kipper who we call Teddy because he’s so lovable.

Settling in well. Cara, our dog, has been a single dog for 3.5 years so a little discombobulated but, in fairness, apart from some growls, the odd snarl etc, nothing serious. Teddy’s very enthusiastic and tends to crowd her but they’re learning from each other and she’s so good anyway.

Teddy is just a wonderful dog – gentle, kind, dying for hugs and petting, so good-natured, tail always wagging, v alert, good on walks [altho’ we wouldn’t risk him off the lead, of course]. Was highly excited with St Anne’s Park yesterday evening. He really is a lovely soul.

If anyone has any background on him and his medical history, v much appreciated. Pl PM me. A&N

We are very bad posters – apols. But we took this photo of Cara [aka Maddie as you would have known her] and just thought that you may like to see her. Our flower girl ! She is an angel, one of the most truly gentle and bravest souls we will ever have the privilege to meet. A tad greedy angel, it has to be said – but, hey, a girl has to have one little foible ! Our much loved huggy-bear :D , she’s still quite nervous, not entirely at her ease with many dogs but we celebrated our 2nd anniversary with her on March 16th and she continues to improve – highly intelligent, most affectionate with a wonderful warble from deep inside, marvellous to walk with and snoring on the bed every nite. Regards, A&N.

Hi. update on Maddie. As I type, she’s lying at my feet having snored her head off in the sun for about 30 mins. She’s learning to trust every day; still v nervous of traffic [we had a bit of a meltdown yesterday in St Anne’s Pk when the park wardens drove by] but all well. She’s incredibly gentle and polite; most self-effacing. Still hasn’t copped on that her bed and rugs are actually hers to use but has quite taken up residence in the sitting room. She really is lovely and gives us quite a dance of welcome every morning. Each day an improvement. All is going well. Many thanks indeed A&N

Hi. quick update. Maddie had a v good nite. Enjoyed her early walk this morning, she’s a v quick learner, clever dog. Am not letting her off the lead yet until we all have more confidence. Trotting around in the backgarden, totally oblivious to the fox who snoozes in next door’s !

Hi. here are some fotos of Maddie – several showers and a ‘haircut’ later. She’s lovely – gentle and quiet – in fact, so quiet we barely know that she’s here. No mess etc in the house – extraordinary, given everything that she’s gone thru. Getting some wags and the odd nudge for a petting now. Still a very grave and worried dog – had her on a good walk today [she doesn’t appear to really know how to walk properly on a lead] where, on the plus side, she met other dogs and was extremely courteous and curious and on the minus, absolutely terrified of traffic, particularly buses. Allows herself to be encouraged along tho’. She’s eating very well [having barely touched anything for the first 24 hrs] and, big advance today, stayed out in the backgarden by herself. So far, so fine … A&N
