Oh lord they are so cute, all warm and cosy with mum and lots of cuddely toys. Mum has a very cute bright face, has she got a name ?
MARYMACMemberThis little guy seems to be getting more confident by the day, and cheeky with it. Yesterday he decided to take off with my slipper as I suppose to him it was the same as some of the soft toys he has come to love playing with little devil
Oh another fluffy toy to play with !!His toilet training seems to be nearly there and now goes to the door when he needs to go out.
Today we decided to wash Benny, and because we never had a "little" doggie before, we decided to do the wash in the kitchen sink ! Not a great idea but thought the shower would frighten him too much. Water everywhere !! But the job was done without too much hassle. He was quite good about it, but did try and jump out a few times.
Not sure I like this too much
(Dont worry we used lovely dog shampoo, not the wash up liquid in the picture) And I will definately need that wine glass later. We gave him a quick dry with the towel and then he went outside for a shake . Thankfully it was warm and dry. Then back for the finishing touches of the blow dry!! Well he just loved it. He lay there like lord muck and nearly purred , lol. He was so funny.
His coat is so soft and fluffy, he feels like a lovely fleece just out of the dryer. He seemed all happy being lovely and clean then jumped up on the couch for a little nap.
That wash stuff was very tiring !!
Hi there
Im just a fluffball now
Yay another toy !As I type this now, Abby is fast asleep after her walk and her feed, Benny is also fast asleep after his feed, so 2 very happy furry’s. I can quite honestly say that I never thought I would see these two in such peace together.
Benny is going to make some home a very happy one and will fill his new owners time with many laughs as he is quite the little monkeyMARYMACMemberOur little trooper got his stitches out this morning and not a bother, he was very good. No more mad head gear for him !!
The vet checked his eyes and has given us drops instead of ointment which will be a lot easier to put in, a quick drop and its done.He sat at the back door today and looked to go out for the first time, we were so delighted, so the 2 hourly trips outside seem to have done the trick and he seems to get the message. Such a clever little boy he is
His coat is beginning to grow quite a lot now and is thickening out and is just so so fluffy, he is gorgeous and so cuddely, he feels like a little fleece
this guy has really come on so much, happy to go outside, when its not raining and potter around the garden and sniff and pee, and do the normal doggy things. He saw a cat today on the garden wall and barked because Abby barked, but wasnt much bothered with him really.
Lots of fun and play with Abby today and sleep in between.
I laughed so much tonight as Gerry went upstairs to watch some football, Abby followed as always, then Benny followed. I went up a while later and there were the 3 of them asleep on the bed, sadly no camera or phone to hand. It was so funny, total contentment.I think I will give the little monkey a wash tomorrow now his stitches are out and see how that goes.
Happy Easter Everyone
Mary, Gerry, Abby and Benny.MARYMACMemberToday was an early call at 5am when I woke up to a strange noise in the darkness. Not sure what it was until I focused my eyes on the little lampshade looking up at me beside the bed !!! The little monkey had obviously decided he was lonely and came up for a cuddle. Then I felt bad as he seemed very cold so of course up on the bed and he curled up in a ball and went fast asleep.
As it was such a horrible morning everyone was sleepy so he just lounged around and slept a lot.
My nephew rang to say he would call around in the afternoon with Bruce abby’s boyfriend I was a bit concerned as Bruce is a huge big gentle giant and wasnt sure how the 3 would behave together but only one way to find out !
They arrived in and as soon as Benny saw Bruce he started to bark. I was holding him on my lap and he just gave out and gave out. We just ignored him as Abby and Bruce went out the back to play. Benny was watching everyting with a keen eye and was very interested . We put him out for a bit and as Bruce and Abby were busy playing he just sort of sniffed around them and Bruce around him. After a few trips in and out of the house Benny was completely at ease and very brave , tail wagging and wanting to play. It was very funny to watch the size of him with these two bigger dogs, he had no problem at all adn if things got a bit rough he just dashed back into the house.
We were all in stitches at the 3 of them sorting each other out and the only problem was his size against their big large playful slaps of the paws like boxers !! Mind you he had a go himself no problem to him and Bruce actually became quite wary of him after a while, the little monkey. But all in all lovely to see him so confident in himself after a short time and well able and willing to play In fact he was the last to give in when the other two were exhausted.I feel very confident that Benny would make a great addition to any family with no small children. He loves company and enjoys playing and giving his cheek , He really has turned into a real character and while we would miss him so much we would truly love to see him going to a forever home where he will be equally loved and spoilt
some pics of today, hopefully there will be no visits tonight or early morning.
They told me you were big, but your huge !!
Hey Big fella Im Benny
One more little play while Abby is asleepStitches coming out in the morning
MARYMACMemberAnother good day today with lots of fun and play with Benny (Elijah) & Abby. I couldnt get a picture of them in the garden as they just never stop for a second and then Benny darts back into the house when he’s had enough.
We got some post today as you can see from the picture.
Yay we got our Bandanas !!!!!I think every toy in the house was used today as Benny got very adventurous and checked out every one, but mostly this one was used as great for a tug of war, endless fun.
Playing with Abby’s old favourite Giraffe !Abby had her usual long walk in the park and Benny had a little wander around the block, well not quite, but up and down the road as he widdled on every gate and post. Was quite happy with anyone he met but mostly just wanted to have a good sniff.
Despite being fed twice today and yesterday, I think this little guy would just eat and eat as this picture was taken after he was fed and Gerry was having his dinner !
If we keep looking , maybe he will give inIt was very funny tonight as it got dark and we let the hooligans out, our back light had not been working but was fixed and went on just as Benny stepped. He sort of jumped and looked up as if to say, what the ?? But was much happier to stay out and sniff around with the light on. So it seems he’s not too keen on the dark and maybe why he was darting back in like a scared rabbit. Poor pet.
All quiet tonight as always when it was bedtime, Benny decided to sleep in Abby’s bed all stretched out and abby on the chair where he usually sleeps, well thats where we left them.
One thing I will say about this little chap he loves to really stretch when he wants to sleep, so no little tiny cosy bed for him, he loves his space.MARYMACMemberMy heart sank when I saw the post about star being so ill, thankfully she is home now and will be nursed and loved to health. Good luck little one you so deserve it.
MARYMACMemberHi there,
Benny here tonight . what a day this was !!! All started good and my foster daddy was home today as well so we all had breakie together. I had my favourite mashed spuds with my granules, yummy
I have to have a little sleep after my breakie as Im just a wee chap. So I headed upstairs after my foster mummy and asked for a cuddle on the bed which is my favourite thing.
I was told I was very good as no accidents last night and am such a good boy Myself and Abby are buddies now and love to play around for ages, she is bigger than me but Im not a bit scared of her as she is so playful and I love this play thing , but I do get tired and need to nap afterwards.
When Abby and gerry went for a walk this afternoon I had a mooch around and found this Hippo toy of hers. I decided to fling him about a bit and chew him, hey thats so much fun
I know he squeaks somewhere but just cant find it, Dam !!!I had some more dinner which was yummy as ever, I dont like tuna or sardines. My foster mummy thinks this is strange cos Abby loves them, but not for me thanks.
Later on myself and Abby decided we would have a good old tug with the Hippo chap again, that was fun, as abby just pulled him and me all over the place , wheeeeeeee !!
Ah now I know, Abby has the end that squeaks , I will get it.
Give it to me , I want to make him squeak.Had to sleep after all that tiring stuff. Mary told me there was someone coming to see me tonight, yippeeee I love people calling.
The ladies called, Gwen,Kim & Fidelma. They were really nice and fussed over me and said I was cute They had to give me a vaccination thing so I wouldnt get sick, and microchip me in case I get lost. Thats ok as I dont want to go to the pound again
I didnt much like it and screeched a bit but it was all done and I was fine.
So now I have my collar on and its off to sleep with me. Night.MARYMACMemberHi, Well can you imagine the face on this little tinker this morning when he was put out for a wee, he was so funny. I felt bad putting him out but had to be done, so a quick wee and he tore back in and back to sleep
He is becoming a very playful little guy, now initiates play with abby and me, and seems to enjoy a bit of rough and tumble, he certainly doesnt give in. We have to stop it usually as abby is so much bigger than Benny, things get a bit out of hand and am afraid little Benny may get hurt.
His coat is getting thicker and he loves to be brushed. He is a bit stinky but not sure about washing him with the stitches in, so will wait. His stitches look really well healed and he has no trouble at all with them. Again last night wagged the tail as I put the collar on his wee head.
He took a mad run and jump this morning and jumped on my bed, you would want to have seen him wiggle when he got up, as if to say "Im such a clever boy" Which of course he is. Wanted a tummy rub as he lay with his legs up in the air, he is a such a fun little chap and so relaxed now. Definately thinks he is the boss.
In the week he has been here he has come on leaps and bounds, not a bit nervous and quite a cheeky chap . Loves to look out the window and see the world go by and have a little woof at any dogs
going by. if anyone is interested in giving him a forever home, please dont hesitate to ask any questions about him.MARYMACMemberWell as today was such a horrible day the doggies in this house decided to have a duvet day !!! #Benny was forced out the door this morning at about 8 to do business and was none to pleased with the rain and the cold. Ran back in and headed back to sleep immediately. He has more or less slept most of the day as has Abby. They were very good together today and no problems. Abby had a big walk as usual this evening and came home wrecked and dirty and wound up after playing on the green with a young German Shephard doggy friend. Then came home and wanted to play the these two had amad little time and are now settled.
Benny doesnt seem interested in food in the morning at all these days so am feeding him around lunch time, which he devours. He doesnt seems to like tuna, but loves cheese and ham, so I put a tiny bit ofone of these in his granules and he eats up the lot. He is a great eater for such a little chap. Gave him another smaller feed at about 6 with some mash, which he also loves.
I am leaving off his collar all day now and he really doesnt touch the stitches at all, but it goes back on at night as I am not tempting fate.
It will be great on Saturday when he gets them out.
I spoke to Gwen today and he will be chipped and vaxed this week so will be all ready to go if there is a forever home waiting for him out there. They will be very lucky to get this little chap as he is just a great little character and makes me smile all the time.MARYMACMember
Just one more I had to add snapped on my phone today as they were sitting happy together for a while, such progress in just 6 days.MARYMACMemberhi,
Well this little guy cracks me up so much and makes even Abby smile I think
Again last night all was quiet and Abby and Benny didnt have any night time encounters !!
Today was good mostly apart from when the little monkey decided to wee on my bed He got too excited, my fault for messing with him so much and not taking him out on time. He really needs regular trips out and lots of praise which he loves when he performs. We were out in the garden for a good bit this afternoon, planting and clearing as it was such a nice day. Abby and Benny are getting so good about being together now. They just want to play, both of them !! Abby is so much bigger than Benny and when over excited it gets a bit out of hand, so its time out !!!
He is obviously feeling very at home here now as not a problem getting up on chairs or couch, but to look at him doing so would bring tears of laughter to your eyes, he sort of takes a run and jump, you should hear his little feet on the floor
Not so confident about getting down, but sits and sort of perches on the edge and moves forward, like he is saying 1,2,3 go !!! Its just hillarious His confidence has grown and is so less fearful of things.
Last night a friend called and she fell in love with him until he jumped up beside her and started to hump her shoulder He hasnt done that to any of us, so not sure what provoked that the little monkey.
To end the day, we turned out the lights apart from a soft light which we leave one, probably because we feel better as Im sure benny couldnt give a dam. I picked up his collar and looked at him and he started to was his tail. Just sat there as I put it on for the night as if to say, "thats grand and good night", curled up and went to sleep. Oh my goodnes how cute is that !!
Here are some pics from last night and today.
Im only little but love to stretch
Getting to like this little yellow thing !!
You have to hold it in your paws like this. Then its just yummy
Did you not hear them say, no more messing or we have to go to bedMARYMACMemberWell little Benny went to the vet today for a check up following his little op on Wed . All well and they will take his stitches out next sat.
Last night we decided to leave the living room door open as Abby likes to wander around at night and has been restless the last few nights. I was like a nervous mother upstairs with one eye open while Gerry was snoring his block off !!! All went well thankfully, I heard Abby going down during the night and no other sounds thankfully.
This morning little Benny would not eat anything so just left him alone. He made up for it at about 5 when he nearly cleared his bowl, then watched abby with a very keen eye as she ate hers. She wasnt leaving anything to chance and ate it all. so funny how the eye contact between them was. You could nearly hear them think
He still has a few problems with toilet training, he’s been fine at night the last three nights, and if you take him out regurarly he is good in the day. Just one little accident today.I have left his collar off a lot today as when I can see him he doesnt tend to try to go for his stitches and if he does a firm "No" and he stops. He will have it on all night as cant leave anything to chance.
Himself and Abby have become more tolerant of each other. Abby is a bit rough when she wants to play with him, but only because he is smaller and she is not used to him. Dont think there is any intention of aggression between them, just excitement.
I gave Benny a little rubber ring again today, and started to play with him, he sort of messed about with it for a while and got the hang of playing a bit. then just chewed it, which he enjoyed.
~All in all things are well. And when this guys stitches are out I would think he would be ready to go to a forever home. He is a little trooper and deserves to be spoilt and loved as do all the doggies.MARYMACMemberWhats the bunny doing beside me ?
Ha ha, they moved Abby’s bed but I found it !!
Getting to like each other
Helping with updates !!!!MARYMACMemberAh look at the face on that little girl. She is so pretty. How could anyone abandon something so small and helpless. it never ceases to amaze me how cruel people can be . So glad to see her all warm and cosy and going to a nice foster where she will thrive Im sure. I look forward to seeing future posts on her.
MARYMACMemberHi,
Well today was a good day and little Benny (Elijah) and him and Abby pottered around happily on and off. Benny slept on and off the rest of the time, he just loves his sleep. Im sure the anaesthetic is still in his system and keeping him a little quiet. His stitches are beginning to annoy him, but are probably tightening up and healing which is a good sign. He is still reluctant to go outside even though as today was such a nice day the patio door was open all day but still had to be taken out and the door closed to have a wee.
I had a bit of a tummy bug this afternoon and lay on the couch for a few hours and we all had a little sleep I think. A friend of mine called in today and wanted to take him there and then !! Cant say I blame her as he is really a cutie little boy.
He had not done any big buisness since his op on Wednesday and tonight he was very agitated from tea time onwards but that was resolved tonight ( too much information maybe) !!!
Then he jumped on the couch beside Gerry and slept like a baby poor pet.I see there is interest in this little fella. All I can say is that he is a great little chap and such a funny guy. Loves to cuddle and will tell you when he wants up on your lap. He sits and looks at you and gives a little whimpering noise. This fella sure knows how to tug at your heart strings.
He is going to the vet tomorrow for a check up and will let you know how he gets on. this is our fifth night with Benny and it feels like he has been here for ages and belongs, so it will be hard to see him know, but knowing he will go to a forever home where he will be loved and spoilt rotten will be a consolation.
