It’s great to hear how Murphy (Kendo?) is getting on. It is lovely to see how beautiful his colouring is shown off now that he does not look neglected and heartbroken (first photo was shockingly sad). He will no doubt make a wonderful dog for the right family, and hopefully with more time and care and love he will trust people again. It sounds like he is making amazing progress, it is so sad when you meet a dog who does not know what it is to play, and it is so wonderful when someone takes the time to show them. It is all part of making a balanced, happy dog. Well done on all your work with him. He sounds like such a lovely lost boy, I hope he continues to make wonderful progress and finds the perfect loving home.
martemMemberSorry seem to be having some trouble uploading the video – it may be too big. Will just have to add more photos soon – pity as the video is just so cute.
martemMemberThis is a short video of Ruby and Carly in the garden. The noisy one is Ruby – she’s like a moose – she has always made a lot of noise when playing.
martemMemberCarly has been with us for two weeks now and she is just a little darling. Like most puppies she loves playing, chasing balls and running manically around the garden in circles. She just makes us smile whenever we look at her bounding around with her little puppy bounce. She is even getting our older and somewhat sensible lady, Ruby, to join in and have a play fight with her. She is little anxious about her food and devours it as quickly as she can but she is not aggressive or protective about it and that is always a good sign. She has not had her injections yet so we cant take her out for walks- but we are really looking forward to being able to, we haven’t started any lead training because of this but she is such a clever inquisitive little girl that I hope she will take to it well. She has not had an accident in the house other than the first couple of days after she arrived, we take her out whenever she wakes from a nap and otherwise if the door is open she just goes out herself. She loves snuggling on our laps and sleeps happily there while I do my work on the computer. She is a little hot water bottle!!
martemMemberThese photos don’t do her full credit but they are all I have on the computer at the moment. Will add more later

DSC_0218.jpgmartemMemberThis little lady arrived a couple of weeks ago. We had our second foster dog, Rudi, with us at the time (he has since gone to his lovely new permanent home ). Carly got on fabulously with him and despite the size difference they would play and tussle for hours. We’re not sure if she had lived in a house before but she was not at all fazed. Her toilet training is coming on great. She has not learned to ask to go out but as long as we let her out regularly or the door is left open (great to be getting some nice weather) she will always go out to do her business. She is also completely dry at night (even though I put papers out just in case). She is one very clever, well behaved little girl. As a terrier the first time she met our cats she had to bark and rush up to them but now she is completely comfortable with them and even touches noses with our Black cat, Boo. We are all in love with her. I will post more photos soon.
martemMemberWhat a beautiful girl. Hope she finds a home soon, she looks and sounds really lovely.
martemMemberWe brought Rudi and our dog to the Family ‘n Dog fun day in Festina Leinte on Monday. We did the agility course with both of them and no doubt looked like complete fools trying to coax and coerce two baffled dogs over hurdles and through hoops and tunnels Rudi was great with the crowds of people and the many dogs there. He was totally relaxed and took it all in his stride. He’s still loving his walks and his neck scratches and we are working on the chewing issue (lots of chew toys and keeping temptation out of his way – the linen basket has been moved out of reach!!). He absolutely loves meeting other dogs on our walks and having a good chase if they are willing. More photos to follow.

DSC_0064.jpgmartemMemberAs I type Rudi lies at my feet having a rest. He is doing fine after his operation last week and is due to get his stitches out tomorrow. He has settled in very well into our home and I think he would settle anywhere as he is quiet easy going and not nervous or jittery. He is completely relaxed now when we are out walking and only very occasionally gives a few little woofs when he sees a dog or person coming but he doesn’t mean anything by it. It made us laugh the other day when he went to greet two newly trimmed, so rather scrawny looking, Bichon Frise’s and came running back to us with his tail between his legs with them chasing after him. You would think he was being chased by two Alsatian’s the way he ran to us for protection. He loves being with our dog and I think he would do well in a house with at least one other dog. He is still fascinated by our cats and does like to get as close to them as possible (nose to nose if they are willing) but will come away from them when called. I will upload some more photos later.
martemMemberRudi has just arrived back from the vets after his operation. He is a little tired and really hates the protective ‘lamp shade’ (that’s what my son says it looks like!) around his head but other than that he seems good. He can’t understand why no one is willing to run around the garden playing chase with him. He may have to wait another few days for that. He is doing great generally, loves cuddles and attention, loves to be played with, loves our children, loves walks. He just loves everything basically!
martemMemberCongratulations Karl and his new family.
martemMemberHenry looks like a darling – I especially love the photo with the rabbit. They look like they are really enjoying the movie!! Well done to you for looking after him so well.
martemMemberHere are a few more photos to show this cute boys personality.

727.jpgmartemMemberRudi has been with us for about a week and he is getting on great. He is a really lovely boy, he loves being part of a family. He loves coming over for a pet or a cuddle. We have discovered that his favourite is to get a good scratch on his neck (right under his collar) – he turns his head, leans into the scratch and eventually ends up toppling onto the floor. He is a gorgeous boy with the prettiest face. He is gentle but obviously has a puppy’s energy (starts looking for something to chew when he is bored – we have found him chewing on the odd sock so we have stocked up on some good quality chew toys). When we first got him he did not like getting into the car but now jumps in straight away – always looking forward to his walks. He is really good out walking and always comes back when called. He was a little nervous of other dogs and and people in the beginning, he would give a nervous little bark as they approached, but even that has improved over the week. He is house trained and only had two small accident’s in the first couple of days but we imagine that was mainly nerves at being in a new home. He is a gorgeous puppy and is going to be a wonderful dog and he really deserves a family who will love him and care for him.
