Have to say, really surprised Alan gave this boy up! You know how Dave is with my foster kids, always wants to keep them all, but we do have a soft spot for the "dangerous breeds". I say that looking at my DID petals fast asleep here curled up for their hugs! All the best with your new fur baby, you are very lucky to have such a smasher!
Julie, Dave, Yazz and MelodyjulesmMemberWonder if there is a bit of staffie in her? She has a little face like Mel and your description sounds like she could be!? Shes a complete cutie!
julesmMemberSorry I put comment in new instead of reply, heres hopefully the picture!
298.JPGjulesmMemberHaha bit of an impulse buy! If Yazz was shoes she would be Louboutin! Only reason for my guilt is that we got a cake topper for Sunday of me Dave and Mel and no Yazz!!!!!! We didn’t know! 5days to go though so I’m stuck! Have to say she was in demand and Dave wouldn’t let me disclose her availability. Dave will attach the happy family pic soon! If I could just get her to learn her name is not whistle haha i really would be laughin! Very happy family in the Burke family tonight!
julesmMemberYaz is starting to fill out a bit thank god, such a pretty dog! Shes a bit nippy but we are trying to put a halt to that, shes a clever dog so should be easy enough! Don’t know if its a GSD thing but I’ve another klutz on my hands! Her and Mel falling down the last two stairs on a regular basis in the morning rush to get out the back! Tried her today with a toddler and she was great, straight up and licked his face! Shes a bit of a mystery one, we keep hearing crashes and when we go out shes just sitting there looking at us, we think shes trying to make a fort out of our old bathroom we’ve just pulled out! Cute as a button this one, wise beyond her 9 short months!
julesmMemberI think I speak for me and Dave to say we are very upset we can’t make it because we are getting stupid married that day! Wish he wasn’t so into me or I’d change the day, but would upset his cute little face and then Mel wouldn’t have the same surname!
julesmMemberI’m with ya on that one Tara! Who else would answer my many, many stupid questions and feed and water me and my doggies, think its actually you thats our foster mammy!
julesmMemberAwh thanks Audrey, lovely too meet you too! Thanks to all the girls yesterday who gave my little pals treats and the boosters for Yaz!
Yaz is coming on great, she slept all night at the end of the bedroom in her bed while queen Mel watched from above at the end of our bed! Not usually allowed but while we assert a pack leader we are letting her, and it seems to be working , they are great buds now! Think they were peeved when I had them out by seven for their first walk, they were way too comfortable today! Yaz stays by you for most of walk even off lead, her tummy has settled down and my god does this girl eat! All I need now is a Kim and I’ve got my own 80’s supergroupjulesmMemberWe took the beauty Yasmine in last night with great pleasure! She is as small in size as has been mentioned and very thin but has an appetite of a gannet so the lean little pet will hopefully fill out soon enough! Shes asleep in Mel’s bed her after two long walks today. The first I brought her to a very secure large area for her to roam free and it seems she actually doesn’t respond to her name, but straight back to you on a whistle! 2nd walk was on the lead which was slack for the majority and when we met some kids who ran up to pet her she was a perfect angel! Seems to be housetrained, very playful but unfortunately Mel’s nose is out of joint coz Odie is only gone two days and not too pushed yet! Let me brush her but still nips as gsd pups do! Or as one of her new friends today said shes only teething!
julesmMemberCount me in too, Mel would love the company now Odie is gone! PM me details if its going ahead!
julesmMemberOur lovely Odie went to his forever home today! He has a new best pal, a female gsd around the same age aswell so a good match! Our house is certainly quieter than it was, and Mel was a bit cross with us but hopefully that won’t last! We miss him already but we know his new daddy Conor will take good care of him, and maybe put up the odd picture to give us a little fix of Odie love! Odie, you were an absolute pleasure to us, love your foster mammy and daddy!
julesmMemberCan’t believe I’m only seeing this now! Yes Tara it was a ploy to get me to take on another dog straight away! Melody knew from the off what side her bread was buttered and attached herself to her mammys leg which meant Dave didn’t have the affection he wanted from a man dog! Now we are fostering Odie who adores him and hes constantly on the lookout for more! I gave in a long time ago I never win so I go with the flow! (very very fortunate that I adore them as much as he does) And as it turns out she loves the company! But quite happy to be alone at times too, she likes her comfort and peace does our Mel!
julesmMemberOur lovely Odie is still as lovely as ever! He has a little dermatitis on his inner thigh which he made bald licking at! We brought him up to Paul who despite being his best friend when they first met, he is now not talking too! Very funny when we thought we wouldn’t need a lead going in as he has gone in easily before, and he made his dash to the car to safety! Negotiated the jump and straight up through the open car window! The same dog wouldn’t jump down a two foot drop hes a big jessie! Anyway a week later and it is much improved, he takes tablets no bother and he lets me wash it very patiently! He has a possibility of a new home soon and our hearts are broken thinking of how we will miss him! But he deserves to settle in to his forever home and we can be grateful we got to enjoy him for this long! Oh and turns out the clever clogs can open doors! The open in kind! With no effort just like u or me!
julesmMemberOdie and Mel had their first ever encounter with a pony today! Very funny stuff! Spotted him tied up down by the Tolka and decided they would investigate. The horse sauntered over n the pair of them nearly lost their reason Odie gave off the big bad man barks n the other loon was squaring up to him! Funnniest thing I ever seen til they untethered him and off the pair off them went galloping around Damastown with the horse like they were running the National! Should carry my camera all the time its like watching a carry on film, check out new pics of my cool dudes!
julesmMemberAh thanks Claire, we really do love Odie, determined not to be failed fosterers first time round but so hard to let him go! Might have a forever home soon, at least I won’t look like a complete header with the staffie and German Shep in a convertible heads stuck out lovin how cool they look! I’d say people look at me like I’m a complete nutter! Has to be done though coz they love the water n I’m not near enough to the sea to walk! Will definitely put some pics of that up!
