You are such a gorgeous little girl – I hope that 2014 will be the very best year for you and that you will get to spend it with that special person that was meant just for you….
DeirdreGeorgeandGerryMemberHappy Christmas to All!
We’ve had Gerry with us for 3 years and he’s still the same happy boy as always – is inseperable from his buddy Sisco and still likes to have a little snooze with the cats – very cute. Also likes to have a good chew on nice gold bows that are put around his neck for a christmassy photo!
Have a great Christmas and brilliant New Year
Deirdre
Gerry Christmas.jpgGeorgeandGerryMemberHappy Christmas to everyone at DID!
Sisco has been with us for a year now and doesn’t he just make the cutest present under the tree! Gets on fabulously well with his two canine brothers and three feline ones! Very gentle boy who loves to run and run and run and jump over great spanses in a single leap!
Hope everyone has a beautiful Christmas and a wonderful year to come…

‘ the breeze!.jpgGeorgeandGerryMemberOh Marie, I’d just love to see it! My two little guys are famous, how wonderful!!
Well, Sisco is doing well – cough pretty much gone (just an occasional one every now & then) – Jerry has made it through as well & George didn’t catch it (touch wood!). We’ll be taking Sisco to the Vet for a complete & thorough check this week or early next week. I’ve read that Kennel Cough can still be transmitted, even after symptoms have subsided so, I really want to be extra careful that no other dog has to go through it (nasty thing)…. Anyways, he’s doing great – very happy & playful and coming on in leaps & bounds. Likes to bark at all the poor people & dogs going by, but when have we ever had a dog who doesn’t?! We haven’t renamed him as thought it might be too confusing, with all he’s gone through.. Its a good name for him anyway – we call him ‘the kid’ for short! OK, lets upload some photos – tried getting one of the three boys together last night but, George vanished – I think its the noise of the shutter that gets him – Oh, well…
Ready for my close-up!.jpg

Oh, Marie – I just cannot get George to let me take his photo – I always have to take it in a sneak attack – he has a phobia about cameras & whenever he sees me taking it out, runs a mile!!
Sisco’s nose is getting nice and cold & wet – it was so dry, it was almost cracked, poor guy….
Sisco chewing another ball.jpgGeorgeandGerryMemberWell, here’s Sisco!
Monty picked him up from the pound and he had his head on Monty’s shoulder the whole way home. George and Gerry were beside themselves when he arrived and we introduced them one at a time to him – everything went swimmingly. Then we introduced him to the two cats Gilson & Geno. Great there too. Our Girls just fell in love with him straight away. Then he coughed & we discovered that he had kennel cough. The vet said not much could be done except to give him honey & Kathy told me about Childrens Benylin. His first 4-5 days were very bad with a really nasty productive cough & diarrhoea. Thank God, he has come on in leaps & bounds and is doing really well, still a bit of a cough but digestive system getting better. We have to keep him separate from the other two dogs & he is with us in whatever room we’re in. Unfortunately, Gerry is coughing now too but, its not anything compared to what Sisco’s was – he’s strong. George doesn’t seem to be affected so far – he had had kennel cough when he was in the the ISPCA centre in Longford – we were supposed to pick him up & the whole kennels had been shut down because of it, so we had to wait an extra two weeks – that was 4 1/2 years ago.Anyways, he is just the sweetest dog there is and he loves his toys that were his Christmas presents – or should I say LOVED as there are pieces everywhere!! We have stopped taking him outside the gate so that this doesn’t spread but, he adores playing fetch in the garden – he is super fast! He was painfully thin but, is filling out a little. I used to think that Gerry was thin but, he looks like a giant in comparison! He very loved, content and warm & it feels like he’s been here forever.
Thanks to Kathy for everthing!
And Marie, you’re right – its amazing that we adopted Gerry on the same day – Christmas Pooches! And he definitely has Red Setter in him!
I’ll post some photos – I’ll get better ones soon – I came down with the flu myself on Christmas Eve too.

Gerry Halloween.jpgGeorgeandGerryMemberHi Audrey,
Just read through the whole story of your beautiful little Velvet. It is just so touching and inspiring. She is such an absolute dote and you have had such an amazing commitment to her right from the start. You deserve the highest praise imaginable. I hope Velvet continues to thrive and you both have many, many, many years of happiness and memories ahead.
Well Done – Both of You!
