Lola continues to bounce a lot but her favourite thing is sprinting – I think she believes she is really a greyhound. Once off the lead she really does go like a rocket but thankfully runs back to you every few minutes to have a check in. She loves being off the lead to chase the birds and squirrels and is keeping a keen eye out to make sure no pigeons land in the garden.
Her favourite time of the day is when school is out and all the kids make a fuss of her if we are walking past the village school. She absolutely loves the attention and dances on her hind legs for a cuddle from everyone – my fella who normally gets all the attention can’t understand what all the fuss is about.
She is also very keen on the skinny raw hide sticks – if she’s not chewing one she’s walking around the house with it hanging out of her mouth like a cigarette.
She is a fantastic dog just waiting for her forever lap to sit in!

Hello from Lola’s new foster home. Lola took up residence last Thursday and not just of the house – she seems to have decided people’s laps are the only place worth resting.

Lola is a real bundle of fun, energetic but easy to manage and calm when she’s done her walks or had a little play with my grumpy old dog.
She loves everyone that she sees and wags her tail at all humans and dogs no matter their size. She’s great on the lead and knows some of her commands. She would make a great companion for anyone and I don’t think she would need a home with another dog to be happy.

She has zero awareness of personal space so it doesn’t matter if you’re reading, eating or sleeping, if Lola decides she needs to sit on your lap then it’s going to happen. If she’s very excited she likes to show how agile she is by leaping in the air and jumping from chair to chair, lap to lap so everyone gets some Lola time.
She really is a fantastic little dog with lots if love to share.

Ruby came to stay with us on Monday with her pal Holly. Ruby is a real character, full of beans and has that puppy charm, all gangly legs and throws herself at you for hugs. As soon as she got in the car all she wanted was a cuddle and that hasn’t changed all week. She seems younger than 2 yrs old to me and is quite a large springer, possibly a cross with a Lab?. She has endless energy and ran the length of brittas bay 100 times over this morning.
She has a bit of training but doesn’t know all her commands and pulls on the lead a bit and doesn’t have great recall.
Like her pound friend Holly, she looks for belly rubs and hugs all the time and is very trusting. She had recently been to the vet to be spayed so her coat is in much better condition than Holly’s.
Ruby would really suit someone that can give her a lot of attention and lengthy walks every day – she is very energetic and doesn’t seem to be aware of her size when she comes thundering at you onto the sofa! Her favourite thing of all is to go for a swim in the river – i thought i would never get her out yesterday.
She would most people but I think she would be better with another dog in the house rather than by herself.

Holly and Ruby have been with me since Monday afternoon and what a pair! Holly is a real beauty, very calm and obedient, excellent on the lead and knows all her commands. She seems older than 2yrs and has a lovely wise face. She has loads of energy, very typical of her breed but isn’t frantic. We have let her off lead a few times and she will always come back when called. Holly loves playing with toys, particularly chasing balls and anything with a squeak that she can chew on. She loves her cuddles and her favourite thing is climbing up to put her head and paws on your shoulder….
She has really melted my heart especially as she wasn’t in great condition, a lot of large clumped and matted hair which i had to spend a bit of time cutting off. She is completely trusting though and would let you do anything for a hug.
She would fit into every home i think as she’s so placid and seems to be fine with children that we’ve met.

Ralph has been doing great over the last few weeks and recently got the big snip so is currently bashing around the house with his cone on! His tennis ball chasing record has been put on pause…… He is just the friendliest dog and everyone we meet loves him as his whole body wags to welcome people. He is great with kids and I think he would love to go to a home with children and other dogs. When we go for our walks he just wants to play off lead with whatever dog he meets and last week he happily joined in with a pack of 6 enormous dogs while my own fella nervously watched on. Ralph has bags of personality and is just waiting for his new family to run around the garden with.

Wee Ralph has been with us for the past week and he is an absolute character! He is extremely friendly and just wants to play with everyone he meets including the very biggest dogs (which usually frighten my guy). He doesn’t seem to know commands but is house trained and must be world champion at fetching tennis balls judging by his insistence on practicing for hours a day.
Ralph is very energetic so would suit someone with other dogs and who will ensure he gets plenty of exercise.

He has fitted right into our home and just loves company and plenty of walks.
