Oh cant wait to see him, so much satisfaction when you see them all clean and groomed they always come out smiling.
DowlingcaMemberWell said goodbye to this little man this morning as he is going off to his lovely new home today at lunchtime, there is no way I could be there to see him go out the door, I know he will do great in his new home and will love all the one to one attention with no dogs or children to compete with and a lovely couple to give him all the love he needs. I am looking forward to see how he will get on and delighted for him.
DowlingcaMemberI am delighted to report this morning that Jasper met his fabalous new family on Saturday and it was love at first sight on both accounts, he is still a bit weary of new people when he meets them and gave a few barks, but this only lasted a minute or two and it was not long before he was accepting treats and sitting on demand for them by they time they were leaving he was licking them. I am delighted he has found such a wonderful family who can give him the love and attention he deserves, he will be an only dog so will not have to compete for any attention. He will be heading off sometime this week. I don’t want to be around when he is going as he has stolen my heart but could not wish for a better home for him.
DowlingcaMemberJasper is doing great he had his stitches out on Saturday and the vet was delighted with him, his ears have cleared up a treat and he has put on a nice bit of weight. He loves his walks and also now loves his cuddles, the differnce in him since he has arrived with us is amazing, and it makes you realise why you foster dogs. He is such a happy little fella and full of energy, he is such a clever little thing too, when we come in from our walk we always give the dogs a treat as it encourages them to come in from their walk as we don’t have them on a lead, Jasper is now the first one in the door and sitting in the Kitchen waiting for his treat.
DowlingcaMemberHi think Jasper would be a great little fella for anyone as he is so friendly, all he needs is a walk everyday, and he will reward you with lots of affection. He travels really well in the car and sits quietly, he is just getting better day by day, he has the most affectionate nature we are mad about him. Here is a picture I took of him last night as he was lying on my husbands knee who could resist those eyes!!!
Jasper New.jpgDowlingcaMemberThats a great idea, would love to see what the sisters look like, I hope they are all as loving a Bonnie, she just steals everyones heart with her looks and personality.
Jasper is doing great and his little character is really shining through, he is so settled now and getting better by the day, he was back at the vets on Saturday and is doing great, he is such a happy dog considering the state he was in, he also has a bad ear infection which we are treating at the moment that has also improved greatly, he gets on great with everybody, adults, kids and other dogs, hopefully he will be snapped up soon and he can settle into his new home before christmas so he has somewhere to hang his stocking.
DowlingcaMemberHe really is a great little fella. He has gone in for his little op today and when I left him at the vets he kept crying and trying to get back into my arms, funny after only 3 days he has come to trust us so much. There was a woman in the waiting room nearly in tears when she saw his reaction to me leaving. Just got a call to say that all has gone well for him and can’t wait to pick him up this evening. He is so much calmer now then when he arrived and loves just to sit on your knee. He has taken a real shine to Dexter and does not give him a minute. Last night he sat beside Dexter and licked him from head to toe, we were in stitches looking at the two of them. Dexter just lay there and enjoyed the pampering. Brought him on two walks last night to the park at the end of the road and did not use the lead. He was fine, he does wander a bit but always seem to come back, not by recall mind you so will start working on a bit of basic training at the weekend.
DowlingcaMemberWe we had a great day with Jasper yesterday he is starting to settle down and comes and sits on your knee the novelty of Dextor and Bonnie is wearing off and he is giving them their space. He is a great little fella, there was no hassle with him at night time and he slept all night, had my mum and dad down for dinner last night and he greeted them both nicely, I will bring my neice down at during the week and see how he interacts with children. All in all he is a lovely dog with a really happy and friendly disposition. I managed to get two more photos of him yesterday.

Jasper 2.jpgDowlingcaMemberPicked up this little fella this afternoon he was in a terrible state and very smelly so brought him straight to the groomers as he had so many mats around his eyes and legs I just could not leave him in such a state. A big thank you to Jennifer and Karen in the Dog Salon in Bray who were on their way home when I called they too could not bear to leave him in such a bad state so very kindly said they would stay and groom him, I stayed with him for a little while while they started on him and his coat was so matted it came away like wool from a sheeps back in one big piece, they worked on him for 2.5 hours and he is like a new man now he was very nervous at first in the groomers but think after a few minutes he realised that it was for his own good, I am posting a before and after picture, he is running around the house here and getting used to Dexter and Bonnie as he has never lived with any dogs before, he is very thin and has just dived into a big bowl of food. Sorry for the long post I am looking forward to seeing him develop over the next few days as he settles in. I will try and post some more pictures over the next few days if I can get him to sit still long enough.

Jasper after.jpgOctober 15, 2012 at 8:10 am in reply to: Adviced Needed Please – Is it time for an additional dog? #111819DowlingcaMemberHi, I was in the same as you two years ago and that is why I decided to foster dogs before I got my wonderful Bonnie, fostering allowed me to see how we would all get on with a second dog and yet not committing myself to it if it did not work out, it was not long before we discovered that we and Dexter were well ready for a second dog and now I am back fostering again.
DowlingcaMemberAngie what a lovely post and how great they both look, it was great to meet you a few weeks ago, getting a new little foster Dee Dee tomorrow so watch out for my updates.
DowlingcaMemberJust a little update on Lily she is still doing really well and is turning into a lovely little confident girl, she is spotless around the house, and one of the quietest dogs I have ever seen I still have not heard her bark!!!!! we have 3 little 12 year old students staying with us at the moment as she is loving the attention and loves them to bits and equally they love her so I know that she will be good with children, I will be lucky if she is not put in a suitcase and brought back to Italy at the end of the week. I really hope she finds a forever home soon for her own sake but she is one of the best house guests I have had.
DowlingcaMemberWell I cannot say enough about this little girl we are madly in love with her she is a quiet lady that just oozes love she is happiest when sitting on you knee and she puts her head on your chest and looks into your eyes and your heart just melts. The differnce in her since she arrived is amazing she is the first now to greet us in the morning and loves her walks we let her off the lead now and comes straight back to you when called. She will now sit on command too. When she first arrived i would have said she would only probably suit a house as an only dog as she was better with people than other dogs but now she is as thick as thieves with our two and snuggles into them on the couch, so I think she would now also suit a house with other dogs, sorry for the long rant but I can’t help myself, dying to see her settled into a permanent house where she can put down her four legged roots.
DowlingcaMemberHi All,
Another great day with Lily she has settled in really well and he coming out of her shell more and more each day. Here is a few new pictures of her.

mail.jpgDowlingcaMemberWell this little girl arrived to me on Friday evening thanks to Tracey for collecting her from the pound and meeting me in Tallaght.
She is a lovely little thing with the smallest face I have every seen on a dog and danity legs, she is a quiet and reserved little girl but coming out of her shell a little bit now. When she arrived in the house she found herself a little spot on the couch and just slept all evening and night never moved she must have been exhausted, and she was the same on Saturday morning so I just left her to her own devices. Eventually she ventured down and had something to eat, and looked a little perkier.
She is definitely house trained as we have had no accidents in house whatsoever. My friends called over on Saturday evening with their little girl and Lilly went straight over to her and sat on her knee and cuddled into her for the night so she is obviously well used to children.
She does not pay much attention to Dexter and Bonnie she just does her own thing. All in all a very impressive little lady who would make a great pet for someone, hopefully she won’t be long finding her forever home and she can start living her life again.
I will try and put up some pictures later on.
