New to board today! Met this dal for the first time on Sat and went up to walk her today. We already have a rescue dal from Ashton for the past few years and believe it or not, they end up in places like there all too frequently. We are mad keen to adopt her – I’ve had dals all my life (all rescue, except one!). It concerns me greatly that these dogs are rehomed to people without any knowledge, much less experience of the breed. Whilst they are adorable companions, if people were aware of the full facts associated with this breed, dals like Calista would not end up in Ashton. This breed is complex and often misunderstood. The movie has done the breed such a disservice as these dogs are purchased like commodities for mammy’s little darlings and soon discarded when they begin to grow up and show their boundless energy.
We would love this girl to have a forever home with us, we have registered our interest (filled form out today) and although there are others interested, we are all keeping our fingers and paws crossed that she can join our family! Our ex Ashton dal has thrived with us – from a shivering skeletal wreck, to the fun filled happy lass she is today, and we would just love to give this girl the same opportunity. Sorry for long post!
