Mitch stayed with me when he first came out of the pound.
He was a great little man and mixed in well with ten other dogs at the time.
I am very sorry for him that he has been uprooted again and I am sure he is confused but he certainly has made himself at home with Maeve, Mark and family.
Love the photos Maeve they are really good.
They all look so content munching on their treats but the pillow is excellent.
Look forward to seeing the little man next week for his makeover…………………ten years younger and all that.
He will come back smelling of CK1 and be totally huggable.
His next home needs to be his last move for his sake.

She really looks like a real cutie now that she is more white than pink.

Well Benji is doing very well and having great fun playing with Chase his new buddie.
He had his first vaccination and did not affect him in the slightest, which is all good. He is approx 2 years old according to the vet.
He is back tomorrow for a wash and a skin scrape and I am hoping its negative and if so he will be totally finished the treatment.
He has come a long way in three and a half months.
I took him out to the field the other night with two of my dogs but kept him on a long line just incase he go a fright and after 10 mins he was pulling me along to chase after the other two.
He will never be Mr Confidence but I think he will be able to have an enjoyable life now that he knows how to be a dog.
He also has a new Mom and home to go to when he is ready which is great news for him :D

This man is coming on really well he has made hugh progress in the past ten days.
He had complications with the neuter and had to have an open drain fitted for five days to reduce the fluids as he had swollen up and although he was on Rimadal all that happened was he went off his food. Drain is now removed and is back in flying form again.
    Totally loving his food.
More importantly he will now come to me when called and let me pet him. This has taken three months to get him to trust humans at all and this week he went to Sarah to be petted as well.
He is still scared of men even boys so we are now working on that.
He is having great fun with Chase and now knows how to play with another dog which is a great improvement.
Another move this week has been that he now comes out into the kitchen with the other dogs and waits to be fed, and then stays and eats with them. I know most people would think this is nothing but if you met him last May you would have thought he was beyond rehabilation at all, even the vet suggested otherwise to which I nearly murdered him myself.

Before he would run into his bed and wait for it to arrive, now he has started eating in the kitchen among all the others which is a major step forward.I will try for some more photos this week.
He was back for his skin washes on Friday and the vet said he is ready for vaccinations now so all looking good for the man.

Well Master Chase is back with me and what a great dog.
He is fantastic with all dogs big and small…….. no surprise there as he had a good grounding, For many who may not know Chase was with me in Ashill as a puppy with all his brothers and sisters and his Mum.
He is so good with a ball and can jump so high he would be great at agility.
He will sit, stay, give the paw and lie down.
He is great with Kealan who is nearly 9 years and not too bouncy at all.
He spent ages last night catching Popcorn chicken in mid air while Kealan threw it for him.Kealan thinks he is the best dog in the world at the moment..
He is very loving and affectionate. I have had him out off lead in the rececourse and he was super no trouble at all.He was also good in the jeep.
Liz and family have done great work with him its just unfortunate that family circumstances beyond their control made them look for a new home for him.
But they did have his interests and welfare at heart and thats what matters most.
Whoever adopts this special boy……..and I say this as they have to get past me first………will be very lucky, a definite star in the making.

472.00 left……………Just to let everybody know this is what D.I.D do with the money they have………….spend it on helping dogs.
We dont distinguish where the dog comes from or where the dog is.
If we as an organisation can help we will and have done so on lots of other occasions.
We are not limited to only helping the dogs in Ashton Pound, which we do and even if I say so myself we do a very good job of it.
The PTS figures speak for themselves since we got involved.

All of the Admin people involved in D.I.D. have a hugh responsibility and most of the time a thankless one except from the dogs, which is why we still do it. People have no regard that these people have another life and are not on call 24/7.
You cant get an answer from the DSPCA after office hours and if you adopt a dog from them and it does not work out they wont take it back unless you pay 100.00 euros………..great……really helpful especially for the dog.
The reason I am writing this is that there has been several rumours being spread about D.I.D. over the past 12 months and I am really fed up with it. Walk in our shoes for one week and then tell me if you want to be INVOLVED in Animal Rescue.

In future if anyone has a problem or need clarification regarding the workings of D.I.D. then please phone me, my no. is everywhere on the net. I have nothing to hide or nothing that cannot be explained.

At the end of the day if you get it wrong you get slated but by God if you happen to get it right…………look out.
It always makes me wonder when these people who have nothing better to do but spread gossip go to bed at night can they really say THEY MADE A DIFFERENCE TODAY………. I know we can and will continue to do so.

Well little Mittens is a girl and a real sweetie.
She is full of fun and mischief and loves toys.
She has been wormed, vaccinated and flea treated.
She is fine around dogs. She was checked for HIV and it came back negative.
She is munching through Royal Canin Kitten and had a sample of Tuna Fish tonight.
As I am writing this she is under the desk pouncing on imaginary moving objects but now she found a spider. She loves rolling onto her back to get her tummy scratched and keeps her claws under wraps.
She is a lovley little girl and very gentle with children.
She is residing in my bathroom at the moment but I am sure she would like a change of address with a bit more company.

Well Benji is still doing well but hates when you take the camera out.
He has now weighed in at 17.1kg. He has hair in most places now but its slow to come back on his legs and the top of head.
He got neutered yesterday and is coping really well not bothering about the stitches at all.
He met Mittens the kitten yesterday and no bother at all.
His skin scrape on his body came back clear of mites but unfortunatly they found one little bugger between his toes so we have to do three more washes.
He now has learned to play which is a real improvement and not scared when Flint the collie launches on top of him from the couch.
I will get some more photos asap.

This is one of the best pups I have ever met.
I walked him all around Dunboyne on Saturday after his make over and you could walk him on your finger he just loved everyone, children, buggies and traffic.
He is so sweet and gentle and all he wants to do is lick you.
A real diamond……Someone is going to be so lucky to get this fab boy.

I am sure she is sorted and will be well loved.
Best of luck maggot…..Benji and Dean think you are lost somewhere out in the garden……but little do they know that you now have undivided attention and loving it. :D

Well just when I thought Benjis weight had levelled off he totally surprised me on Tuesday when he weighed in at 16.5 kg. This is really good as he started off at around 11kg.
He is still shy and timid but improving.
He had his first real Mange wash on Tuesday and suffered no side effects at all which is excellent. Although the dilution was reduced by 50 % just in case.
Unfortunatly the raw skin had erupted in the middle of his haed and on the inside of his legs last week but hopefully its under control again.
He is now picking up toys but does not know what to do with them and he run arounfd the garden after the other dogs trying to play but as soon as they oblige he gets a panic attack and does not know what to do next.
His girlfriend Myla went off to her new home yesterday I am sure he is wondering where she has dissapeared to and Dean hisnother buddie will be leaving next week.
Will get new photos as soon as his face improves again.

Wow I cant believe Nala has got so big she has really stretched.
God love her she has had such a bad start she just does not know how to be a dog.
Love the photo of her minding Pixie :)
Well done she is in the best place for her to come on and realise life is not so bad.
She looks great now compared to the little, boney flea ridden mite Sarah took out of her car I was really shocked and wondered where we would start with her as she had so many problems.
Well lets hope she keeps improving little by little………Well done Liz, Tony, Cassie and Sheeba for caring. ;) ;)

Poor little Judy was left into a vets for boarding and never collected.
The poor little girl but maybe its the best thing that has happened her as the vets contacted us and asked if we could help and hopefully now she will go into foster and then find a home that will appreciate her and love her………just what she deserves ;)
Humans never cease to amaze me.
