DID RescueKeymaster
Alan I have one of those blow up collars and they are really soft and much easier. I bought it for Bethanie the collie I had in foster and I gave Kim a loan of it for Hailey and she found it fantastic.
It is like a swim ring but tightened with velcro.
If you are up in Dublin I will give you a loan of it, it makes a hugh difference to the dog. When you are there I would take the collar off ,after the first day they are usually very good about going near the stitches.
I don’t use the usual collars much as I have seen the bruising that they can cause,I would always be more worried about the females rather than the males as it would be a much bigger surgery and a lot of internal work.
Whereas the boys it is a lot easier.
Also if you feel he is a bit uncomfortable at night I give them 5ml of Calpol and it helps. A vet in Newbridge told me that years ago.
Let me know if you need the collar and I can meet you.
Anything to make a handsome guy comfortableDID RescueKeymasterYou are dead right Audrey they are more like the Duracell Bunnies.
They hardley ever stop, they are still playing as I type this. I am not sure who needs valium me or them.I have to say Buttons was great at bringing Mollie out of herself.
Mollie does not have many social skills around other dogs ,its not that she does anything but she was very nervous at the start………no surprise but she got a steep learning curve in this house with all the dogs, and she is doing very well ,even if she is a bit rough at play sometimes with Buttons……….but they are all still alive and well.Mollie is good with everyone. a little wary at first but quickly adjusts.
I have had her on anxiety drops just to help her along.
She is smaller in height than a Westie and lightweight.
She has had a starter tidy up and we will finish it tomorrow.
More photos soon but all I keep getting are blurrs………… need one of the high speed professional one’s to catch them in motion.DID RescueKeymasterI met this girl last week and she was so good getting her vaccination and microchip. She also met Kealan and was very well behaved.
She is fully grown now so could be classed as a medium sized dog.
As Justine said she is unusual, she has wire type hair on her muzzle, maybe thats the terrier part.
Lets hope her new family are not far away or on holidays which seems to be the majority of people at the moment……….I am jealousDID RescueKeymasterAnother Meath man
Linda is Penny still playing chase with him? They seemed to hit it off straight away.
He has the sweetest nature and would fit into any family and be a great addition, full of fun and as Linda said a real happy chappie.DID RescueKeymasterThis little guy is a hoot. He also came from Meath Pound.
He has real attitude a typical terrorist trait.
He is in good condition, nice weight and a good shine on his coat.
Someone will have great fun with this boy.DID RescueKeymasterThis is a great little man who spent 8 days in Meath Pound.
He travelled on the back seat with Kealan and not a bother, in fact as soon as he got a pet he jumped straight onto Kealans lap.
The poor lad had a cat collar on so tight I had to get a scissors from Georgina to cut it off.
He was delighted with his first trip around the garden and you could nearly see him saying………look at me I am free to run…… and wee. I would say he is about three years old.
A great little man with a lovable nature.DID RescueKeymasterYou will hear back in the next few days.
DID RescueKeymasterFantastic photos I love the two of them snuggled up together but the one of them in the press hiding is a hoot
DID RescueKeymasterJust to update this now as the total for the month is now 47.
Now thats a lot of dogs helped.
Well done everyone who continue to help the dogs in need as they cant speak for themselves and depend on us humans to put it right.DID RescueKeymasterFair play to Luna for taking this little man under her wing (literally).
I love the photo of him under her.
The boys are doing a great job too……..Well done boys.
He looks so much better now , has lost that wormy shaped belly and shaping up well.
Eric in Kinsealy knows DID well the next time you are there remind him of the 10% discount agreed with Aidan (the owner) for all DID dogs.
Well done on doing a great job, its hard to believe this little man could have been dead. Cant understand it and never will.DID RescueKeymasterGreat photos better apply for the licence sooooon……
DID RescueKeymasterWhat a fantastic looking Teddy Bear.
He really seems to love the children which is great.
The peeing problem is most probably caused by the confinment on the balcony and no choice when he needed to go as he was in this situation from a puppy.
I love the naughty step idea for dogs except here with all my lot I would need the whole stairs
Its fantastic that your wife could walk him with a buggy that just shows how good and happy he is.
I know he was well looked after but I find it so hard to imagine a boy of his size living in such a confined space. I would be so terrified a dog would try to jump out of a balcony.
Well done with the Bear.DID RescueKeymasterWell done Dylan for helping Sam I am sure he would say thanks with lots of licks.
You can check on his progress here and read all his updates.
These poor dogs dont have a voice so its important to them that we humans step in and help.
He looks like a very cute little man and I am sure he will get a fantastic home.
Just to let you know before any dog leaves our care for their forever home they are neutered, wormed, vaccinated, microchipped and home checked and an adoption agreement signed.
Also if anything changes in their home we always take them back into our care.
Well done you we need more like you.DID RescueKeymasterThis beautiful girl is with me and she is having a great time at the moment as sh has a new boyfriend called Chester.
He is just the right size for her and they play all day.
Its good for him too as his previous home was with two boxers and he was been bullied all the time.
Being with Buttons it has restored his faith in other dogs and he has learned to play with toys and she has learned to share.
Buttons had a problem with play biting, something she should have grown out of by this age but the good news is she has now stopped this which is great.
She is totally housetrained, great off lead and sits on command.
She is a very loving little girl and very affectionate.
My nine year old can walk her on the lead.
She had a bath before her photos and was as good as gold.
All the other dogs dont like the swing seat but she loves it.
Will update on her later in the week.DID RescueKeymasterThanks Angela they look great together, a perfect match in all respects. Charlie I see is taking on the matriarch position……..just keeping an eye on the kids….Bless him he looks a real sweetheart.
Delighted to hear the small ones are getting on well, no doubt Lucy is the boss -
