Oh Indianna it is truly wonderful to read your posts on Cassie and to hear that she has arrived safely to her fab forever family. I met her very briefly yesterday when I collected her from Nina and dropped her to the pick-up point in Balbriggan. When I saw her little timid worried face with her favourite towel heading off into the unknown I have to admit I cried but now less than 24 hours later she is running the fields in bonny Scotland. Just another happy ending thanks to you for giving her a second chance and to the hard work and dedication of Marie and Kathy and all in D.I.D. :D

We collected this gentle quiet little lady from the pound at the weekend. When we first saw her there our hearts broke, she was shaking in her bed too terrified to even lift her head. After a lot of coaxing we eventually got her out of her "cell" and into the car. She is an absolutely gorgeous dog, very timid yet wants so much to please and be loved. As I write this post she is cuddled up beside me and won’t leave my side. She follows me everywhere just wanting reassurance. She cowers a lot when people approach yet is extremely friendly when she realises that they are friends. It is wonderful to see her growing in confidence each day. She is housetrained, great with other dogs, loves her walks, is very affectionate and justs wants to be part of the family. She is quite playful yet is also very happy to relax all day. We all love her already. Photos to follow.

Well our Goldie has left us to go to his wonderful forever home with his new Mam and Dad, Roisin and Ed, and, believe it or not, seven cats. I have to admit that we shed more than a few tears when he left but having received lots of texts since I know he couldn’t be in a better home anywhere. In fact it looks like Goldie, now named Louis, is having the time of his life and even has a new girlfriend who lives next door. Hope, our dog, Meg won’t read this as she misses him terribly!! I know Louis is going to keep in touch and it is great to hear how spoilt he is because he deserves the best after all he has been through. Thanks Roisin and Ed for giving him a second chance.

Well this fab boy,Goldie, has a new name in our home. He is called Mr Twirl. Anytime he gets excited he walks around in a circle and sometimes we think he will collapse. Yesterday he did seven twirls without a break. This dog is truly amazing; he is everything you could ask from a pet and more. We all, including Meg our staffi, absolutely love him to bits and can’t imagine our home without him. He is still nervous around men but this will improve with time. He would make a wonderful pet for any home. He loves his little walks, travels really well in the car, is very playful, especially with Meg, and is so affectionate to everyone in the family. We adore him. Can’t bear to think of him ever leaving us but this is what fostering is all about, isn’t it?

Goldie and Meg are the very best of friends, they are inseparable and love chasing each other around the house. He likes to show his affection by constantly licking Meg on the face, lucky girl!! Will try to get some photos of them if they stay still long enough. :D

Goldie apologises for not being in touch but he has been busy over the last week getting his stitches out and discovering that life can be great and not scary as he has obviously experienced. He seems to be a little timid and nervous on meeting new people but once he builds up trust he is amazing. We had a major breakthrough yesterday when he licked my husband for the first time, he has clearly been mistreated by men in the past. I just cannot think of enough compliments to say about this little man. He is just a gem, so affectionate, gentle. quiet, obedient, handsome and just wants to please all the time, in fact he is the perfect Man, Goldie I mean of course!! He loves playing with Meg, our staffi, so a home with or without another dog would suit. He loves travelling in the car, and does his twirls whenever he gets excited. He is great on the lead and has no problem meeting other dogs. We love Goldie and hope that he gets the forever home he truly deserves.

This handsome little man in in foster with us, thanks to Andrew who collected him from the Vet after his little "snip". He is recovering very quickly and has already won over all our hearts. He is unbelievably quiet in fact you would almost forget he is in the house. We think he must have been mistreated along the line because he is very nervous of all sudden movements and sounds. When we first met he cowered whenever anyone went close to him especially my husband but it is amazing how quickly he is beginning to relax and more importantly trust us. He is fully housetrained and so well behaved. He is so happy when we come into the house greeting us with his beautiful wagging tail and lots of kisses. He also does his little twirls with excitement. He gets on very well with Meg, our staffi, and he also likes to do his own thing like sneaking upstairs and finding a bed to snooze on. At the moment he is stretched out on my daughter’s bed sound asleep and very happy. All his wants is to be cuddled and loved but then again who doesn’t? He will make a wonderful addition to any home. Photos to follow.

Oh Deelo it’s great to see that you are so happy out and about playing ball after five long weeks of crate rest. You were an excellent patient and will, hopefully, get your forever home very soon. We all miss cuddling you and receiving so many kisses in return. Looks like you are being completely spoilt in your new foster home you lucky boy. Meg sends her love, she misses her Cassanova big time!!

What can we say about our little man Deelo. He has to be the quietest dog we have ever met, in fact you would almost forget he is in the house. He is so gentle and affectionate and would make a wonderful pet for any home. He is tiny and all he wants is to sit beside you on the couch getting lots of cuddles. He is obviously getting a little better every day judging by his interest in Meg, our staffi, he only wishes he could lift his leg a bit higher but anyway he gets full marks for trying!! She is loving the attention and is very gentle with him, he is constantly licking her eyes and face and today was even licking her feet – now where would you get a man who would woo you like that. He is fully housetrained and sleeps all night. Will keep you updated on this Cassanova.

We collected this little patient from the vet in Dunboyne on Friday and what a cutie he is. He has to be caged for the next five weeks until his pelvis heals so he is occupying the cage that Mandy left and it seems enormous for him. He is a little gem – quiet, affectionate and well-behaved. He loves his cuddles and likes nothing better than snuggling into you while licking you to bits. Our Meg has accepted him very well despite the difference in their size but is wondering if she will ever get a friend who isn’t behind bars!! Photos to follow.
