Well Cara has certainly made herself at home over the past week. She is a little gem so affectionate and loving to everyone and gets on brilliantly with our gang. She looks so happy on her walks on the beach with her little tail wagging with delight. She is very easygoing and we love her little personality. She is growing in confidence every day and is a very happy little soul. She is very undemanding and would suit any home lucky enough to adopt her. Will update with photos tomorrow :D

This little sweetheart arrived last week. Thanks to Caroline for doing transport. When she arrived she was timid and cowered a lot particularly if you tried to pet her. But she quickly settled in with our other three young ladies. She is a pleasure to have in the house being quiet, obedient and fully house trained. She is great with other dogs and with people – young and old. She absolutely loves her walk on the beach, bouncing along and wagging her tail. We let her off the lead all the time and she always stays close by. Our three dogs love her. They all cosy up together every night and go to sleep without making a sound. She loves cuddling into you and showering you with kisses. It’s hard to believe that anyone could abandon this sweet natured little treasure. She is an absolute perfect pet for any loving home.

Hello. My name is Ellie. I used t be Carrie. My foster family took me out of the Pound and then adopted me. I now live with Mika and Cherry and I love it here and am so happy to be part of a family again. I just want to wish everyone a happy Christmas and thank you all for making me and all the other dogs so happy. I especially want to thank Marie, Kathy, Claire and all the other people who have changed our lives so much and without whom we probably wouldn’t even be here this Christmas. If I had a wish it would be that there will be no dogs in the Pound this Christmas. Here’s a photo of me and my sister, Mika. Thanks again to everyone in Dogs in Distress and have a happy and safe Christmas and a brilliant new Year. Ellie XXX

Hello Everbody and Fans all over the Galaxy -it’s me, Mika. Just thought I’d send you some photos and let you know what’s buzzing around here. It’s been an eventful week. First of all, did I tell you I allowed Colette adopt me after a long enough fostering. Well, it’s not a bad home. I liked the joint and there was only me and Carrie so I’m the boss naturally. Everything was going along swimmingly until I heard Colette taking a call from Cathy and off she goes to the Pound. Here we go again, I thought. I’m hoping it’s just a transfer or if it’s a foster then it’s a good looking dude. We could do with some male company. But in she comes with this long legged elegant beauty about five times taller than me – one of those Greyhound Super models, called Cherry. Mother hen or what! Anyway as it turns out me and Carrie love her to bits. Here’s some photos. I’m looking good, right?

Mika to Planet Earth, Mika to Planet Earth, Come in Planet Earth . So sorry for not being in touch for a while but I have been recovering from my little op and am now a super duper Space Trooper. I have been very busy bonding with my foster sis, Carrie, and babysitting my Gran. She thinks I take after her side of the family but personally I can’t see the resemblance. What do you think?

Thanks for the lovely photos of Luna. She looks great. It’s amazing the difference a week can make. We’re so happy to see she has settled in so well. Give her a big hug from us.

Mika has been with us almost a week and I cannot think of enough good things to say about this little sweetheart. She is absolutely no trouble and her love knows no bounds. She was at the fundraiser in Pet World in Santry yesterday and enjoyed meeting lots of people and furry friends. She loves everyone big or small. Hopefully she will find her forever family soon. Here are some photos. :D

We collected Mika from the pound on Monday and she is such a little sweetie. She is unbelieveably friendly, in fact all she wants to do all day is to shower you with love and affection. This is the first opportunity I have to write this post as Mika is asleep in her bed and not interrupting me with her constant kisses. She sleeps all night without a sound and is housetrained. I would describe her as a perfect little dog who would be suitable for any family, she loves everyone, is great on the lead and gets on well with other dogs. Photos to follow tomorrow.

Cindy went off to her forever home at the weekend with Susan and Ashley. They had travelled all the way from Wicklow to meet her and it was love at first sight. She is such a lucky girl and I know she will have a very happy life. We miss Cindy, she was a pleasure to have in our home :D e.

The minute I saw Cindy in Urgent Dogs I knew I wanted to foster her. We picked her up in the pound yesterday and we knew we had made the right decision. Here looking at us was a terrified really skinny little girl with eyes that would melt your heart. In the 24 hours she has been with us she has certainly done that. This little beauty is amazing. Despite what she has been through after initially hiding under the table and desperately trying to be invisible she is now lying on the couch cuddling into me looking for lots of tlc. She was also very brave today and went to support the DID Fundraiser organised by Marie ( 3 Lab Lady) in Best Buds, Killester, and met lots of kind people and her foster friends. She is getting on very well with Carrie and they are already sharing toys, beds etc. She slept all night without a sound and had her walk on the beach this morning. She is great on the lead and just wants to please you all the time. Can’t believe we only have her 24 hours. It always amazes me why this breed of dog is never really wanted, they are incredibly affectionate, so giving in every way, a fabulous companion and the saddest yet most beautiful eyes you could imagine. Will update again tomorrow.
