An update from Jessie! We have had her over 2 years now, which flew by! She is still the happiest and friendliest dog as ever. Health wise, she still has her ups and downs. Her itchy skin is something that we will never be able to tackle, so she is on a constant dose of steroids, atopica and weekly showers. She isn’t in the best shape for walking but enjoys a few short ones a day when she is able!
She spends her days watching and following Lola (our other dog) and doing everything she does. She won’t go outside to the bathroom unless lola does or won’t go on a walk unless lola is going! And she won’t go out at all if it is raining!
She also spends her day talking for Ireland! Especially in the morning, she loves saying hello to everyone with her typical Westie talk!
I’ve attached some photos of her! And here is a couple of links to funy videos of her that really displays her personality!

Thanks Jean…it is great to hear she is so happy & loved ![]()
Great to hear she is doing so well. She is loved so much at yours and DID for looking after yours. Im so happy that everythinghas turned out so well for Jessie after the horrible start she had in life. ![]()
Sadly the beautiful Jessie had to be put to sleep just before Christmas. Her best pal, our other dog Lola had only passed a couple months before that.
Poor Jessie’s health caught up with her in the end and she didn’t recover too well from a minor surgery she had due to a bad womb infection.
She was the happiest little Westie there was and we miss her dearly. Despite all her health problems, she was always cheerful and constantly talking away to everyone, looking for a snuggle and waking everybody up in the morning because she said so! She never recovered her hair on her chest or belly so she remained as "Jessie to baldly Westie" right up until the end! The house is truly empty without her and Lola.
Thanks to Cathy and the rest of the guys inDogs in Distress for taking her in and giving her a second chance after her terrible start to life. She brought us so much happiness.
We are not ready just yet to rescue another dog but in time.

Thank you for letting us know about Jessie’s passing. You gave her love and the life she so deserved.
I am so sad to hear of Jessie’s passing and thank you for letting us know You gave her love and the life she so deserved.
Im so sorry to hear of Jessie and Lola’s passing …having lost my own soul mate Rossi back in September I totally feel your pain…you gave Jessie the best chapter of her life and you gave Lola a great friend too…
Thinking of you at this saddest of times and hopefully you will in time give your heart again to another dog who needs rescusing
I was reading this post from page 1 and thought what a beautiful outcome for Jessie and then realized that the last post was poor Jessie’s passing. So sad for you losing 2 dogs in a short space of time. You must be heartbroken. But what a wonderful life you gave Jessie! The photos tell it all – well done for loving her and making her last years so happy. RIP Jessie.
Oh poor Jessie
and poor you
. I know these are hollow words when you are feeling so devastated but always cling on to the wonderful life you gave Jessie for the last few years. She could not have wished for a better home and she was so loved and cared for – you can really take a bow. The loss of your two dogs in such a short space of time is unimaginably painful but time will heal and one day you will feel able to open your door to a new pal.
Thank you so much for all you gave to Jessie. ![]()
I Only Wanted You
They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true;
I never wanted memories
I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you
a million times I cried;
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still;
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane;
I’d walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same;
But as God calls us one by one
the chain will link again.

That poem says it all…….
At least she knew love just wish it had been for longer.
Thank you for the time you gave her.
I am so so sorry for your double loss. Your kindness and love changed Jessie’s life. May she run free with Lola. Thinking of your family. What a terrible loss.
