Hope the photos are gorgeous wherever you go!! by the way if I had to choose between the two and disregarding the cost I’d definitely go for Richard Gavin, he even threw me in a free small print of Harry after I bought 2 (quite expensive) large ones. ;)

Hi there, the one I went to is in the pavillions shopping centre, swords. It’s in a room at the back of mothercare. My friend and I went and both had our dogs (a cairn and a mini-schnauzer) done in one sitting, some of them together and some of them on their own. We had a choice of backgrounds, blankets to sit on/baskets to sit in etc.. They ask you what photo you would like as your €10 picture and you are obliged to buy this one and pay for it in advance, the one I thought would look best didn’t look all that great at all when I saw it (the lighting was crap and Alf looked awful in it as it was very close up-it was the only photo that didn’t look nice) but My friend and I both bought a complete set of one other photo which is another medium/large photo, a small/medium photo and 4 wallet size ones. Each set cost €55, you also have the option to buy fridge magnets frames-€3, keyring frames €3 and photo frames- €20 per set.
A word of warning: They took about 20 gorgous photos of Alfie and it was sooo hard to choose just one. I don’t think I would’ve been able to see them and just walk away with my one €10 photo, particularly because it wasn’t half as nice as the other ones! They told me that they’ll keep all the other pictures for one year and then dispose of them ib case I want to go back and get more. I suppose the €10 photo is just the lure to get you in for a session.
Another friend of mine saw pixi-photo in Tesco Clare-hall-they regularly do photo sessions in shopping centres and asked if they’d do her dog. They said that they’d do it on the last time slot on the last day they’d be there as they’d have to wash the props after the dog.
If you’re willing to splash out I also had my boxer done in Richard Gavin studio on the Malahide Road. He did a super job, had a big studio for him to run around and the photos and backgrounds were a little bit classier than pixi photo.
    Hope this helps,
    Yvonne

My boxer developed kennel cough a few days after leaving the pound, it was a really bad cough and he also had really thick green mucus running from his nose, he then passed it on to my mini-schnauzer. They were brought to the vet and the boxer needed a full two courses of anti-biotics and the schnauzer needed three before it cleared up, maybe it was a particularly bad strain as I’ve heard that it usually just goes away by itself. The vet eventually gave me a prescription for the chemist and I had to go and get the schnauzer tablets usually used on people. These finally worked but did upset his stomach so he was given special canned food for a few days..Hope your dog gets better soon. If your dog’s cough doesn’t clear up send me a message and I could ring my vet and ask for the name of the drugs that eventually workeed.

Sooty (aka Henri) is doing well living with my schnauzer Alf and I. He is a dog with a lot of energy and can walk for a good hour without showing any signs of tiring but at the same time he will lie quietly in your arms when you pick him up. He is quite a hyper little dog and greets people by bouncing up and down on his back legs with his forelegs stretched towards them.
We are working on the toilet training and we’re nearly there, just a few accidents here and there but so much better than he was when he arrived. He sleeps in a cage at night time and goes to bed quietly and doesn’t make noise during the night. He has not had any night-time accidents for a few nights now so fingers crossed it will stay that way.
Sooty loves playing and often disappears under the couch where he has a stash of toys he also loves sitting on window sills and watching the world going by.
When Sooty arrived he had lice and ear-mites but he has been treated for them as well as groomed so his coat is now shining and so healthy looking! He is an ideal little house dog as his coat is non-shed. His coat is not the typical curly poodle coat but more like that of a schnauzer, soft and wavy with wiry grey hairs interspersed through it.
Sooty is a mini schnauzer/mini poodle cross. He looks very like a miniature poodle but his coat type (and beard!) are that of a schnauzer. He is a very light dog and only weighs a few kilograms. He is confidnt around other dogs but tends to jump on them to entice them into playing with him. In the picture he is just back from the groomers. There is another picture of him sitting with Alf in fan pictures on the did facebook page.

Personally I’d just go and take them rather than making the long journey twice, you could walk them/spend a few hours with them with the owner before taking them so they’ll be used to you, and they’ll have the security of each other too. If you need any other advice on this breed you can pm me as I have a mini schnauzer myself.
I’d also ask the owners how they usually travel by car. My local petshop sells pet seatbelts, they’re just like a harness but clip in where a seatbelt usually does and they’re great. The dogs have enough length to move around/sit/lie down in the seat comfortably but can’t jump from one side of the car to another. The small size I bought was €20. (The pup would probably need the extra small size) They might be worth investing in if the dogs are usually not usually restrained in the car. If they usually travel in a pet carrier/cage I’d buy one of them.
Good luck with your new schnauzers, they’re a lovely breed :)

Does this girl need a foster home or a forever home? I know some-one looking for a small spaniel but they haven’t applied for their home visit yet..might be able to foster if needed..

Update: This little boy is most likely a schnoodle: a schnauzer/ poodle mix. He has his adult teeth so is probably around 7 months old. He’s full of fun and really friendly.

There’s a great skin shampoo called dermocanis you could use. Its a skin wash and expensive for a shampoo but it works! The coat and skin is spotless after use. You shampoo it in and leave for a few minutes.I think you can only buy from a vet.
