MemberE.J is a super little dog full of love and affection. He is now with his new foster dad where I know he will receive lots of lovin’. He stayed with me for a couple of hours this afternoon. He was very good in the car on the journey home. He followed me around the house and when I went on to the computer he got up on the inside window ledge so that he could be closer and get a better look at what I was doing. He was barky with my cat, although the tail did wag all the time. She and I decided not to take any chances so we gave a wide bearth. He did not go mental when he heard her moving around upstairs so it would be difficult to say if he is an out and out cat hater. He has lots of personality, loves his toys and is food/ treat focused. He will make a great little companion for someone or a family. On the whole, he was a quiet little guy while he was here.

MemberI keep thinking about the lovely Brian, but unfortunately not in a position to offer him that forever home that he really deserves. I was taken by him initially by his photo and I know I shouldn’t judge the book by the cover, but in this case I was right. He was so attractive and lovely when I met him in the pound. I had the opportunity to get to know him a little bit better when I drove him to his fantastic foster home. He was lovely to his new foster mum and her lovely son and was very gracious and kind towards her own two dogs. What was really touching about the brief experience I had with Brian was how quickly he attached himself to me. After he had his greeting and a little run outside he came back inside to me immediately and greeted me like as if we were old time friends. I imagine it will be very difficult to say goodbye to Brian when the time comes but if he finds his forever home here in Ireland I think it will be a lot easier on everyone, especially Brian. Please read Brian’s thread to find out what a beauty he is.

MemberDes is very very shy. He needs a little coaxing out of his Kennel. He is a beautiful looking dog. I did not get to walk him, but it looks as if he is good on lead and comes out of himself once he is out and about.

MemberConnie looks so cosy and warm in your house. You were so good to offer her respite even if for such a short time. It is sad to think that she is now in the pound, probably freezing cold. I am not posting this to make you feel sad, martine. I am just pointing out that Connie is still URGENT ACTION and needs help asap. Your photos are great and they will help Connie in getting out and safe hopefully.

MemberHow lovely that you have taken Boomer/Bobby into your home. I remember him scared and huddled in a corner in Ashton. I am sure he will come out of himself soon and teach Max that he has to start sharing his toys.

MemberCory is a very dignified dog, walks beautifully on the lead. Its almost like he knows he can’t mix with the other dogs because of his skin condition. He surveys his other doggie pals and his surrounding contentedly from a distance. And he has such a waggy tail. He was sad to go back into his kennel this morning, went in obediently. Lovely boy.

MemberBeautiful looking dog, yes she feels lovely. When back in her kennel she sits quite calmly in her bed. It is amazing to see such a beauty end up in Ashton. She has two different coloured eyes. I hope someone comes for her soon.

MemberHopefully Copper will be feeling better soon, he is gorgeous. Lovely gentle little man who has had to grow up quickly and cope with not feeling well and the pound, all in the space of a short time. I would agree there is more Spaniel in him than Rottie, but he has that lovely head. He will need a foster home where he can get back into the fullness of health. I am sure he will find that soon. In the meantime he is getting the best of care. Thanks to Jenny(Ann) and DID

MemberYou will need to fill out the adoption form which you can download from the forms section on main site. When the application is received you will be contacted about a homevisit and a volunteer will call out to see you in your home.

MemberThat is such a pity Buzzsmom. I was speaking with someone from DID yesterday and they mentioned that a female in heat can not go into foster with another male even if neutered as it would just cause stress. I wonder if it is ok to be fostered with another female, Can anyone clarify this. It would be great to see Biddy and Bella in foster, they are both super dogs.

MemberWith regard to the other CKC who was overweight, his owners did come back and reclaim him either yesterday or today.
