MemberI’m so sorry to hear the beautiful Snowdrop has passed. She had a lot on in 2011, with her owner going to hospital, her own tumours, her very long stay with dedicated fosterer Sabbathmc and finally to her forever home for the briefest of time. Snowy was chosen and left this world wanted and loved, I’m happy it ended on a high for her.

MemberHi Elaine,
The dog we fostered and later adopted would be fond of going off down the garden and pottering around. Our other dog would often go off on his own for a snooze. He alwas has done, even as the solo dog in the house. I don’t think that is all that unusual. They like time apart and from each other. Would your Elsa have a quiet, safe cozy spot to go and have a bit of "me time"?If Elsa is appearing fearful recently for no particular reason it could be that she is hearing something that you can’t such as bangers. Some people find DAP collars useful for anxious dogs. Our adopted dog, Brandon, favours a DAP collar because he is anxious of strange dogs and being on long journeys in the car.
It’s the same old story, an animal has no value in Ireland, unless you can sit on it, eat it, sell it, or bet on it.

MemberI had a bit of a search, realised I was answering a question you hadn’t asked
This website is a UK one but mentions breeds: they source various places e.g. French Embassy. It would be worth double checking directly for the country you’d like to visit [url:fby2j43d]http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/media/968602/travelling%20abroad%20with%20your%20dog%20-%20information%20for%20website.pdf[/url:fby2j43d]Best of luck.

MemberDon’t need a pet passport for taking pets between the UK and here. The rabies vaccination would be needed for travel outside UK and Ireland. There is an initial rabies shot and a very tight window for getting the booster at a vets here. If you miss out on the booster you have to begin from scratch. It is a costly process, your vet may not issue you with a reminder.
There may be local restrictions in the country you visit mainland Europe but I’ve no knowledge on that part. Try irishanimals.com.dogsrule
MemberI’m so sorry for your loss, what a lovely dog and a precious gem for the brief time you shared together.

MemberI’m so sorry to hear about your loss of your friend Sandy. It’s to your credit that you thought of rescuing a dog back in 2000 when it wasn’t really done all that much. It heartening to think of your dog’s life in those 11 years as a cherished pet .

MemberI’ve donated E50 via PayPal. Happy that I don’t need to already have or set-up a PayPal account to do so.
Good going getting the owner to give the dog to DiD. Well done Andrea! It’s good to get involved and take the risk for the sake of a helpless animal.

MemberI’m so sorry for your friend’s loss. Ruby was lucky to get a home all the way over in the UK. It’s good that your friend cared.

MemberThanks lainey and justineemoe. Justineemoe, I admire anyone who walks the dogs at Ashtown, particularly in the height of winter. I was looking back over the posts here and saw you mentioned walking him on the 23rd of January 2010. You gave him a compelling paragraph for his CV.
A big thank you to you and your sister from myself and Brandon.dogsrule
MemberWe adopted Brandon on the 1st of May 2010. We’d been fostering him since the 2nd of February and had him with us for 3 months. When it came down to the wire we couldn’t let the funny little guy go.
Happy 1st birthday Brandonburger!

MemberI’m very sorry to hear about Abu’s accident and that he didn’t make it. He obviously brought so much joy in his short life. I feel terrible for his new family.
