Couldn’t agree more with your comments. The greatest honour you can give a departed pet is to allow another needy animal to join you. Its never a replacement, how could it be? I am so happy you found each other ![]()
Too true Mary….I love the face of Ollie in the picture with Santa…..its like he’s thinking here mum I am meant to be the only white haired guy in this house….show him the door.
Hi Audrey,
I also have another Santa that sits on the hearth. Everyday I can hear a scuffle in the room and when I go in, Ollie has the poor Santa pulled around the place. He just looks up at me as if to say "it wasn’t me!"
Happy Christmas to Rossi, Tess & Velvet and of course, your good self.

Ollie has finally learned to play with another dog
Since Star arrived with us she’s been trying her best to play, but Ollie wasn’t having any of it……….until yesterday. Since then they are like a whirlwind through the house. I’m so delighted as every dog should have fun in their life. Thank you Star

A year ago today I got a call from Kathy asking if I could foster a young man by the name of Ollie. Ollie was already in foster but his foster mam had to go away for a few days. Now as it so happened, I had been following Ollie on the site. Our beloved maltese, Fred, had died just a few weeks previous and we really weren’t sure if we were ready to get another dog. Fostering seemed the perfect answer. We would just foster and when the time came, would hand him over to his forever family….. WRONG!
I collected Ollie, brought him home and knew instantly I would never let him go. It was love at first sight and I can honestly say that there has never been a day since that we’ve regretted our decision. He was put on this earth to be ours. Our kids are grown up and flown the nest and Ollie is like our baby. I can’t express just how much happiness this amazing little dog has brought to our lives. We just could not imagine life without him.
We discovered that Ollie has been microchipped twice and from the first microchip we discovered that he started off life as Harvey. He, in fact, is Kennel Club registered and his official name is "Pine Haven Shadow of Love". Never was there a more apt name for a dog – he is "my shadow". Where I go, Ollie goes. He has known a lot of change in his short life. He had been given up by his first owners when he was 2 years of age and I have no idea where he spent the following 2 years before been given up again. But this much I do know – he will never ever be given up again. Ollie is finally home…..

Ollie was with us for a short holiday and while his folks had the sun we had the snow…..for a change he went out and came back the same colour on our hike……although he wasn’t that easy to see.

Our Ollie has been with us almost 2 years now and he continues to bring us such joy. He is the happiest most lovable dog in the world and we are so lucky to have him.

Ollie got a new playmate today. My daughter and her boyfriend have adopted Mia, the gorgeous Shih Tzu – Maltese cross. She’s an absolute stunner. They met for the first time last week and they got on instantly. Will upload lots of photos during the week. Another great DID success
