Just wondering how the babies are today. Seven days old now, each passing hour will make them stronger and the foster person weaker. You will get big gold stars for this one, you really will.
You are correct as usual Twist, the ‘DID SIX’ are indeed in my sights (and heart). I hope they all make it, they have the best chance of surviving under the good care they are getting. They will be my first port of call when I log in to the DID site.
Well done Yazz, gathering your family together for a lovely photograph. I know you will care for them as they will care for you. Just as it should be, delighted for you.
Little puppy dogs, you are in the care of the best team of people in the world, a great shame your poor mother wasn’t with you. Keep going, make us all happy, lots of adventures and great fun ahead of you. A tiny (really tiny) bit of praise has to go to the person who dumped you in your foster mother’s garden, they could have dumped you in a river. Really, they should have cared for you and your poor mother, sadly they didn’t!

Good morning Audrey
Would love to bring my person to the show next year. She can’t get away just now because of the oldies (people and dogs) but she has a year to get organised from now, so hopefully! I would love to visit everyone just so they could see that I am happy and well (and in charge!!!). Especially if there are prizes to be won, I don’t think I would be going home empty-pawed. Didn’t Oscar and Tilly do well, they must be very pleased. I am back at work now having fully recovered from kennel cough, obviously I wouldn’t have been allowed to attend the Second Chance Show if I hadn’t been well enough, so no excuse for not being at work.
Nellabi and I trotted off to a little dog show supporting Second Chance Kennels in Fife last Saturday. She also won a prize, not, I may add in Oscar’s league – but almost. She came second (out of 10 dogs) for the dog with the waggiest tail
. The show started at 11 a.m. we didn’t get there until about 1.30 and I am sure if we had been on time she would have won or been placed in each of the classes we could have entered. Probably best that we arrived late for all the other people who entered the other classes, our lateness gave them a chance:lol:. Cassie would have won the waggiest tail class because her tail NEVER stops wagging. She is too old now for long car journeys but doing well. A super old girl, wish I could dip her into a fountain of youth and make her 2 years old. What a dog she must have been. She is currently dosing on my bed. Many congratulations to all who won anything at the DID show, richly deserved, each and every one. Best wishes to all
.
Could not agree more. DID, fantastic website and fantastic people. Oscar is indeed a great ‘front man’ for DID – just like Freddie Mercury was for Queen. I am a great fan of Oscar, DID and Queen! I wonder if he knows how special he is? ![]()
Another bit of fantastic news. Lucky girl, lucky family, happy days for all of you now. You have all made me a very happy person, well done to all.
Fabulous photographs of Toto. What an earnest little face (looking at that finger). He has it all – cute, bright, smart, hairy, friendly (unless you are covered in feathers of course!!!), enjoys camping – an all round decent little chap
Very nice indeed.
Thank you for asking after me Oscar. Yes, I am much better and had my last antibiotic tablet this morning, still at home though. I will probably get back to work at the end of the week. Can’t have my person wandering about without me, she gets lost very easily (old, you see!). Please don’t tell her I said that. You really are a handsome little chap and we (person and I) think you are a very good example of your breed, keep up the good work.
I love his ‘tatty teddt’ look although he IS very handsome with his new haircut. What a change to Oscar’s life, pauper to prince. I would say in one fell swoop but it certainly wasn’t that. A long journey for him but with a spectacular outcome. Its so lovely to ‘see’ hime now and again. Need to catch up with Pixie, Paxy and Bubs and so many others. Its just nice to know they are all safe. Nellabi currently has kennel cough, a visit to the vet yesterday. She is not out of sorts at all just has an awful ‘honking’ cough so is on antibiotics and is having a day at home – mainly so we don’t spread it around all the other dogs who come to work with their people!! Have a good weekend Oscar and please say thank you to your people for staying in touch.
Brilliant news for Xena, another success story from "foster world", best ending to a nice story. ![]()
What a lovely dog Hailey is growing in to. She looks quite small by comparison to the white GSD she is tearing around with, I would have been staggered if she had been anything like the same size
. It is always great to get the neutering bit out of the way, just a nice, busy, happy life now. I hope you have a decent stock of walking shoes/boots because I suspect Hailey will have you walked all over the place, up hill and down dale. Think how fit you will all be. Your God dog, Nellabi continues to take life on at 100 miles per hour, she is just the best small black dog ever born, love her to bits. Nearly ate the postie on Saturday morning as he tried to hand the post over the gate, can’t tell you how close she got to him, it was her biggest and best bounce to date. Do you know what, she now sits for the door to be opened and most of the time waits to be told she can go out, not all the time but most of the time, good girl. I look forward to hearing how Hailey progresses. I wonder if Pixie has completed her world domination yet
. Ah, so many dogs to follow!
She must be wondering why she has a plastic thing on her head. Great to see the ‘red mist’ has cleared from her little eyes and she is happy with her doggy company. It MUST be a terrier thing, if they would just be calm from the outset rather than have all the stress of posturing and pretending to be roughty toughty, it would save them time as they don’t really have anything to prove.
How interesting about Belle’s initial behaviour with other mutts. My Border Terrier is exactly the same, all "mouth and trousers". I have been assured by other BT owners that they are like that, regardless of how well socialised they are as puppies. I know we have spoilt our dog and I thought it was totally our fault, but apparently not. We just took our time introducing him to Cassie and Nellabi, they are all great buddies now but you would never think that at the initial meeting. I hope Belle will get better and better with new dogs because its nice for dogs to have dog company. She is a lovely little thing.
