MemberHi There,
Sorry about the lack of updates I was on a weeks hols and my laptop connection from home is WAAAAAAYYYYYY to slow
Evan is getting on great, he is really beginning to trust us now and is really coming out of his shell. He is such a sweet soft boy. We got 2 pot belly piglets last week- Elvis and Priscilla. Evan now completely ignores the chickens and is Obsessed with the piglets and i mean OBSESSED. He will literally sit there for an hour staring at them! I wonder is he thinking… hhmmm they will taste like rashers if i eat them
His new favorite place in the house is lying beside me on the couch which Bonnie (our gsd) is not too happy about!!! Will post some more pix during the week.

MemberWe learned lots of new stuff about Evan at the weekend
We learned he is a BRILLIANT swimmer and absolutely loves water! We literally could not keep him out if it. I was worried about him getting cold but he was flying around the place the whole time so he was grand.
We also learned he LOVES to chase birds (not the human type
). He hasn’t gotten over the hens yet and is still eying them up suspiciously… He chased one yesterday and i had to give out to him, well the look on his face when I gave out to him nearly broke my heart! he nearly had me in tears! I could only stay mad at him for about 5 seconds and that was it!
I will post some more pix tomorrow evening

MemberWalks very well on the lead and great in the car
We introduced Evan briefly to our horses, he barked at first as he was afraid but didn’t pay much notice after a few mins. We then introduced him to our Hens & Ducks… he seemed overly interested but after a few minutes of holding him and saying no he seems to pretty much ignore them… I will be keeping a close eye on him for the next few days though!! A chicken dinner might be too much to resist for him!!!
He has the most amazing eyes I have ever seen, big, SO SO shiny, round, chocolate malteaser eyes is the only way I can describe them! He slept soundly in the hall with Bonnie last night, Didnt budge until I got up this morning. I cant wait to get home from work this evening to spend more time with him and see more of his personality. I will take photos this evening and post them tomorrow.

MemberThanks Julesm, I know its best for him but I just love him! I actually think my girl Bonnie (GS) loves him even more so we will really miss him. He is just the gentlest boy. I bawled
when I heard we had someone who is interested in adopting him but your right, its for the best! Hopefully it gets easier to let them go, although Im not so sure!

MemberJust a little update & more pix of Jakey.
A friend of ours is really interested in adopting Jake and has filled out the adoption papers and is now awaiting a home check. I will be SO sorry to see Jake go, He is my first foster dog and I never thought for a second I would get so attached so fast. I know I have to let him go so I can foster more dogs but its going to be tough!!

MemberUpdate on Jay (we have nicknamed him jakeybaby)
.
Jay has settled in well and we already feel like he is part of the family. We have a very large field below our house and every evening when I get home from work I bring himself & Bonnie down there. They spend about 30 minutes running at full pelt. Jay runs up to Bonnie for a chase and Bonnie then legs it after him. He is like a little rabbit he is so fast, twisting and turning and changing direction although Bonnie is usually literally on his heels!!!!!
When Jay first arrived he wasn’t that into cuddles & kisses etc- i think he was thinking- jesus will you ever leave me alone
but now he is just loving it… he will jump up on the couch beside me and roll over on his back for a belly scratch

MemberHey Keith, No probs at all. Jay would probably be classed as a medium sized dog I would say, Best of luck in your search

MemberHi Keith,
He is a good bit smaller than Bonnie, I will try take a better pic of him beside Bonnie this evening just so you can get a better idea of his size.
When he met Bonnie for the first time he didn’t growl, bark, bare teeth or show any signs of aggression. We have had a few visitors to the house over the past few days and he has been perfect. The only time I have heard him bark so far is when we went for a walk by the river last night, there was a fisherman there in full camouflage gear and Jay barked at him a couple of times (To be honest the fisherman looked a bit scary, even to me!)
Re: Walking on the lead, He does pull a bit so I wouldn’t say your niece would be able to manage him. I have been walking him on the lead every evening to improve this and he is getting better. He comes to you when you call him and he sits when you ask him to.
Any other questions just let me know

MemberBrought Jay for a spin in the car last night, absolutely no issues at all, was in the back with Bonnie (our GSD) and happy out the whole time.
Jake will wait patiently for his dinner to be put in front of him, he doesn’t get too excited or jump around the place, he has no issues with food at all and happily let Bonnie have a nibble at his dinner until I dragged her away! The only less than positive comment I have is that he prefers to sit on our white couch than an older brown one that we have!

MemberHi There,
Well Jay arrived yesterday afternoon, hopped out of the car wagging his tail like crazy and came straight over to me for a good scratch. He is a very friendly boy with lots of personality. He was introduced to a lot of new faces yesterday- our GSD Bonnie, 5 ducks, 2 chickens & 4 horses and took it all in his strideSlept in the hall with Bonnie all night and not a peep out of him.
He is always on the go so it was difficult to take any decent photos! I will try and take some more in the next couple of days.
