Tilly has settled in brilliantly with us. We took her to wicklow last weekend and discovered she is a water baby – she jumped right into the river, swims really strongly and loves to dive under searching for stones or sticks. She loves it when we throw sticks into the water and chased after them sometimes managing 2 at a go.

Tilly has really become part of the family, we’ve taken her running with us and for the first couple of minutes runs wildly around but once she calms down a bit, ran very closely to us and kept looking around to see where we were. She also must now see our home as hers because someone called to our front door which was open and she barked loudly as if to say ‘don’t take a step further in, or else…’ a great watchdog.

Tilly still doesn’t like the car, but hasn’t been ill since our first journey and we took her to wicklow which was close to an hour in the car and she was fine however she does salivate a lot which I assume means she wasn’t feeling that great. However, we’re making sure each trip in the car means a great walk/run afterwards so hopefully that positive association will help.

Here are a few new pic’s of her up Killiney Hill and at the river.

Tilly is doing great, much more settled as the days go by. We took her to Emilie’s matches on saturday and she had a massive run through the park, chasing birds and their shadows. On sunday she got to meet the rest of the family dogs, four other dogs to play with all afternoon in a big garden and plenty of kids. She was exhausted by the end of it but loved it and so great with everyone.

She is still not good in the car and has to be lifted in. In fact, she was ill on one journey (not great) and the second one she pee’d everywhere. ANy advice on this as we will be travelling around during the summer?

Here’s a new pic..the harness works great by the way!

Well Tilly has been with us for nearly 24 hours and everyone loves her. She arrived to our house and was greeted by the kids who made such a commotion that kids from neighbouring gardens climbed over the walls to see her. She spent the afternoon playing in the garden with a plastic toy, sticks, on the trampoline and just been tickled by the kids. We all took her out for a short walk of the neighbourhood to get a bit of a sniff around and just before bed I brought her out on a long one down to the sea.
She loves the smell of the sea, kept on sniffing it and looking longingly at it. Any dogs she encountered she drops down and cowers (I’m not sure if this is just nerves or the collie in her). We bought a harness and walking her is a pleasure, no pulling and even sat whilst waiting for the lights to change.
She’s a bit of a scavenger, I put her to bed in the kitchen and then heard a big bump and she’d knocked over the recycling bin and was licking her way through empty yogurt cartons etc. Having said that, once told it was ‘no’ she went off to bed and not a peep out of her all night. She didn’t end up sleeping in her bed though but on the couch…any advice on how to stop this and get her into her bed would be great.
She was eager for cuddles this am, kids had a quick play with her in the garden before school and i left her sitting in the sun in the garden whilst Theo had his breakfast inside. Here’s a pic of her this am.
