These are the cutest puppies ever – I am really enjoying following their progress and seeing their photos. Sending them all good wishes for the next stage of their little lives. Be happy little ones. x
TobysMumMemberOnce again Susie, you have me in tears reading this lovely piece. Thank you.
TobysMumMemberThat’s really lovely Susie, and so true. Thank you for sharing it.
TobysMumMemberThanks again for all your lovely messages and a special thanks to you Kay for all your support. Its like Scruffy was always here, we have fitted right in together. We love our walks, especially down at Seapoint – even better when the tide is out and I can let him off the lead to chase the seagulls! We meet loads of other dogs down there, some of them DID adoptions, and Scruffy has playtime with them all. I’ll post up some new photos soon. Kind regards, Scruffy and Evelyn.
TobysMumMemberThank you all so much for your very kind words – I’m really thrilled that Scruffy chose mine as his forever home. I’ve been delaying replying to you all because I thought I would change his name but to be honest, he’s been with me too long now (nearly 5 weeks) to change it – all the names I’ve been trying out just don’t seem to fit him. So, Scruffy he will remain.
TobysMumMemberI know what you mean Debo about finding it hard to part with a foster fur baby……..and so……….
Scruffy has asked if he can adopt me!
Thank you all so much for your interest in him so far – I promise to keep you posted on this next stage of his life.
A huge thanks to all the lovely ladies in DID who were involved in his care up to now and for giving me the chance to look after him now.
TobysMumMemberHello Ladies, thank you so much for your lovely comments. Yes, poor Scruffy is mis-named now, I feel quite embarrassed calling him that! While he was a real cutie with his long coat, it did get very matted (mea culpa! I should have been brushing him every day). But I think he’s lovely now and will keep up the brushing to avoid the matts as the coat grows. Sorry, can’t resist another couple of photos taken last night. He took out the pine cones from my lovely display in the fireplace and proceeded to chew them to bits on the rug – the little minx!
I wonder how much of a mess I can make here:
It wasn’t me, honest!

TobysMumMemberWell, here’s my little man with his new haircut. A huge thanks to my friend Mary Lewis (who used to mind Toby for me) who very kindly didn’t charge me. He had got a bit matted from all his rolling around in the grass so the new ‘do’ will be a lot easier to keep! Before and after pics:
Look, I found a stick!
Well, do you like my new look?

Alfie6.jpgTobysMumMemberI got the following lovely update from Alfie’s forever family:
"I hope your felling okay now as i know how upsetting it was for you leaving Alfie but rest assured that he is being well looked after i promise you that. We all love the little fella and ive gotta tell you that i adore him! He gets plenty of exercise between his morning, daytime and evening walks plus the boys play with him in the back yard. I must say i really enjoy taking him out as there is plenty of green belt around me and best of all he knows the places where i let him off the lead and he can run free but he wont let me out of his sight and he comes to me when i call him, he looks so happy when he plays fetch i get a real kick out of him. He’s getting better with his barking as he meets more dogs and he only barks at the very odd person and he’s as good as gold at home he really is. I brought him to the vet on Thursday to get his vaccination and his nails clipped and i gave him a bath that morning so he’s a lovely boy now!!!. I got his bed which he likes and his house which he hasnt really taken to but thats okay its only for shelter if hes out back but hes indoors mostly as he loves company and loves to play and i cant refuse his cute face when he jumps up on me with one of his squeak toys. Ive never seen a dog that loves to go for a walk as much as Alfie, he gets so excited when i as him if he wants to go "walkies" he fetches his lead and drags me out the door!. Ive never walked as much since we adopted him but it will keep me fit and i love minding him. He’s asleep in his bed as write this. Feel free to post his pics ive attached on the D.I.D. website as he is a very welcome addition to our family and it really is a happy ending."

Alfie3.jpgTobysMumMemberHi Angela, I think Scruffy is getting on ok now – it’s just over a week since Alfie left and he is slowly getting used to life without him. We go on long walks twice a day and usually meet an assortment of dogs – some of which he has a little play with – he is really sociable! Here are another couple of pics of him. As you can see, he’s living up to his name but we have an appointment at the ‘hair salon’ tomorrow for his summer ‘short back and sides’! I’ll post some ‘after’ photos tomorrow.
Posing at the window:
I wonder would I fit through these railings?:

DSC00184.JPGTobysMumMemberWell, my little man is missing his best pal Alfie who went to his forever home last Friday. Poor Scruffy doesn’t know what to be doing with himself. But he met a golden retriever on the green yesterday and had a bit of a play with him so that cheered him up a bit. He would be best suited in a house with another dog or with someone at home most of the time to keep him company.
All alone now for our early morning walk:
Hey, when I chew on this it makes a great noise:
Hope she comes home from work soon, I’m lonely:
I’ll just have a nap while I’m waiting:
